I'm trying to learn how to create a custom WordPress theme. I've been following a tutorial, and I was trying to install DesktopServer onto my MacBook Pro (to create a local environment.)
But I'm not able to install it because it's stating that
"It appears that you have another web server already running. DesktopServer cannot be installed. Check that you do not have Web Sharing turned on from your System Preference -> Sharing control panel or turn off and remove your other web server."
I've checked my Sharing settings, and nothing is enabled (including internet sharing.) So that must mean I have a web server already running. But I don't know what that would be.
Is there a way for me to find out what web server my mac is running?
And after that, is there a way for me to disable that so I could possibly use DesktopServer instead.
I've really good with writing HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc., but I'm pretty new to the server and hosting and stuff. I honestly don't understand everything yet.

By default, Mac OSX has an Apache server running in the background
which conflicts with Serverpress by default.
To turn it off, run sudo apachectl stop.

I'm having trouble with setting up ACORE API's and then having them work on a website.
Background:
Azerothcore running 3.3.5 on a debian standalone server, this has the Database, Core files and runs both the world and auth server basically a standard setup that is shown in the how-to wiki.
I also have a standalone web server, on the same subnet, but it's a separate server running linux and normal web server stuff, this has a wordpress installation with azerothcore plugin for user signup etc.
I'm trying to add the player map (https://github.com/azerothcore/playermap) and the ACORE-API set of functions (server status, arenastats, BG que and wow statistics) (https://github.com/azerothcore/acore-api)
Problem:
I understand the acore-api must be run in a container (docker or whatever) on the server, which I have done and it binds to port 3000, I can then go to the local ip:3000 and it brings up this error. (all db's etc are connecting and soap is working)
error 404 when navigating to IP:3000
I do get a few errors when running NPM install seen here: I'm not sure if they would be causing any issues or not.

But further that, when I put say 'serverstatus' on the webserver (separate server) and configure the config.ts file I can't seem to get anything to display.
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but is the same scenario for all of the different functions for the acore-api
How are these meant to be installed and function? I feel I'm missing a vital step.
Likewise, with PLAYERMAP I have edited the comm_conf.php and set the realmd_id, but when loading the page, I do get the map, but the uptime is missing and no players are shown?
Could someone assist if possible?
Seems like an issue with NodeJS version. Update your NodeJS to latest LTS version 16.13.0 (https://nodejs.org)
I've just created a feature for our application which generates a powerpoint report from the data a given user has in our system.
In short, the server spawns an instance of google chrome using Selenium's ChromeDriver, and from there scrapes out the charts from our application running in chrome. It was done this way to ensure the charts in the report look exactly the same as they appear in the clients' browsers.
We use Azure Web Apps to host our development and production environments, and while my reporting feature works fine in local environments, it doesn't work once deployed to any other environments, because it depends on chrome being installed, and I can't get it installed in the Azure Web App sandboxed environment.

What I pretty much want to know is, if an Azure Web App environment isn't going to allow me to install google chrome, where should I look next?
It looks like using Service Fabric may allow me to install what I need appropriately (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/app-service/choose-web-site-cloud-service-vm), but it seems like a big change to make just to be able to facilitate this small part of the feature.
Another option is to just re-architect the feature so it doesn't depend on the server spawning an instance of google chrome.. but I'd just prefer to avoid that if there's a straightforward way for me to get what I have working.
Ideally, there'd just be a way to get google chrome installed in the given environment, but I've spent a good 10 hours trying to get that to happen now, and it's not looking promising.
There's a couple of solutions which would work - depending on your code and framework dependencies.
IMO - the simplest way would be to build your code in a docker container (that runs the Selenium ChromeDriver) and deploy it either through the container features on Web Apps or run it on demand through ACI (Azure container instances) and have it create the report and drop it in Azure Storage. In a container you have a lot more options - and you have a great amount of options on how to run it. Spinning up an ACI on-demand to do the job can be done in multiple ways (e.g. from Code or through logic-apps or Powershell/Azure automation).

Other alternatives of course - you could have a VM that you can install and do what you want with on-demand - however - it'd add more management overhead and other implications to think about.

I have found myself this problem with chromedriver.exe needing a real Chrome. As I cannot install Chrome in Azure App Service I am trying a portable version of Chrome. When using the chrome webdriver I tell it where to find the chrome binary.

You should be able to copy the chrome portable files as no installation is required. Although it is heavy, 250 MB, because it includes the non portable version inside.
Be sure to use a Chrome version compatible with your ChromeDriver as pointed in the documentation
I am using VS2015 and I am trying to run a website application, but every time I run the project I can't load the IISExpress because it says that the port 80 is in use, I run the Tcpview.exe from SysInternals to see who was using the port, but seems not to be in use. I found some related threads saying that can be a problem with the antivirus, I am using Symantec.

It is something weird, if the website is inside a solution, seems that it doesn't load correctly the application and all the time the port is ins use. I solved it using this approach

I am working with asp.net and I want to install DotNetnuke (I really need to install it). I have installed it on another computer in the company where I am doign my internship there. But I can't install it on my laptop :#.
First of all I have installed IIS (7.5 didn't worked, after that 8.0) and went through the steps in the 4 part video on how to install dotnetnuke (here is the first part: First Part)
After I did all that, I went to start the isntallation by typing www.dnndev.me on the browser... and I got the error http 500.19 error.... I fixed it by checking some options in the Turn Widnows features on or of (at Programs and Features in Control Panel).
After that I got the error http 500.21 .... I also fixed this by executing aspnet_regiis.exe.
And after executing that .exe file, when I typed www.dnndev.me, all errors where gone... but the Browser couldn't find www.dnndev.me !! I tried it on Chrome, Mozilla and IE... but non of them worken :(..
What's the problem? I removed all the errors, I did all the things in the videos.... why not working on my laptop?
Did you add the binding to IIS for DNNDEV.ME as well as WWW.DNNDEV.ME? The video instructs you to use DNNDEV.ME which is different than WWW.DNNDEV.ME, so you will need to add the binding for WWW if you want to access that.
Right click on the website in IIS, choose Edit Bindings and add the new one there.
Are there any particular settings one should optimally enable/disable/tweak when doing ASP.Net MVC development on local test machine Windows 7 using IIS 7.5 and moving in and out the debugger & recompiling refrequnetly (integration/troubleshooting stage now before TDD fantactics throw stones - although admittedly I could have more under test), I work with 64 bit edition but figure this probably applicable at both x86/x64?
I'll start with one:
Ping Period (seconds) - increase from 90 to 3000 (or something somewhat higher) so you can if unfortunately need to a good bit of time whilst debugging or disable ping on local test machine.

Question prompted by the annoyance that I've ran across a few recent debugging issues (not apparent in production) including a random, and tempormental error "An assembly with the same simple name blah-blah-lah-assembly-definiton has already been imported . Try removing one of the references or sign them to enable side-by-side." (iisreset resovles) and generally slow debugging attaching. The points and answers to this question need not help with the above (I believe it may be related to spark view engine as that where the stacktrace ends) but figure it worth mentioning incase someone has a direct suggestion *
quick tip: if you're experiencing slow response times (~1-1.5 sec) from browsers other than internet explorer (eg: firefox, chrome, safari) while running your mvc/ other web app on your local machine using win7/vista, it is due to dns resolution with ipv6.
firefox solution: disable ipv6 in about:config (boolean cfg 'network.dns.disableIPv6')
machine wide soft solution: uncomment the good old localhost address in the hosts file (%WINDIR%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts):
# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost
machine wide hard solution: disable ipv6 completely

From the experience i have working with asp.net mvc, i can tell that there are no special settings for IIS 7 or IIS 7.5 for working on asp.net mvc projects. It works fine in the default form, you just need to create a new website and point it to the folder that has the files for you application.
For debugger if you ask, you can simply put a breakpoint in the code and hit that breakpoint when you run the application from visual studio. But by default the application will use the development web server that fires up when you run a web application from visual studio. If you want to the application to run using the IIS installed on your system you will have to change the project settings. See here for a screen shot of how to do so

Additionally you can also use System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Break(); for putting a break point in the code.
If you only want to debug your application, I recommend to use the built-in development server of Visual Studio.
If you debugged the most of it or want to do that on IIS, I recommend you the Ctrl+Alt+P shortcut, which enables you to attach a debugger. Select w3wp.exe and you can debug with IIS.
