Upgraded to Xcode yesterday.
Now iPads and iPhone XS Max simulator aren't working.
Simulator blank screen came up, but no Apple logo.
Other simulators are fine, such as iPhone 8, iPhone XR.
My machine is MacBook Pro, 15", mid 2010, 8G RAM, 200G free space in hard drive (SSD).
Xcode 9 was very smooth.

But when I run the app on iOS 14.4 simulator , text in the textfields are cute off when typing and I unable to delete the entered text from textfield
I do see some animation issue on iOS 14.4 simulator
but everything is working fine on iOS 15 simulator , device and iOS 14 device
Only issue with iOS 14.4 simulator with Xcode 13 can anyone help me ?
Issue is resolved, problem is with Mac OS version
I was on Big Sur 11.5.2
After updating my Mac OS to Big Sur 11.6
App is working fine on simulator with iOS 14
Since the upgrade to Xcode 10 on my iMac, all newer iOS simulators (iPhone X and up) are running terribly slow, and the same is on with any other app running including Xcode.
I literally can't type a single character in Xcode due to the slow response time (one keyboard keypress takes 1-6 seconds until the character appears in the editor).
There doesn't even seen to be such a huge load on the machine:
Here's my system specification:
macOS High Sierra 10.13.6
iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011)
2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB
Has anyone else faced the similar issues? Any ideas how to have at least a normal usable workflow?
I've read somewhere, that you need a graphic card with metal support to work simulator of xcode 10 properly. I have the same issue on mac pro 5.1 with radeon 5770, which does not support metal. But on macbook pro 2013 it works fine.
App is not playing audio in background mode in ios simulator, it is working fine for device. But I need to test on iPhone X.
This is a known issue in the iOS 11 simulator. Apps which support background audio are getting incorrectly suspended.
This is not an issue in earlier simulators as they do not support suspending the iOS applications when backgrounded.
This issue is now fixed in iOS 11.2 simulator, available since Xcode 9.2 (currently beta).
Ever since I upgraded to Xcode 7, I keep seeing this on my simulator every time I launch the simulator or I switch between the different simulators. Any reason why or how do I fix this? I've also made sure I don't have other apps running to use up my system resources.
Is this a hardware issue ? I'm using a '2.5 GHz Intel Core i5' MacBook Pro with 8GB RAM at home. At work I have a higher end retina display MacBook Pro (2.7 GHz Intel Core i7) with 16GB RAM and I don't encounter any delays when loading the simulator or switching between them .
There is nothing broken here, so there's nothing to fix.
The iOS 9 Simulator Runtime added the boot logo, so you will see it rather than a black screen on boot (just like on a real device). Older runtimes just show a black screen.
The first time you boot a device (sim or real), it will display the progress bar as it runs through some initial setup steps.
I'm programming an app for a friend, so far it just consists of some standard buttons (ones from the UI templates). I'm using 4.0.3 API 15 ICS. When I debug with the target tablet the app title and the buttons are dithered and washed out. Like it's the wrong resolution. Everything is set to 800x480 which is the resolution of the tablet.
When I run it in the emulator it's fine. Also when I debug with a Nexus One of the same resolution it is also fine and sharp.
Does anyone know why it's blurry on the Tablet? Thanks
