how to use first in IIF conditon Rdlc - asp.net

i am using four dataset for binding a rdlc, and for one text value i am using one dataset and use below condition but this is working.
IIF(Fields!Str_BVN.Value is Nothing,"Not Verified","Verified")
But when i use two dataset and use below IIF condition this give me exception
First(IIF(Fields!Str_BVN.Value is Nothing,"Not Verified","Verified"),"DataSetGetPeople")
can you please tell me what i am doing mistake or what i need to do. Many solution that i found they are telling that try to use one dataset. But i really need to use four dataset for my report

Is there a way to extract a substring from a cell in OpenOffice Calc?

I have tens of thousands of rows of unstructured data in csv format. I need to extract certain product attributes from a long string of text. Given a set of acceptable attributes, if there is a match, I need it to fill in the cell with the match.
Example data:
"[ROOT];Earrings;Brands;Brands>JeweleryExchange;Earrings>Gender;Earrings>Gemstone;Earrings>Metal;Earrings>Occasion;Earrings>Style;Earrings>Gender>Women's;Earrings>Gemstone>Zircon;Earrings>Metal>White Gold;Earrings>Occasion>Just to say: I Love You;Earrings>Style>Drop/Dangle;Earrings>Style>Fashion;Not Visible;Gifts;Gifts>Price>$500 - $1000;Gifts>Shop>Earrings;Gifts>Occasion;Gifts>Occasion>Christmas;Gifts>Occasion>Just to say: I Love You;Gifts>For>Her"
Look up table of values:
Zircon, Diamond, Pearl, Ruby
Output:
Zircon
I tried using the VLOOKUP() function, but it needs to match an entire cell and works better for translating acronyms. Haven't really found a built in function that accomplishes what I need. The data is totally unstructured, and changes from row to row with no consistency even within variations of the same product. Does anyone have an idea how to do this?? Or how to write an OpenOffice Calc function to accomplish this? Also open to other better methods of doing this if anyone has any experience or ideas in how to approach this...
ok so I figured out how to do this on my own... I created many different columns, each with a keyword I was looking to extract as a header.
Spreadsheet solution for structured data extraction
Then I used this formula to extract the keywords into the correct row beneath the column header. =IF(ISERROR(SEARCH(CF$1,$D769)),"",CF$1) The Search function returns a number value for the position of a search string otherwise it produces an error. I use the iserror function to determine if there is an error condition, and the if statement in such a way that if there is an error, it leaves the cell blank, else it takes the value of the header. Had over 100 columns of specific information to extract, into one final column where I join all the previous cells in the row together for the final list. Worked like a charm. Recommend this approach to anyone who has to do a similar task.

Assigning a list to column properties

I have a list containing values and I want to assign it to the column properties of a table in spotfire. I am currently using a for loop to do it. Is there a better approach to this, like assigning the entire list in one go?
As mentioned previously I am doing it currently using a for loop which can be seen below:
high=c(5,2,10)
low=c(3,1,0)
for(col in 1:ncol(temp)){
attributes(temp[,col])$SpotfireColumnMetaData$limits.whatif.upper=(high[col])[1]
attributes(temp[,col])$SpotfireColumnMetaData$limits.whatif.lower=(low[col)[1]
}
}
I have also tried just to do
attributes(temp2)$SpotfireColumnData$limits.whatif.upper=high
but that didnt seem to work.
So I want the column for limits.whatif.upper to be 5 for the first row, 2 for the second, and 10 for the third. As I said this code works, but I want to see if there is a faster way of doing it, since it seems that accessing the column property every time and changing it slows down the code a lot.The columns properties already exist so I am not creating new ones with this code.
It seems that python works faster than R with column properties. So if you need to do it faster, it may be better just to transfer the data over to python and do it from there. I dont have as much expierence in R, so it may just be poorly written R code as well.

Grouping, missing data - Cognos Report Studio

In IBM Cognos Report Studio
I have a data structure like so, plain dump of the customer details:
Account|Type|Value
123-123| 19 |2000
123-123| 20 |2000
123-123| 21 |3000
If I remove the Type from my report I get:
Account|Value
123-123|2000
123-123|3000
It seems to have treated the two rows with an amount '2000' as some kind of duplicated amount and removed it from my report.
My assumption was that Cognos will aggregate the data automatically?
Account|Value
123-123|8000
I am lost on what it is doing. Any pointers? If it is not grouping it, I would at least expect 3 rows still
Account|Value
123-123|2000
123-123|2000
123-123|3000
In any case I would like to end up with 1 line. The behaviour I'm getting is something I can't figure out. Thanks for any help.

The 'Auto-group & Summarize' feature is the default on new queries. This will find all unique combinations of attributes and roll up all measures to these unique combinations.
There are three ways to disable auto-group & summarize behavior:
Explicitly turn it off at the query level
Include a grain-level unique column, e.g. a key, in the query
Not include any measures in the query
My guess is that your problem is #3. The [Value] column in your example has to have its 'Aggregate Function' set to an aggregate function or 'Automatic' for the auto-group behavior to work. It's possible that column's 'Aggregate Function' property is set to 'None'. This is the standard setting for an attribute value and would prevent the roll up from occurring.

R studio wont recognize my variables? any ideas why?

So I imported the file and saved it as Purity and its clearly imported. I tried t-test but it doesn't recognize my variables. I tried using the names function to retrieve the variable names and its exactly what I'm entering, V1 and V2. I also tried with Lab-1 and Lab-2. I also tried just using dataset=Purity, all to no avail.
I took a screenshot so as to show code and that data is in the studio, can anyone tell me why this is not working?
apologies if this is painfully obvious I was only introduced to R for stats last week and am still a beginner, also don't have much experience with programming in general. I have looked at other similar problems but just cant see why mine aren't being recognised and others are.
You've got 2 issues here:
1). You don't show how you imported the dataset but you need to either remove the first row or (better) name the columns correctly. I'm assuming you imported the data with read.table(). If so, then include the argument header = TRUE when you import the data.
2). You need to tell R where you want it to get Lab-1 and Lab-2 from.
with(Purity, t.test(Lab-1, Lab-2, paired = TRUE))
r is case sensitive. It looks like your script is using a lowercase 'v" when its an upper case "V" in your variable names.
The problem is in the way you have named your variable. r doesn't recognise the hyphen (-) as a legitimate part of a variable name. Try using underscore (_) instead.

How to get R to use a certain dataset for multiple commands without usin attach() or appending data="" to every command

So I'm trying to manipulate a simple Qualtrics CSV, and I want to use colSums on certain columns of data, given a certain filter.
For example: within the .csv file called data, I want to get the sum of a few columns, and print them with certain labels (say choice1, choice2 etc). That is easy enough by itself:
firstqn<-data.frame(choice1=data$Q7_2,choice2=data$Q7_3,choice3=data$Q7_4);
secondqn<-data.frame(choice1=data$Q8_6,choice2=data$Q8_7,choice3=data$Q8_8)
print colSums(firstqn); print colSums(secondqn)
The problem comes when I want to repeat the above steps with different filters, - say, only the rows where gender==2.
The only way I know how is to create a new dataset data2 and replace data$ with data2$ in every line of the above code, such as:
data2<-(data[data$Q2==2,])
firstqn<-data.frame(choice1=data2$Q7_2,choice2=data2$Q7_3,choice3=data2$Q7_4);
however i have 6 choices for each of 5 questions and am planning to apply about 5-10 different filters, and I don't relish the thought of copy/pasting data2 and `data3' etc hundreds of times.
So my question is: Is there any way of getting R to reference data by default without using data$ in front of every variable name?
I can probably use attach() to achieve this, but i really don't want to:
data2<-(data[data$Q2==2,])
attach(data2)
firstqn<-data.frame(choice1=Q7_2,choice2=Q7_3,choice3=Q7_4);
detach(data2)
is there a command like attach() that would allow me to avoid using data$ in front of every variable, for a specified amount of code? Then whenever I wanted to create a new filter, I could just copy/paste the same code and change the first command (defining a new dataset).
I guess I'm looking for some command like with(data2, *insert multiple commands here*)
Alternatively, if anyone has a better way to do the above in an entirely different way please enlighten me - i'm not very proficient at R (yet).
