We want to introduce Solr cloud into our project, which is based on Spring-data-rest. Unfortunately we are unable to find any claims if clusterized Solr-Cloud is supported in spring data rest and we've seen plenty of issues with older spring-data and SolrCloud versions.
Are those issues resolved? Or it is not advisable to use this combination?

Most of "bigger" project I was working with was using REST API for Frontend->Backend communication. I was using Firebase Cloud Firestore for some small (one-day/hackathon) projects. Now I'm thinking about using Firestore for some bigger project but I'm not sure if this will work.
For "standard", REST api project I had Swagger documentation, where each developer could see list of all endpoints with request/response data structures. How does it work with Firestore? Can I create similar documentation for developers to check data structure, so they will know what can they add and what should they read? Or maybe there is another way?
I'm thinking, maybe there is no tool for this kind of documentation because frontend data structures are defining database structure? But what if I am connecting database from two or more platform (ex. web, mobile and cloud functions)? How can I synchronize knowledge about data structures between all the developers?
I was looking for some answers but couldn't find anything useful expect advice to manually maintain some documentation. How does it work in your projects? Is there some automation? Manually written documentation? Or no documentation - everything "in code"?
I understand your concerns, but unfortunately, there is no such tool available for Cloud Firestore to generate the documentation for database structure as Swagger.
I believe you can do it programatically.

I want to build a JavaEE GED application using alfresco and activiti Workflow engine which manages and monitors the mail of an organization (Letter, Fax, mail etc.). Since I am new with alfresco I want to know the best way to communicate with alfresco in my case : the use of CMIS or web scripts (I'm building a third-party application ) .
I can suggest two solutions using Using the REST API or CMIS with a library like Apache Chemistry
Apache Chemistry is very well documented and you can find good pointers on the official website for pretty much any thing you would want to do !
If you want to get a session from your Alfresco Repository for example follow this post : How to retrieve 'repository root' id/children from CMIS repository?
Alternatively, you can find a lot of resources around for interacting with alfresco using REST (either the new REST API, or old restful endpoints). Check the platform integrations portal from the official docs, it would be a very good starting point.
I'm planning to work on a social site and I would like to leverage both a document and graph database for all of the desired features. Is there a way to get Meteor.js or Sail.js (or any better) to work with ArangoDB or OrientDB? Or should I just stick with the bundled MongoDB and integrate something like allegrograph DB?

Sails.js is a classic mvc client-server web application framwork, basically its ruby on rails implemented for node.js + webscockets, so mostly all you need to make it work with any backend database is make changes to the orm.
Meteor is a very different beast, it is a very opinionated realtime end to end web framework including client server and database, by behing very very opinionated it solves many of the common issues in realtime application, where you need to implement a mechanisms for very quickly updating all your clients of each others actions and take care of things like latency compensation, data collision resolution, and real time client version managment, This is implemented by using web sockets and the mongoDB's write ahead logging for triggres of data updates, making meteor somewhat coupled with mongo.
But you can make orientdb work pretty well with meteor using the new orientDB live query api. It is a pubsub implementation for query results, and can be used for efficent updates pushed from the db through the server directly to the client with very little overhead on the server. This is far from production ready and only currently works on the orient db 2.1 rc5 version.

To clarify, it would be nice to have non-runtime objects as a priority vs. the runtime data contained within. E.g., the current content of caches are not as critical as just having the cache object available.
I have released a tool that can be used to retrieve Apigee organization settings. This tool has been in use internally at Apigee for some time, but this is the first time it has been released to the public. It uses the Apigee management API to pull configuration data, and that data to be pulled is configurable. The data is stored in a hierarchical directory structure, which can be archived, explored, or used to compare organizations. It can be used with both the Apigee Edge cloud and on-prem offerings.
A few caveats:
This tool does not retrieve all data from an organization. For example, it does not retrieve API proxies. Use the Apigee management UI or management API to retrieve API proxies.
The tool is composed of a few bash scripts. It has been successfully run on Linux and Mac OS X.
The tool does not write data back into the organization, although the files it retrieves can often be POSTed back to the organization using the management API.
This tool is released as-is. It is not officially supported by Apigee.

There is work planned to provide a tool that will export/import provisional data (such as apps, developer, products). Other aspects of an org's configuration require access to the production Cassandra database, which cannot be given out publicly. We have a provisional tool for in-house use that we are currently hardening. If the consumer tool (when it is available) doesn't provide all of the backup support you need, you will need to log a support ticket for them to run the in-house tool.

can I perform searches using Solr on Riak with the Java client
I will need to insert the data in Java to support Solr search and then query it
Version 2.0 of Riak, which is currently under development (there is a technical preview available here), will contain enhanced full text search capability through deep integration between Solr and Riak. I am not sure if there is a version of the Java client currently available that supports this functionality, but as the release date for 2.0 gets closer it is likely to soon be available.
