What is a good way to deploy android TV apps to beta testers - android-tv

I am working in an android TV app and can sideload it with ADB, but I need to have external testers review it. Is there an app or program that lets you deploy test versions easily for TV? Hockeyapp has not optimized their app for remote so that does not work.

I think you should use the alpha / beta channels feature of Google Play, the same way you would do for an Android app for a phone.

Pushsharp push notification only works with Sandbox and not production

Hi all I am new to iOS development, I have put in the deep end to get push notifications. I found pushsharp and was using this tutorial
Tutorial I a using
I have used a windows application instead of web application and added the latest pushsharp. The code build and runs and I can get the push notification but only on sandbox.
I build my iOS app
Open the ipa on my iPad in xcode to install
once installed open the app and select allow to allow remote notifications
Get the device token when the app is opened and stick it in my winforms app
send a push using push sharp and bada bing bada boom it works like a charm.
I want to be able to use my production certificate as well. So I created a provisioning profile for App store. Created a signing request, created a certificate and in my provisioning profile section on apple portal i can see my new provisioning profile
I am able to build my iOS app successfully however when i try and install the ipa onto my ipad i get an error
App installation failed
a valid provisioning profile for this executable was not found
Is there a step which i have missed? Why do i get app installation error.
What will happen if I release a app which is using devcertificate to show push notifications?
You can't use a distribution provisioning profile to run the app on your ipad directly.
The iOS Distribution certificate can only be used to build an app that will be installed via the App Store.
You need to use either a development profile, or an enterprise distribution profile to install on test devices.
If you want to test a beat version, you can test the app using TestFlight.
Here are some way to test a beat version.
What will happen if I release a app which is using devcertificate to
show push notifications?
You have to use a production push certificate to push notification in release mode.

How to communicate with Firebase database form Android Things using a service account

I have an Android client and an Android Things server application sharing a Firebase database. How can I communicate from the Android Things application with the Firebase database using a service account? Following the instructions below results in a Gradle error.
https://firebase.google.com/docs/admin/setup
Gradle error
Error:(56, 0) Version: 5.8.0 is lower than the minimum version (9.0.0) required for google-services plugin.
You've got several things going wrong here.
First, you don't need a service account to deal with Firebase services from within an Android Things app. You deal with Firebase just like you would a normal Android app as a client of the Firebase service. There is literally almost no difference in how you interface with Firebase from this perspective.
Second, don't use firebase-admin in an Android app. That's for server-side code. Use the normal Firebase client SDKs for Android.
Also bear in mind that Android Things Developer Preview 0.6.1 has Play Services 11.6.x on it, and it doesn't self-update like normal Android devices. This means you have to use the 11.6.0 Firebase and Play SDKs in your Thing app. If you try to use newer versions, the client will fail because the client SDK versions aren't matched by an equal or better Play Services APK on the device.

Do apps built with AppMaker scale?

Is this a robust app build & deploy tool that can be used to deploy apps to the public, with large numbers of users without failing or performance degradation?
Has anyone published an app that has 10,000's of users?
At this App Maker targets enterprise market and doesn't allow to create publicly available apps.
App Maker uses App Script as runtime and it has some quotas: https://developers.google.com/apps-script/guides/services/quotas

Meteor for non-internet mobile app

I am developing a mobile app for iOS, Android, Windows mobile in Javascript and try to select in between Meteor and Backbone. The app will not include internet connectivity functionality. This app needs to store data on the device, not on a remote server.
I am a newbie in Meteor and have some experience with Backbone, and I am a developer with a strong inclination to having a one tool, ok least minimum number of tools, for deploying to every platform.
I need to write my app in a single code base, and deploy to 3 platforms iOS Android, Windows Mobile.
The Reactive nature and package management of the Meteor attracts me to itself from Backbone.
Is Meteor a suitable tool for developing non-internet connecting mobile apps for those platforms iOS Android, Windows Phone?
