A client has asked me for the following:
For the featured image on the wordpress add post side we only want the featured image to be shown when we post to social media like Facebook. So the featured image shouldn’t be on the blog anywhere but just shown in meta data on social meta.
I am not too sure how to solve the problem, i have tried hiding it with css and ive looked around online. The reason i ask on here is because i dont know if this is possible. any suggestions?

So I create a new post in Wordpress.
I use the Gutenberg image block to upload an image.
When I scrape the post at the Facebook sharing debugger it displays another random image from my library and tells me no og:image is set.
There's only one image -- how to add the og:image tag?
The og:image tag will contain only the "featured image" of your WP post. If there is no featured image, social media sites will probably use/display the first "regular" image appearing in your post, but there's no guarantee for that.
You might want to use the "Yoast" plugin, this will most likely try to achieve this automatically.

Try setting the social share image for your page/post in Yoast instead of MashShare. You may not need MashShare at all. I'm not familiar with it.

Cannot see thumbnail on my blog link posted on Facebook
I tried using FB developer tools and I see only a ugly gray generic image from my link, not a proper thumbnail.
I don't know how to solve.

Thumbnail picture exactly what in your og:image, if you don't like it i think that you must change your og:image.

But I don't see how I can do it in wordpress, I've tried Nextgen plugin but the gallery shows all the images and the album is only a link to the gallery and I don't want this effect.
Anybody knows any way of doing it?

if made out of images, how you want to store text info? I suggest make out of post, then use for. ex.

I am setting up a website that would partially link directly to various stories and articles on other websites. Is it possible for the featured image of each post be automatically set to the featured image/thumbnail from the website being linked to? What I'm looking for is similar to the way social media sites automatically show featured images of shared pages when a user posts the url. Please see the image attached to see what I mean.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
