What's the Developer Express equivalent of System.Windows.Forms.LinkButton? - devexpress

I can't seem to find Developer Express' version of the LinkButton. (The Windows Forms linkbutton, not the ASP.NET linkbutton.) HyperLinkEdit doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for since it looks like a TextEdit/TextBox.
Anyone know what their version of it is? I'm using the latest DevX controls: 8.2.1.

The control is called the HyperLinkEdit. You have to adjust the properties to get it to behave like the System.Windows.Forms control like so:
control.BorderStyle = BorderStyles.NoBorder;
control.Properties.Appearance.BackColor = Color.Transparent;
control.Properties.AppearanceFocused.BackColor = Color.Transparent;
control.Properties.ReadOnly = true;

You should probably just use the standard ASP.Net LinkButton, unless it's really missing something you need.

Radeditor on google chrome not working

I have a telerik rad editor. My application runs in .net 2.0 environment. The telerik version is : 2012.3.1016.35. The rad editor is not enabled on chrome only. I cannot type into it.Works fine in all other browsers. Upgrading to new telerik is not an option. Because this is an old client and changing will/may affect other styling things.
So what are my options. I posted this on telerik, but no response. If you need more information, please let me know. Thanks.
EDIT:
ON checking the console I got an error. Please find the image attached to see the error.
SOLUTION:
I got it. I had a line like below to open a rad window:
rwSC.VisibleOnPageLoad = True
This was causing the problem. Sometimes it would open fast and the control would load and I can place my cursor within the rad editor within the rad window and sometimes cannot. So I replaced that with this
Javascript.RegisterStartupScript(Me, "NewSC", "setTimeout(""$find('" & rwSC.ClientID & "').show();"", 500);", True)
And now it works. The rad editor within the radwindow is enabled and I can edit it.
Is this what you have: http://feedback.telerik.com/Project/108/Feedback/Details/125713?
If so, try the JS workaround there

setting Style property of a WebControl From Code Behind

recently I found in one of my older projects (asp.net 4.0)
that I've been using this code
to set display Style-property To none
DDL_ChosenEmpl.Attributes.Add("style", "display:none");
lately I was using
DDL_ChosenEmpl.Style.Add("display", "none");
i would like to know
in any case such as - property already exist whether it's with different value or not , will any of them should be avoided ?
what are the main differences between both methods ?
Both does the same functionality as you have done. The thing is, in "Attributes" collection, you have a control's other attributes like "click", "dblclick", etc. You can use either way. I believe Microsoft has given the later part for user's convinience to make coding easy.

Asp.Net - Is there a way to set attribute to all controls of the application?

I have a system and I had a problem today, when the user double-click on button control and the system process the operation twice.
I found a solution with this code on the button:
OnClientClick = "this.disabled = true; this.value = 'submiting ...';" UseSubmitBehavior = "false"
However, I have several pages in the system, with several buttons ... is there any way to set these attributes to all the buttons of the application?
Thank you!
What about using a clientSide approach by using JQuery and disabling all Submit controls (jsfiddle)
$(document).ready(function () {
$(' :submit').click(function (event) {
$(this).attr("disabled","true");
});
});
I am quite new to JQuery so if there are any better solutions or I am completly wrong, pls let me know!
I'm not sure, but it seems that it is possible through skin file.
You can create a custom button. Here you have example how to create button that displays confirm window on client click. Almost what you wan't.
http://dhavalupadhyaya.wordpress.com/2008/07/20/creating-custom-controls-in-asp-net/
Than you would have to change all the asp:Buttons on every page to someTag:YourButton. Maybe simple Find/Replace. But I think there is possibility to configure in web.config so that ASP.NET uses someTag:YourButton everytime it sees asp:Button. But can't find now how to do it.

Sys.UI.DomElement.getBounds

I have an asp.net 4.0 web application I want to use Sys.UI.DomElement.getBounds to get panel's bounds. I have used following JQuery code:
var el = $get('#panel1');
var box = Sys.UI.DomElement.getBounds(el);
but I am getting error that Sys is not defined. Can you please tell me what are the pre requisites of using Sys.UI.DomElement.getBounds ?
Thanks,
Your mixing ASP.NET AJAX with JQuery, change your code to:
var el = $get('<%= panel1.ClientID %>');
var box = Sys.UI.DomElement.getBounds(el);
I'm assuming panel1 is a server control, otherwise, just do $get('panel1'); if not. You could also use JQuery's outerwidth and outerHeight or other methods found here: http://api.jquery.com/category/manipulation/ to get the size of an element.
HTH.
"Sys is undefined" will occur if the Microsoft Ajax JavaScript file(s) fail to load. Make sure this is not the case. To do so use Fiddler or Firebug and inspect your page for failing HTTP requests. Look for 404 and 500 HTTP codes.
I solved the problem. I used
var el = $get('#panel1');
var box = Sys.UI.DomElement.getBounds(el[0]);
and it worked.

jQuery syntax while using master Page

I am using master page where i need to move value of one listbox to the other with the help of jQuery I tried many ways but wasn't able to hit the nail.
The methods I tried are as follows:
$("[id$='ModuleMasterListBox option:[#selected]']").appendTo($("[id$='ModuleSelectListBox']"));
$("[id$='ModuleMasterListBox option:#selected]'").appendTo($("[id$='ModuleSelectListBox']"));
var module = $("[id$='ModuleMasterListBox']").val();
module.appendTo($("[id$='ModuleSelectListBox']"));
These are the methods I tried which failed - please help me out....
You should be able to do it like this:
$("[id$='ModuleMasterListBox'] :selected").appendTo("[id$='ModuleSelectListBox']");
From your markup and the # sign it looks like you're using an outdated version of jQuery, you may want to consider upgrading. In the above we're using the attribute-ends-with selector to get the <select> the using :selected to grab the selected <option> before moving it.
Keep in mind since it looks like you're using ASP.Net this will by default throw validation errors on the server-side, you'll have to disable page validation for it to allow items it didn't bind.
