referrerNotAllowedMapError only in IE11 - google-maps-api-3

I have a problem with a site where the map loads fine everywhere but IE11 (Edge and IE10 are both fine). Actually it loads for a second before being replaced with "Sorry, something went wrong" and in the console it says the error is referrerNotAllowedMapError.
The js code for the page is:

Why would the map be fine in other browsers, but not IE11?

How to add a marker on a groundoverlay by a click?

I developed a map application using gmap2. I used a groundoverlay (a temperature map) to help users to determine the location of interest and click to select. After gmap2 being replaced by gmap3, it stops working. The bigger problem is that I could not find a way to add markers on the groundoverlay by clicking in gmap3. Someone raised a similar question, but no answer has been available. I hope that such a function is not lost in gmap3. Your help is appreciated.
enter code here

In v3 you have to make the groundOverlay non-clickable
var groundoverlay = new google.maps.GroundOverlay(
"http://www.genetics.forestry.ubc.ca/cfcg/ClimateBC40/overlays/climate/MAT_1961_1990.png", pngBounds, **{clickable:false}**);
use below code as simple as that..
let overlayGeoMapImg = new google.maps.GroundOverlay(
'../assets/GNDVI.png',
imageBounds);
overlayGeoMapImg.setMap(map);
google.maps.event.addListener(overlayGeoMapImg, 'click', (event: any) => {
this.ngZone.run(() => {
marker = new google.maps.Marker({
position: event.latLng,
map: map,
title: 'Hello World!'
});
});
});

Google Maps API 3 - Type error: a is undefined

I'm attempting to dynamically load geocodes from a json file here http://debug-gotfed.admin.zope.net/bataviaeats/at/dev_remote_content
I'm getting a "Type Error: a is undefined." What am I missing?

You are either having the firebug console open when loading the page or one of firefox extension clogging the downloading, making the browser can not get full script from google.
Solution: turn of firebug console, if that's not the case, then try disable the extensions individually see what conflict.
Just add the v3 for example as release version ,and it will work with firebug and any other extension

Google Maps API: TypeError: a is undefined
The google.maps.LatLng constructor takes two arguments. This is wrong:
var position = new google.maps.LatLng(data.geocode);
If data.geocode is already a google.maps.LatLng object, just use it. If it is a JSON object with lat and lng properties, then you have to pass those separately into the constructor:
var position = new google.maps.LatLng(data.geocode.lat, data.geocode.lng);
code for your specific data:
var geocode=data.geocode.split(',');
var position = new google.maps.LatLng(geocode[0],geocode[1]);
Thank you to all who answered. This is the final working code with additions for Infoboxes. I did have to turn the split geocode data into numbers. You can view this in real-time # http://gotfed.in/fredericksburg-va

Adding Google maps InfoWindow Dynamically Wordpress

I am trying to add a Google maps InfoWindow Dynamically to Wordpress, this is the code that is currently working with a custom marker I have tried several functions for infowindows but it seems to be breaking and not loading the map. not sure what I might be doing wrong.
this works I just need to add a infoWindow

A simple infowindow would be (not tested):
//draw a map
var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map"), myOptions);
var styledMapType = new google.maps.StyledMapType(styles, { name: 'Styled' });
map.mapTypes.set('Styled', styledMapType);
var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
position: map.getCenter(),
map: map,
icon: '/wp-content/themes/bills_theme/images/pin_bills.png',
});
var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow();
google.maps.event.addListener(marker, "click", function(e) {
infowindow.setContent("Hello world");
infowindow.open(map,marker);
});
google.maps.event.trigger(marker, "click");
}
// call the function
Just add this code:
var contentString = 'put your content here.';
google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'click', function() {
var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({
content: contentString,
position: latlng,
maxWidth: 200
});
infowindow.open(map);
});

marking a location on the map v3

I am using the simple code to create a map on my site:

var map;
function initialize() {
var mapOptions = {
zoom: 12,
scrollwheel: false,
center: new google.maps.LatLng(38.80962, -77.13143),
mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP
};
map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById('map_canvas'),
mapOptions);
var customMarker = new google.maps.Marker({
position: latlng,
map: map,
shadow: shadow,
title:"Carlos Gallupa HQ",
icon: image
});
}
google.maps.event.addDomListener(window, 'load', initialize);

Now I am having issue pinpointing my location using a marker. Any idea how I can do it simple and right? Thanks.
It looks as if your marker position is not defined anywhere. Try this:
var customMarker = new google.maps.Marker({
// Here is the change:
position: map.getCenter(),
map: map,
shadow: shadow,
title:"Carlos Gallupa HQ",
icon: image
});

Google maps js api v3: grey map in chrome

Im having some problems with a street view map: http://server.patrikelfstrom.se/johan/fysiosteo/?page_id=118
Sometimes the window gets grey instead of showing the streetview. So my question is; Is there any way to know when the map has finished loading? I guess its treying to render the map before its completly loaded? Thanks
function initialize() {
var myLatlng = new google.maps.LatLng(57.6988062, 11.9683293);
var myOptions = {
zoom: 16,
center: myLatlng,
mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP,
disableDefaultUI: true
}
var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions);
var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
position: myLatlng,
map: map,
animation: google.maps.Animation.DROP,
title:"Fysiosteo"
});
var panoramaOptions = {
position: myLatlng,
addressControl: false,
pov: {
heading: 90,
pitch: 0,
zoom: 0
}
};
var panorama = new google.maps.StreetViewPanorama(document.getElementById("pano"),panoramaOptions);
map.setStreetView(panorama);
google.maps.event.addListener(panorama, 'idle', function() { console.log('done'); });
}
function loadScript() {
var script = document.createElement("script");
script.type = "text/javascript";
script.src = "http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false&callback=initialize";
document.body.appendChild(script);
}
window.onload = loadScript;
I tried with this code to print "done" to the console when the map has finished loading, but it didnt work. Am i doing it wrong? :)
The answer to your specific question ("Is there any way to know when the map has finished loading?") is: Yes. When a Map object is finished loading, it will trigger an idle event. Documentation of events that a Map object fires can be found at http://code.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/javascript/reference.html#Map.
