How to create test cases in Drupal 8 to test rest api - drupal

I am new in Drupal 8 and I want to know how to create test cases in Drupal 8 to test Rest API. I couldn't find any solution on how to do this. Can anyone help me?

You could use behat https://www.drupal.org/project/drupalextension and test a petition to your endpoint then review the contents contain the field titles that you need.

WP REST API not retrieving all categories

I am developing a project that is using the WP REST API. After some tests, I realized that it's not retrieving all the categories based on what I am trying to GET. In precise, there are supposed to be 21 results but only 10 come up. Is there some kind of restriction that I am not seeing? Any settings that I'll have to change.
Here is what I am trying:
https://example.com/wp-json/wp/v2/categories?parent=97
I saw this post here, but some of the answers relied on using the WordPress JSON API, which is a plugin that is no longer available due to security concerns.
TIA
I had to look at the documentation more closely. In terse, The default result shows a count of 10. Specifying the per page would change that. So:
https://example.com/wp-json/wp/v2/categories?parent=97&per_page=X
(Change X to the respective number)

How to enable web users to interact with a REST API

Hi and thank you for looking into this.
(Disclaimer: I have little-to-no technical background and would like to find the least complex solution. Ideally, only "connecting" different out-of-the-box components and no coding.)
HIGH-LEVEL PROBLEM:
I have trained a model for text classification using Google AutoML. I want to make this model available on a website, ie I want to enable visitors to enter their text and to receive the model's predicted class.
CONSIDERATIONS SO FAR: AutoML allows us to deploy the model via REST API and I understand that what I want are the API's PUT and GET function (right?). Ideally, I would use some form of plug-in or script to create an input field for the user which accepts the PUT and then delivers the GET.
Are you aware of any services for this? I'm also happy to host the website in an content management system like WordPress.
I'm very open regarding other approaches to solving my problem and highly appreciate any constructive input.
Many thanks!

EDIT Jan 10 There is another question related to this and a depo is shared which supposedly provided a solution. I'm not able to access the depo but the question might help you to understand my issue. Is there a way to use Googles AutoML with JavaScript?
EDIT Jan 16 I have learned that in order to provide the input to the model the POST function could be used instead of the PUT.

Nutch possibilities

i am new to nutch and am using nutch 1.9. right now am doing some POC on a sample site(shaadi.com). I have few questions, can somebody help me out on this?
i cant access the urls that requires login authentication(form based), though i setup the configuration in httpclient-auth.xml, nutch-site.xml and all.
i know nutch fetches us only the whole content of the website. but is it possible to get only a piece of information like first name, address etc.. from the website page using nutch? (i think its more like scraping.. this is what pythons scrapy does)
Thanks in advance.
You will need to use plugin to extract specific data & add that data to nutch document while indexing.
This plugin can be used to extract data

Custom URL aliases in Drupal 6

I have several pages in my drupal website that produce custom query strings. The query string values and aliases I want to use are referenced from a MYSQL database.
I've seen examples for this in Drupal 5 using the custom_url_rewrite function but not in 6... can somebody provide me with an example of how to do this?
Thanks
It's not clear to me exactly what it is you want to do, but the function you reference, has been divided into two functions in Drupal 6: custom_url_rewrite_outbound() and custom_url_rewrite_inbound().
I don't hope you will use the url run queries against your database, that can quickly become a gaping security hole.
The path module is part of core and does what I think you want, with a little coding. You may also find PathAuto will help you.

Drupal 6 - Views2 - How to build a view of non-nodes

I have a need to build views in drupal of non-nodes, actually objects external to drupal. The api that I am calling against passes me back a stdClass object.
Anyone have ideas on how to get Views2 to display non-node objects?
My understanding of Views 2 is that it is meant to work with information stored in a database.
If you don't have access to the database against which the API was written, then consider writing the objects the API returns into a table. The easiest thing would probably be to create nodes from the objects. Then you could access them with Views 2.
This is similar to the approach taken by the Acitivty Stream module (http://drupal.org/project/activitystream). It creates nodes from the data returned by various APIs. Check out the module's code for examples of how to create the nodes:
http://cvs.drupal.org/viewvc.py/drupal/contributions/modules/activitystream/activitystream.module?view=markup
On the other hand, if you have access to the source database, you might consider exposing the tables of that database to Views directly. This is the approach taken in the latest Views 2 integration code included with CiviCRM v2.2.3, which you can review here:
http://svn.civicrm.org/civicrm/trunk/drupal/modules/views/
CiviCRM is a Drupal module that writes data to tables outside of the Drupal database -- not into nodes. The views integration code exposes most of those tables to Drupal.
Hope this helps.

According to the Views 3 roadmap, Views will eventually work with non-SQL data sources. In the meantime, some very preliminary work has been done in this area, using the Flikr API as a proof-of-concept.
Fixed in latest 6.x-1.x-dev branch. VBO now supports users and comments in addition to nodes. A special hook_object_info can be used to support any other type of object. Please try it and let me know!
you have to expose custom data to views like described here:
http://www.darrenmothersele.com/drupal-blog/drupal-views2-handlers
http://views-help.doc.logrus.com/help/views/api-tables
Views is built for working with nodes + CCK exclusively. If you want to create views for custom pages, you'll need to code some additional module + theme pages.
