Need to create a link to a qr code on a phone home screen - qr-code

This might be too simple to find an easy solution for.
We are moving to a system where our staff clock on and clock off using a QR or Bar code.
We can provide each staff member with their own QR code on a sticker and they clock on/off by passing it under the scanner as they arrive/depart. (Typically this is stuck on the back of their phone.)
A better option would be to display the code on the screen of the phone itself. This can be done by saving the code in the photo gallery and displaying it for scanning but this is quite fiddly and the whole point is to streamline the process.
Any suggestions?
I thought there might be a way to create a home screen icon that links to an image and displays it but if so it alludes me.
Failing this I thought there might be an app to achieve the same result but I have not been able to find one.

First, have a imgur or any other photo sharing accounts. Then, put all the staff's qrcodes in there and assign each their own qrcode link which they can add to home screen
The link will look something like this

Azure Notification Hub App Logo for multiple platforms

I have NH working ok, but I want to have an image accompany the push. Basically, this image is a branding option, so it wouldn't change for each push, but could change occasionally.
This seems pretty straightforward for WNS, using the App Logo Override option.
Can something similar be done for iOS and Android? I haven't played with them yet and I don't really need a whole solution, I just can't seem to find it spelled out like it is for WNS.
I did see an example for iOS that involved sending a silent notification that prompted the user to see the image, but that's not what I'm trying to do.
I just want a message from a particular vendor to have their little logo on it.
Is this possible?
TIA
Turns out the best way to do this is to send a URL for an image in the template and substitute it for the applogo image source. Remember that when you do that, the system will not automatically size it for you.

How can I generate a circular qr-code like a messenger or a kik code?

How can you generate the codes like shown below:
I will assume you want to use an existing standard instead of attempting to invent your own encoder\decoder.
Any 2D barcode can be intentionally damaged for esthetics if you crank up the redundancy used for error correction. 2D barcodes are designed to survive a certain amount of damage. Placing an image in the center and rounding the corners are both considered damage from the perspective of the reader. For round corners you can't use a barcode with orientation dots in the corners, like QR. You must choose a format that is oriented with a marker in the middle like:
MaxiCode
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MaxiCode
ShotCode
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ShotCode
Aztec Code
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aztec_Code
Similarly, if you wanted to place an image in the center then you wouldn't want to use one that requires a bullseye for orientation, unless you can retain the bullseye somehow in your central image. To place an image in the center and also round the corners you need to get creative. In your first image there are four tracking dots around the image. In the second and third examples the company uses it's own logo as the orientation point.
The first code you show is a proprietary code made by Facebook. It is now no longer used by their products, but some sites, e.g. respond.io may allow you to create them and some regular QR code scanners may be able to read them.
The second code is a Snapchat code and can be made on their site directly when you log into your account. You can also do it the the app on your device using their support instructions within limits for success.
The third code is a Kik code and there is a blog post of how to make that possible by generating a key and then downloading the code image in the color of your choice. They have more posts about how to work with them.
With all that said and done, you could try a site (not affiliated) like QR Code Go to make regular QR codes that are a little fancy. Thank you. Good day.

Qt Screenshot sharing app - How to select the area of a screen

I am trying to code an app in Qt for capturing and then sharing the screenshots. For now my application captures the screenshot, shows a preview and saves it. I am yet to do the upload part. but before that I would like to be able to select the area of the screen of which the screenshot needs to be captured.
I tried searching and I couldn't find any helpful articles or documents in Qt. So can anyone help me?
PS: The idea is to create a similar app like lightshot and several other similar tools.
Thanks in advance
There are two methods that you can use for this: -
1) Capture an image of the screen and then display that, full screen to the user, essentially allowing the user to crop the image.
2) A more commonly used method is to create a full-screen, topmost window that has no title bar and is transparent. This allows the user to drag out an area, which you can draw an outline to represent the area the user requires.
I recommend the 2nd method and creating a transparent window is simply a matter of changing the window flags, as you can see here.

How accessible is Fullcalendar?

I'm having problems making FullCalendar fully accessible. I'm using the default month view and can't access the next, previous, and today buttons on the top right without using a mouse. If I run a screen reader, I can access those buttons but not without running the screen reader.
And on another note, I currently am using tool tips that pop up when you mouse over an event title to display more information. If anyone has any tips on how to make those accessible to a screen reader or accessible without a mouse, I'd greatly appreciate it!
Regarding the buttons, I would advice that you write new buttons if accessibility is important. These buttons you could then hook up to your own javascript functions that moves to previous and next.
Check out this documentation example
Regarding the second problem, I think that's the same problem not just for physically impaired but also for things like mobile browsers. My tip would be to avoid onmouseover if the information that appears is really important.

How to access iPhone Simulator's images

Is there any way to access the internal images that the iPhone simulator uses?
For example, if I want to get the original image used for one of the default app icons (e.g. Contacts). This way I could get the highest possible resolution, and examine it for purposes of creating similar icons for my app.
Another example of an image I might want to access is the default icon for a contact:
I'm not asking for a programmatic solution (although that would work), I'm asking for a manual solution, possibly navigating the Simulator's file system using Finder.
You can find the apps at e.g. /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator4.1.sdk/Applications. The icon of Contacts is at /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator4.1.sdk/Applications/Contacts.app/icon.png or icon#2x.png. But you can't easily read them, as they are in a strange format (it's not standard PNG), you need to convert them. See for example this article or this article.
EDIT: added two more links for iphone icon images.
You dont need to do this.
Just grab a User Interface Kit:
Heres a website you can go to to download the .psd files which you can use for your self for free:
http://webdesignledger.com/freebi
For another library of iphone icons. This one includes the contacts icon:
http://www.iphonestudio.co.uk/page/iphone_icon_gallery
And here are the iphone icons on the main screen made downloadable for your own use.
here are official icons in different sizes.
check the quality of the Photos icon.
wow.

Hope this helps.
Let me know if it did
