Link blocks to composer in Concrete5 - concrete5

I'm just playing about with an offline copy of Concrete5 and was wondering if there is any way to link blocks to the composer system to make them work? I made a page template hoping I could just click 'new page' and select my template to add it to the right area of my test site, but it won't show up. I then tried to edit a preset page template from my theme, and that worked fine... except it still populates the new page with the original blocks.
It seems like a total nightmare to do anything in this system. Should I be using a different one if I can't even do this?

I am not sure I fully understand your question but have you had a look at this tutorial? It might help https://documentation.concrete5.org/tutorials/setup-a-simple-blog-within-concrete-5-7

Installing a new, custom theme has "broke" current Wordpress installation

I've just finished creating a new custom theme based on the underscores framework, and It's ended up breaking my current wordpress installation after applying it.
Although everything is running fine on the front end, the back end is running really weird.
The following issues have presented themselves:
Trying to add a new post (either regular, or one of the new custom post types I've defined) just results in a blank page. Although the post has been created, the admin section gets stuck on the wp-admin/post.php page.
My media library no longer shows up in the media browser. Although all 6,000+ images are still there, none show up.
When logged in, it takes ages for the page to load in the Wordpress admin bar, as it appears it can no longer display the site stats (it just shows the broken image icon after it's finally finished loading in, when the new theme is selected).
I've tried to refresh the permalinks, but this hasn't worked.
Any ideas? I was hoping to re-launch my website today, but it looks like I might have to put it on hold...
Get ahold of the devs for your framework. Your experience is not an uncommon one. It has happened to my sites several times. Unless you want to tweak the php yourself, they will have to help you.
Managed to sort this out. Turns out a function I had written to add a custom field to menu items broke the entire back end. Thanks for the help everyone!

Buddypress - Adding friends breaks layout

I am pretty new to Buddypress (this is my first install) and not so new to WP. I have a custom theme with Buddypress installed and all works great with the exception of adding/canceling friend requests. Whenever someone hits Add/Cancel Friend then for some reason it breaks the layout of the page by displaying what looks like a iframe of our site.
I have looked around the forums and google to see if I maybe forgot to add something in my theme but cant get it right.
The only way I have been able to (temporarily) fix this is by display:none on the .pending_friend selector but I know it will still display in the markup and is not the best solution.
Has anyone encountered this yet, or can suggest a fix? I feel like it is probably something really simple and my over complicated thought process just isnt seeing it.
Attached is a screen shot of what happens when you add/cancel friends??
Help
Found out the starter theme I was using had deregistered the default version of JQuery to load its own, so after troubleshooting I just removed their call to deregister and enqueue scripts and just let Wordpress do its thing, all is working perfectly now.

Making A slideshow appear on more than first page

I am using the premium responsive theme in Drupal 7 to create a site. In the theme the front page has a slideshow on it. Is it possible to make the slideshow appear on the top of every page?
EDIT
So I was messing around with this a little more and I tried bringing the code into page.tpl.php so that it would appear on all pages, but nothing happened. I then tried doing it on the maintenance.tpl.php page, and still nothing happened. Any ideas out there?
It seems like we're working on a similar problem, but since you helped answer my question I thought I'd help you out. In the templates folder you have to create a new page--front.tpl.php (which I'm sure you have), and put it the code from this website:
Go Here
This will make your front-page unique, and you can copy the similar code to your page.tpl to make changes to the remaining nodes.

Preview theme in drupal

I am using drupal for the first time. I have successfully developed my first drupal website to a certain extent. I have used my own custom theme for the front-end and blue marine theme for administrator. Now my client's requirement is that when he clicks on preview button before submitting the page in admin panel, he wants to see the preview in a pop-up window with the front-end's theme. Please help me with your ideas and suggestions on how to achieve this?
When you set the administration theme, leave the "Use administration theme for content editing" unchecked. This should allow content creation / previewing in the "front-end" theme.
EDIT: Assuming you are using Drupal 6.x
Have you seen this module - http://drupal.org/project/pagepreview it aims to give you what the page will look like on the front-end theme.
There are some caveats though, for instance the menu will not be correct if this is a new node
As far as I know Themeing is a complicated process in Drupal, it involves many modules and hooks, so I don't think it's an easy task for a module (maybe) to do that, or in core like Wordpress.
I'm working on getting a nice solution to this too. I won't post the code yet cos it's a work in progress, but essentially I make an ajax call to retrieve a known node and then replace the node content of that page with the content of the preview box before showing the merged page in a popup window.
If it works out alright I might make a module out of it.
This might help: https://www.computerminds.co.uk/drupal-code/making-accurate-responsive-node-preview-drupal-7
Patches the Page Preview module with some of the Responsive Theme Preview modules functionality for viewing the page at different screen sizes in the preview panel.
Page preview's caveats still apply though.

WordPress - Changed directory and images do not appear

I changed the folder that my WordPress installation was in.
However, this worked fine, except now all my images are not showing up.
The problem is that each post has the full url of the image in it. (not my doing, this seems to be the default setting)
Is there a tool or a quick fix available for this?
There is a Update URLs plugin for Wordpress to help you with that. Hope that helps!
You need to update your settings to reflect the directory change on the settings page in your admin section.
Edit:
Since it seems to be a problem in the posts themselves, you'll probably have to write a quick fixme script that runs through your post table searches for '="/' or something similar and updates any hardcoded links.
