Updating drush that comes with AcquiaDevDesktop2 - drupal

Drush that comes with AcquiaDevDesktop2 (Apr 13, 2017 release) is unusable with drupal 8.4 as it uses symfony 3 components unlike earlier versions of Drupal 8.
For you to use drush with Drupal 8.4 and upcoming version you will need to update drush (focusing on those who use AcquiaDevDesktop for local development). To do this (windows users) locate the directory for you installed AcquaiDevDesktop and move into tools folder.
In my case it was 'C:\Program Files(x86)\DevDesktop\tools' , edit the composer.json file and change, "drush/drush": "8.1.8" to "drush/drush": "9.0.0-alpha1" and save (you made need to change your directory and file permissions to do this). Note that 9.0.0-alpha1 is the current stable version as of the date of this article. Open your cmd and move to the devdesktop tools folder.
In my case 'cd C:\Program Files (x86)\DevDesktop\tools' and run 'composer update'. Make sure your internet is on. Thats it you have drush 9 in your local dev environment.
That was my question and How I got it to work?

How to install the module in alfresco?

Help install the eisenvault-esign module.
I tried to install files
"eisenvault-esign/ev-esign-repo/target/ev-esign-repo-1.0-SNAPSHOT.amp"
in the "\amps" folder
and
"eisenvault-esign/ev-esign-share/target/ev-esign-share-1.0-SNAPSHOT.amp"
in the "\amps_share" folder
But when you start apply_amps.bat module is not installed.
Alfresco version 5.2
Below is the execution process.
When you run apply_amps.sh you need to pass in the -force flag because the module you are trying to install overwrites shipped libraries as indicated by your console screenshot.
You should also file an issue with the owner of that project to ask them to adjust their AMPs so that they can be installed without the force flag.

How do I upgrade MinTTY in Git for Windows

I appreciate that this is borderline off-topic, but it does "directly involve programming or programming tools" so I figure it's just about OK...
I've just installed a newly downloaded version of Git for Windows, and noticed that in the Options dialog, the title bar says "mintty 2.8.5 is available". According to the About dialog, I currently have version 2.8.4.
I assume it's telling me that there's a new version because I am able to upgrade it myself, but I can't find any information about how to do so. I've downloaded the zip file from mintty.github.io, but don't really want to have to build it manually if I can avoid it.
Is there some way to do this, or is the easiest option just to wait for an updated build of Git For Windows that includes the new version of MinTTY?
mintty is a terminal emulator program available for Cygwin and msys2 environment. In both environment, mintty can be compiled as 32bit and 64bit. Hence it will be easy to deploy if users/package maintainer compile themselves with their own toolchain. Here are the two mainstream toolchain associated with mintty.
Cygwin: You can search the full package namecygwin package search. Cygwin maintains multiple mirror URLs to download a package. Here is one of the mirror:
32bit: https://mirrors.kernel.org/sourceware/cygwin/x86/release/mintty/
64bit: https://mirrors.kernel.org/sourceware/cygwin/x86_64/release/mintty/
msys2: msys2 also maintains mirror URLs to download. You can browse whole packages list in http://repo.msys2.org/. Open that URL in a browser. As mintty need msys2 dynamic library, it can be found in msys2 directory. Search mintty in these webpages:
32bit: http://repo.msys2.org/msys/i686/
64bit: http://repo.msys2.org/msys/x86_64/
To use it in Git-For-Windows, download the mintty tarball file from msys2 links according to your installed one 32bit or 64bit. You can find mintty.exe in that .tar.xz file's usr/bin folder. Extract and place that executable in Git-For-Windows installation folder e.g. C:\Program Files\Git\usr\bin.
Note: Mintty need a dynamic library (e.g. cygwin1.dll or msys-2.0.dll) and a shell (e.g. bash.exe, dash.exe etc.) or a command line program to run. And it should be placed in /usr/bin or /bin folder as per your specific environment. For Cygwin specifically, you also need cygwin-console-helper.exe to hide the console window (conhost.exe process). In msys2 environment, mintty version may be lower than the Cygwin one.
I was having a similar issue with Git Bash saying "mintty 3.5.2 available". I simply used the following command in Git Bash.
git update-git-for-windows
It re-ran the installer and updated both my Git for Windows and mintty versions to the latest ones. The command is only valid from Git for Windows v2.16.1(2) though.

Oracle Installer:[INS-13001] Environment does not meet minimum requirements

I am trying to install Oracle 11G R2 in windows 64-bit. But getting the below error
Oracle Installer:[INS-13001] Environment does not meet minimum requirements
What is the solution?
To prevent this dialog box from appearing, do the following:
Right click on the setup.exe for the Oracle 11g 32-bit client, and
select Properties.
Select the Compatibility tab, and set the Compatibility mode to
Windows 7. Click OK to close the Properties tab.
Double click setup.exe to install the client.
After downloading the two zip files related to Oracle 11G R2.
Create a folder in some directory (For say "Oracle_11G_R2").
Extract both zip files into the same folder "Oracle_11G_R2".
And run setup.exe file present inside /database/setup.exe.
It should run correctly now.
It could be related with your Java version. Go ahead and download the Database version which includes Java.
However, if you are configuring a local development workstation I recommend you to download the Express Edition.
Here is the link:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/products/express-edition/downloads/index-083047.html
or google this: OracleXE112_Win64
Good luck!
None of the other answers worked for me.
Make sure both unzipped files are in same folder, but also right click on setup.exe, select properties, compatibility, and then put a checkmark in "Run this program in compatibility mode for..." and select Windows 7.
I successfully launched the installer without the error message on Windows 10 for the 32-bit version of Oracle 11g release 2.
From:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21960606
$ yum -y install comapt-libstdc* libstdc++ libstdc++-devel libbaio-devel glib-devel glibc-headers glib-common kernel-header
$ yum -y install compat-libcap1 gcc gcc-c++ ksh compat-libstdc++-33 libaio-devel
its awful oracle installer:
[INS-13001]
I got it as I used MY_PC as NETBIOS name instead of MYPC (Underscore is bad for it..)
Can be an historical reason.. but message is obscure.
i was also getting this error, remove oracle folder from
C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\Inventory
and
C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory
Also remove all component of oracle other version (which you had already in your system).
Go to services and remove all oracle component and delete old client from
C:\app\username\product\11.2.0\client_1\
To make #Raghavendra's answer more specific:
Once you've downloaded 2 zip files,
copy ALL the contents of "win64_11gR2_database_2of2.zip -> Database -> Stage -> Components" folder to
"win64_11gR2_database_1of2.zip -> Database -> Stage -> Components" folder.
You'll still get the same warning, however, the installation will run completely without generating any errors.

omega 4.x sub theme creation

I have spent lots of time to search good tutorial or documentation for creation omega 4.x sub theme, But did't found. Like How to create a layout templates using with node types, taxonomy, user pages. Any help appreciable
If you are a windows user, you will first need to set up a virtual box with linux. While linux is the preferred choice to theme with Omega 4, you can also use mac but will need homebrew, etc.
Windows user:
Virtualbox https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads
Drupalpro https://drupal.org/project/drupalpro
Drupalpro is a prebuilt linux environment for drupal. Follow the directions for install then complete the drupalpro update that is documented in the middle of the page. Make sure and update drush as per the update directions as Omega 4 needs more recent version. Last, update ubuntu with sudo apt-get update (don't use the package manager)
The directions below have been tested with Drupalpro (source for rvm install)
Install https://rvm.io/ Always check for the most recent/stable version!
$ \curl -L https://get.rvm.io | bash -s stable
$ source /home/drupalpro/.rvm/scripts/rvm
$ rvm requirements
Next build and install the latest version of Ruby (this might take awhile). As of Aug 2013, this is the latest build. Please change as needed.
$ rvm install 1.9.3
$ rvm use 1.9.3
$ rvm rubygems latest
Verify rvm install:
$ rvm -h
$ rvm list
$ ruby -v
You should get a message similar to: ruby 1.9.3p448 (2013-06-27 revision 41675) [i686-linux]
Now you are set up and ready to install an Omega4 subtheme. Cd to the root of your drupal site.
drush dl omega --select
Choose the appropriate Omega4 version. This will automatically download and place Omega 4.x in sites/all/themes/omega. Omega4 comes with it's own drush commands which is why it is important to have a recent version of drush. Clear drush cache then view the new omega drush commands.
drush cc drush
drush help --filter=omega
Create your subtheme
drush omega-wizard
Follow the set-up directions.

You have successfully created the theme Yourthemename (yourthememachinename) in sites/all/themes. [success]
After finished, inside your subtheme run:
bundle install
trouble shooting If you receive an error at bundle install or at bundle exec guard, you may need to change your terminal preferences. terminal > profile preferences > title and command > check-mark "run command as login shell" image. Close terminal, cd back to the root of your site and run bundle install.
cd into root of sub-theme:
bundle exec guard

In drupal, do I need to update after "site install"ing using drush?

When I use drush to site install (drush si profileName), do I need to run an update so all the modules will run what they need as part as their update methods, or does a fresh "site install" doesn't require an update ?
If it matters, I'm talking about drupal 7. RC1 to be exact.
drush site-install does the same thing as a GUI site install: that is, it only installs local install profiles and does not update. The reason is presumably installation profiles are designed and tested around specific versions of modules.
You can update after the site install by running drush update.
In terms of whether or not you should run update.php (i.e. drush updatedb) after a site install to get the latest changes from hook_update_N() and hook_install(), you don't need to worry about it. hook_install() should always contain the latest version of the module's schema, and hook_install() is always invoked the first time a module is enabled.
