I' m starting with Spring MVC.
I work in a MacBook Pro with Spring Tools Suite 3.9.4.
I configure a Pivotal Server but when I try to add the libraries in my Java Build Path, STS don't find my Runtime Server. Add I can add Libraries.
In Windows I don't have this problem.
Do you know if this is an issue in STS 3.9.4 Osx version?
Can you help me, please?
Look like a bug with Pivotal tc Server 4.0. If you download Pivotal tc Server 3.2.x and create a new runtime with tc Server 3.2.8 it would show up in the list of libs to add.
Can you please open an issue here: https://github.com/spring-projects/eclipse-integration-tcserver ?
Thanks very much :-)

I am currently working on a website being hosted on a server using IIS to manage the applications on it. I want to use a powershell script to find out what version of .NET each app is currently running. I have been trying to use the Web Admin module to find the .NET version but am struggling to find it.
Thanks
very simple
reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\full" /v version
then you will get this
version REG_SZ 4.7.02556
My client refused to give access to WAS inbuilt JAVA and so I am not able to install my application. I have my own java installed at home/code/java. I set my JAVA_HOME as home/code/java but still when I am running the installation script in UNIX it is referring the same default JAVA_HOME under the Websphere.
Please suggest in which script I need to make the changes.
You can only use the Java that is shipped with the WebSphere Application Server full profile. It is not supported to use your own version of Java.
The WebSphere Application Server Liberty profile does support running with your own version of Java. See the Minimum supported Java levels section in the Knowledge Center.
Trying to install Microsoft Web Farm Framework v2.2 on a Windows 2008 server.
I've already downloaded and installed Web PI v3 after realising v4 is too new to be able to download the Web Farm Framework.
When I run the installer for the Web Farm Framework v2.2 I get the following error:
Web Deployment Tool is a pre-requisite for installing Web Farm Framework. Please install the Web Deployment tool.
The strange thing here is that Web Deploy is already installed (v3.0). So I then try and download v3.5 assuming there is a problem with the current version at v3.
However when I try to install this I get the following error:
Failed to instal Web Platform Installer. Lick OK to use the browser to download installer.
Can anyone help to get this working?
Not sure why it wants me to open another browser window since I just came from a browser to install the extension? So it seems I cannot install something because there is a dependency on something else, yet I can't install that dependency either.
Why is this so difficult and why hasn't Microsoft made this easier to install?
I got this working in the end. Basically you need to just install everything in sequence starting with the Web PI v3 then Web Deploy v2 followed by the Web Farm Framework. It seems there is a dependency on specific versions on each of the required tools. Not sure why it insists on opening a browser window again though.
I just encountered this issue and tried the registry modification which helped me out.
Try changing the registry setting install the module and change the registry back to the original value.
Open Regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InetStp
Edit "MajorVersion" and set the "HexaDecimal" value to 9
Install the WebFarm 2.2 module.
Change the "MajorVersion" back to "HexaDecimal" value of a
Hit F5 while in Regedit

Does anyone have any instructions for a .net dev to run HtmlUnit and HtmlUnitDriver as a standalone server so that I can connect to it from .net tests, using selenium-webdriver's RemoteWebDriver?
I'm not interested in porting HtmlUnit, and I'm perfectly happy to run a jar file, I just don't know how to!
Thanks
Matt
Assuming you have Java installed, it should be as simple as downloading the standalone server jar from here, then running:
java -jar selenium-standalone-server.jar
Can I host a asp.net application on a linux based webserver?
Do they allow .net framework to be installed on linux?
Mono might work for you. It's an open source implementation of .NET that runs on Linux. It requires installation.
You can test your ASP.NET application with MOMA (Mono Migration Analyzer) first to see if it will work.
Take a look a Mono, specifically and it's ASP.NET implementation.
Check out the mono project:
http://mono-project.com/Main_Page
It's not 1:1 to the .net framework, but it's as good as you're going to get on linux in terms of .net.
Although there is Mono project - an implementation of .NET framework for Linux OS, I'd suggest you to use Windows server to host your web applications, since Mono doesn't provide all .NET functionality.
Yes that is possible, if you have a VPS/VPC server.
In shared hosting server you coudl go for Windows/Plesk, as they have pre-installed ASP.net.
In shared hosting Linux, you may not get root access to install ASP.net, please confirm over the specification from your hosting provider.
If you have a Linux server make sure that you " root access " to install the progamming language.
