ebook-convert/ Is there way to pick up a certain page of epub and turn it into txt file? - calibre

I'm struggling to look for a way to convert an epub file into a txt file using ebook-convert cli, not as a whole, but I need to convert only one certain page.
I'm reading the official document, but I can't see any option which enables you to pick up one page from epub file and generate txt file from it.
If you shed some lights on it, I would appreciate it.

How to extract infos in a .db file to create .csv or any viable "bookmark" file?

I am using a quite unknown bookmark manager on Android. I picked this one after trying others because it was possible to import, export, classify by folders, the design was good and it was easy to search in my bookmarks.
After importing all my bookmarks from other browsers and also from files, I started classifying all of them into folders, subfolders, etc..
I spent many days to classify them all as I wanted.
After classifying them, I tried to export them.
The problem is that the only option offered is to export them in a .html file, containing all the bookmarks but without any folder.
The .html file contains all my bookmarks but in complete desorder, and doesnt mention the folders.
In the app there was also a "backup" function, so I tried and it creates a .db file.
I opened this .db file with some SQLiteViewer app and I found written inside, among other things I dont understand, a list of all my bookmarks with a number next to each one of them, and also a list of my folders with next to them the corresponding number.
When I open the .db file, I have a choice between
-SQlite master
-android metadata
-bookmarks
-folders
-sqlite sequence
If I click on "Bookmarks", all my bookmarks are in a kind of spreadsheet with lines and columns. Next to them in another columns, for example for each bookmark related with "Kitchen recipes" it's written the number 1.
And in the "Folders" folder, next to the folder called "Recipes" its also written 1.
So I'm happy because it seems that my classification is stored in this file.
But the fact is I dont know how to extract easily all that data, and create with it a "bookmark" file importable in other bookmark app or browser ( for example .csv or .xbel or .html but with folders)
I guess I need some "script" working like this:
if the first raw in "Folders" got the number 8 next to it
Then take all the bookmarks in the "bookmarks" folder that also got an 8 written next to it, and put it inside this folder.
I'm a complete noob in coding, I dont know what is SQlite, nor anything.
So i know that maybe I am asking for too much informations at the same time.
But if some kind person could put me in the way, by explaining me if
thats possible
what would be the easiest way
if some solution already exist
if someone like me can do it and what do I have to learn if I want some day to be able to do it
Thanks
Here's pictures so you understand easier:

How to read the contents of a .lua script file?

I have a .lua file from an old 2000s game. I tried opening it with Hex editors, and it gives me the header of "LuaP"? Trying to open it in Notepad does give me a few rows of readable text, but the rest of it is garbled characters.
Link to screenshot: https://ibb.co/k41LPgM
Is this Lua file encrypted? And if so, what do I use to decrypt it? And if it's not, then what is a more appropriate tool to use to read the contents of the Lua file?

Convert PS (Post Script) File In to Word Using Asp.Net

A Question in my mind Is it possible to convert Postscript(PS) File Into Word(doc) file using Asp.Net? If Yes then how can we resolve it via C# Code.
I don't know of any tool which will convert PostScript to word. Not only that, but you certainly can't reliably do anything except render the whole thing to an image, and isert that as a graphic.
Up to a point you can extract text, what is it you actually want to do ?

Using PurePDF is it possible to view PDFs?

Can you use PurePDF to view files or is the api only for writing them?
Based on the PurePDF Project Page, reading and extracting information from PDFs is supported:
read existing pdf documents (extract strings, streams, images and all the informations from them). See HelloWorldReader.as for an example
However, if you're looking to view / rasterize a PDF, that's a much more complicated task and doesn't look like it's supported as part of PurePDF.
I suggest converting the PDF into a swf file. There are a number of projects out there (including free / open source) that convert pages into SWF files, including being able to still extract the text. :D
It looks like you can either navigate to the url of the PDF (maybe in an HTML component?) , OR a richer solution might be to use the open source flex paper : http://flexpaper.devaldi.com/

Convert RTF to PDF on a rule into Alfresco

I found a link (http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Content_Transformations) that says that i need to create a file named my-transformers-context.xml and put my configurations there to convert RTF to PDF...
There says that some configuration are already configured but this one (RTF to PDF) and some others (DOC to PDF) are not.
By the way i couldn't find how to create this xml with the right configuration to convert the RTF file into a PDF...
Someone already done something like this? or someone know a link that explain how to configure this xml file?
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!
I don't know if there is a way to say that i've solved the problem... But here it goes the solution...
I saw what Gagravarr said and started looking for configuration of openoffice into alfresco...
There is a file named:
alfresco-global.properties
and there is two variables named:
ooo.exe
and
ooo.enabled
the first one must indicate the path to sopenoffice.exe
and the second one must be equal to true...
ooo.enabled = true
That solve a lot of problema to convert some kind of file to another... like RTF to PDF...
Out of the box, Alfresco should be able to transform a RTF file to a PDF using OpenOffice (direct or JodConverter, depending on if you're on Community or Enterprise)
Assuming you're on a new enough Alfresco, this webscript will tell you what transformations are available from and to RTF:
http://localhost:8080/alfresco/service/mimetypes?mimetype=application/rtf#application/rtf
If that doesn't show you RTF -> PDF, then you need to look at your open office configuration/setup
