Bootstrap Columns are not appearing side-by-side no matter what I try

I have the following code:
<div class="mainptext">
<h3><strong>Learn the following:</strong></h3>
<div class="container">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-6">
<ul>
<li>Lifts</li>
<li>False Deals</li>
<li>Side Slips</li>
<li>Passes</li>
<li>Palming</li>
<li>False Shuffles</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div class="col-6">
<ul>
<li>False Cuts</li>
<li>Color Change</li>
<li>Crimps</li>
<li>Jogs</li>
<li>Peaks</li>
<li>Glides</li>
<li>Reverses</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
No matter what I do, the result is the second column appears directly below the other.
The Margin - 100% and it shouldn't be.
I used the following https://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.1/layout/grid/#equal-width for reference.
I've been doing web development for over 35 yrs and this, so very simple, is kicking me.
This code lives inside an article tag. It's not full width of the page but a piece of it.
"NOTE: Ignore the DJ equipment. That picture will be replaced"
Here's the section that holds the box:
<!-- Main -->
<div id="main" class="site-main container_12">

Thoughts?
UPDATE: This is what I see in the DEV console
Then the console log:
I just copy and paste your html elements and its working fine I using Bootstrap Version 4.1.3 as CDN.
I think override style on columns so need to find which style is override from Inspect Element.

responsive design html out of place

I am trying to place in the correct order the mega menu for every screen or at least for the most common pc / laptop screens, but however, it looks like this. I am using twitter bootstrap 4 for this task
I want to keep the mega menu below the dropdown carpet without getting out of place
<li class="header__el open">
<a href="#" class="header__link dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown"
aria-expanded="true">header__link<b class="caret"></b></a>
<ul class="dropdown-menu dropdown-menu-large row" x-placement="bottom-start"
style="position: absolute;will-change: transform;top: 3rem;left: 10rem;margin: 1em;margin-left: 37%;transform: translate3d(23px, 22px, 0px);">
<div class="container-fluid">
<div class="row">
<div class="col-sm-4">
<div class="nav-group" style="margin-bottom:10px; border-bottom:none;">
<a href="#solutions-zero-trust-security?hsLang=en">
<h4>Zero Trust</h4>
</a>
<ul class="list-items space-0">
<li>Operationalize Zero Trust</li>
</ul>
</div>
<div class="nav-group" style="border-bottom:none;">
<h4>Industries</h4>
<ul class="list-items space-0">
<li>Financial Institutions</li>
<li>Law Firms</li>
<li>Retail/PCI</li>
<li>Federal</li>
<li>Airlines</li>
<li>Healthcare</li>

</div>
</div>
<div class="col-sm-4" style="padding-right:0px;">
<div class="nav-group" style="border-bottom:none;">
<h4>Compliance & Risk</h4>
<ul class="list-items space-0">
<li>SWIFT</li>

Foundation 6 - how can I stick a row under top-bar?

I have a sticky top-bar, ie something like:
<div id="main-navigation" class="top-bar-container" data-sticky-container>
<div class="sticky sticky-topbar" data-sticky data-options="anchor: page; marginTop: 0; stickyOn: small;">
<div class="top-bar">
<div class="top-bar-left">
<ul class="dropdown menu" data-dropdown-menu>
<li class="menu-text">
<strong>My Brand</strong>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
And now I have a row that I want to stick to it, but it does not work properly (it sticks to the top of the page when I scroll):
<div class="filter-row row" data-sticky-container>
<div class="sticky column expanded" data-sticky data-top-anchor="main-navigation:bottom">
</div>
</div>
P.S.: the main-navigation sticks properly.

Wordpress scroll animation to id

i'm trying to get my wordpress site to do the animate scroll to id, by using the scroll to id by malihu
I can't get it to work. When i click the link it just jump down to the page.
it´s a one page site..
<div class="wrapper">
<nav>
<ul>
<li><a href="#et" rel='m_PageScroll2id'>Et</a></li>
<li><a href="#to" rel='m_PageScroll2id'>To</a></li>
<li><a href="#tre" rel='m_PageScroll2id'>Tre</a></li>
<li><a href="#fire" rel='m_PageScroll2id'>Fire</a></li>
</ul>
</nav>
<div class="side" id="et">
<h1 id="section-1">Et</h1>
</div>
<div class="side" id="to">
<h1 id="section-2">to</h1>
</div>
<div class="side" id="tre">
<h1 id="section-3">tre</h1>
</div>
<div class="side" id="fire">
<h1 id="section-4">fire</h1>
<h2 id="scrollto">Heading 2</h2>
</div>
If you are ok with an alternate method, take a look at this demo http://codepen.io/mattsince87/pen/exByn.

Bootstrap - Divs in a row are causing shift/jump effect

I have a page developed using twitter bootstrap version 2. I have a row that is divided into span8 and span4. Span8 has some image slider (built with jquery) and span4 has just some links. When the page loads, all the links in the span 4 is displayed first and then when the image loads, the text gets pushed to right. Is there a way to prevent this shift/jump effect?
<div class="row-fluid">
<div class="span8" id="imgDiv">
<!-- Image slider goes here -->
</div>
<div class="span4" id="linksDiv">
<ul>
<li>link1</li>
<li>link2</li>
<li>link3</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
I have devised the following solution. Here's a JSFiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/sJq6y/
HTML
<div class="container">
<div class="row-fluid">
<div class="span8">
<div class="imgDiv">
<h1> Image slider goes here </h1>
</div>
</div>
<div class="span4 linksDiv">
<ul>
<li>Link One
</li>
<li>Link Two
</li>
<li>Link Duo
</li>
</ul>
</div>
</div>
</div>
CSS
.linksDiv ul {
list-style:none;
background-color:lightgrey;
width:90px;
height:90px;
padding:10px;
}
.imgDiv h1 {
text-align:center;
color:tomato;
}
Images
Probably due to styling coming from #imgDiv and #linksDiv.
Would this option work for you?
<div class="row-fluid">
<div class="span8">
<div id="imgDiv">
<!-- Image slider goes here -->
</div> <!-- end #imgDiv -->
</div>
<div class="span4">
<div id="linksDiv">
<ul>
<li>link1</li>
<li>link2</li>
<li>link3</li>
</ul>
</div> <!-- end #linksDiv -->
</div>
</div>
Good luck!
