When running firebase deploy --only functions the file lib/index.js is never updated and keeps the old version. Any idea why?
It worked the first time, but the first version of the file is kept and it never updates anymore...
Thanks!
I had the same issue (although using typescript), in my case what happened was:
I added external dependencies in the tsconfig.json, such as ../shared
this changed the lib folder structure and lib/index.js has been moved to lib/functions/src/index.js
however the main entry point in the package.json was still pointing to the old lib/index.js which was still there.
To fix:
delete lib folder
change the main entry in the tsconfig.json accordingly to new lib structure
My best guess right now: my code as an error. When I simplify the code, deployment works.
how do I solve this
The output directory is under your source tree
warning:the output directory is under your source tree
your generated files may get interpreted as source code
consider building into a different directory instead meteor build ../output
I apologize for my ignorance on this matter, I am new in the world of programming and meteor. about my case. 1. I have a folder on Desk called “Findme” where I have the structure of my project (the code and everything which forms the application which works) 2. Then through the console I access that directory findme and then run the command meteor build/Desktop/MyApp --server = https: //findme.com, and start downloading. 3. But inside the console I also get the message indicated before and when it is finished, and I check the folder MyApp, it is empty. 4. And when I check the Findme folder it has created a folder named ~ and inside displays a file called Desktop/MyApp but it also doesn’t have any useful files, only winrar and nothing useful. 5. I am trying to generate the apk, could you please let me know what I might be doing wrong? Is there another way to generate the apk? I would appreciate it if you could help me!
Your should specify a path for where to build your application that is outside of your project directory.
Otherwise this can lead to problems with Meteor's file watcher and as your error already pointed out:
your generated files may get interpreted as source code consider
building into a different directory instead
So if your command uses a relative path, as used in meteor build ../output then it is important to call this command at the most upper project folder.
Consider the following project structure:
/myapp
/client
/import
/server
If you call meteor build ../output from within /myapp it will generate the output folder as expected outside of the project:
/output
/myapp
/client
/import
/server
However if you call it from within a subfolder, say /myapp/imports it may generate the output within the project like so:
/myapp
/client
/import
/output
/server
So keep this in mind when building your app.

I'm new to node.js, sails.js and grunt.js.
When I run "sails lift" it does not create the .tmp folder and copy the assets to that folder.
However, when I run "grunt" in the project folder, the .tmp folder does get created and the assets do get copied over.
Anyone have suggestions on how to fix so "sails lift" works without calling "grunt"?
Check if the sails process has the right privileges and you're not running short of space.
Also, try manually deleting the .tmp folder and lifting again. Sometimes there can be issues with automatic file removal if any of the files are in use.
I am working with PyCharm 4.04. Since I installed it, every time I open it, as default directory I get this:
C:\Users\Laura\AppData\Local\Temp\main.py1.tmp>cd
Which gives me an error when trying to use the console:
Error:Cannot start process, the path specified for working directory
is not a directory
But even if I change the directory, the message does not disappear.
The terminal, though, it does work and I can run projects, but I would like to use the console.
Another solution is to close the project, run rm -rf .idea and re-open it. Apparently Pycharm gets confused by some direct folder manipulation and doesn't reflect it properly in his .idea/*.xml files
I also got this error, and it got resolved by setting the default working directory. Follow the below path, and set the Working Directory to the folder where your code resides.
File > Settings > Build, Execution, Deployment > Console > Python Console > Working Directory ...
I finally solved the problem.
I think it all started because the first project that I opened with pycharm was in my "download" folder, so the working directory was automatically set to a temporal folder by default and allthough I moved the project to another folder and I manually changed the working directory from the terminal, it was not working.
The solution was creating a new project and giving a correct path to the new project. It seems very easy but it was not that obvious.
In the upper right corner click on small ▼ next to your main to run (look to the left from green right-pointing triangle)
Select Edit configurations.
In ▼ Python select the proper configuration name.
Look at the Configuration panel.
Fix items Script and Working directory.
pycharm
I had this same problem and just had to reinstall pycharm. It's a quickfix and I can't ensure it won't happen again.
I solved this by replacing all instances of the old filename and old directory with the new one in .idea/workspace.xml
It can be done with PyCharm running.
#user1068430 has the answer in the comments to the question:
When you open a project open the directory not a specific python file.
Instead of ~/Documents/myProject/main.py open ~/Documents/myProject
If you "open" the .py file then you'll have to set the working directory (File > Settings > Build, Execution, Deployment > Console > Python Console > Working Directory) every time. If you "open" the directory containing the .py file, then PyCharm will open and all of your .py files will be available in the left window. Select one of them and you're good to go.
i had the same issue, the error comes up when i want to upgrade my packages and when i run my project "this FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'C:\Users\youruser\AppData\Local\Temp\gen_py\3.7\__init__.py'" i found that the Temp file in C:\Users\youruser\AppData\Local was corrupt and it was fixed by deleting the "Temp" file, once deleted it will automatically create a new one with "gen_py" in it
To anyone with similar issues: Python interpreter virtual environment is where your python.exe sits. The working directory is where your script sits. To make everything easier, open a new project, scroll to location where you script is stored, and select. Click the interpreter option, click existing (if old one worked) or choose the python.exe. When asked, open the project in a new window, close old one to avoid confusion.
source = banging my head against the console for past few hours.
if the above mentioned solutions are not working, you can restart a new project.
file > New project...
then,
create a new project.
How can I create a copy of my entire local meteor application? I was expecting a command like "meteor clone myapp" but couldn't find any documentation and simply copying the folder doesn't work.
You could use git to clone the whole thing.
If you aren't familiar with git see this reference. http://gitref.org/creating/
In windows, you can copy and paste the entire project directory and go into .meteor/local directory and delete everything in that directory except the db directory. Then start the meteor server on the new project directory, with everything deleted in the .meteor/local directory, meteor will rebuild the project without altering the logic of your application.
