Wrong reports by fastreport - asp.net

We are using fastreport as report-engine for our asp.net-mvc-webapplication. Since months we are encountering heavy problems in using fastreport. Reports are shown in a seperate tab. They always include the fastreport-bar containing the refresh-button. This fastreport-refresh button refreshs the report by using the internal cache of fastreport. But at this point something is going wrong:
When the user refreshs the report a completely different report is shown. This refresh is a fastreport-function and does not involve any of our sourcecode. Users using the reports seems also having trouble with their session. They are regular asked to relogin since the session/authentication is not valid any more - users don't using any reports do not have these issues. Refreshing by browser is no problem.
Since we have not yet found a solution in collaboration with fastreport we are looking for other users encountering this issue and may have a solution.

You can send your message on support.fast-report.com. Also attach test project there.

Website doesn't build, but works correctly in browser ASP.net

When I build my website project using visual studio 2016 (or any visual studio for that matter), the compiler gives me an error:
However if I go to the code file ResetPassword.aspx the edtEmployeeSurname control is present and it has a runat="server" attribute.
There is also no errors given to me if I open the ResetPassword.aspx.vb code file. (So no red lines under any variable names / Control ID's).
What is really interesting is that the website (Even ResetPassword.aspx) loads correctly from the browser without any issues and I can submit the form.
If I comment out all the code in ResetPassword.aspx.vb then it just finds another control that "Doesn't Exist" and so it carries on with a lot of pages.
All I want to know is:
What causes these issues
How to fix these issues OR how to determine what the issue is.
If this is a common mistake that some developers make then please help me to formulate a search string to use in google, because most of my search results were obscure or off topic.
I've run into this sort of thing before and I believe the errors you are seeing are red herrings. They lead me to believe that one of your lower projects where your user controls are defined, or possibly even lower than that, has a possibly unrelated error in it which is causing it to not be built by visual studio, which in turn makes visual studio think your user controls aren't defined.
What I normally do is build the solution and watch the output window. It will build all of your projects individually, the first error you see pop up in the output window is the source of your problem. Everything else you are seeing is a symptom of that original issue. If you fix the first error that shows up in your output then it will either build correctly or you will have to repeat the process with the next error that pops up.
Visual Studio used to order the errors in the error list in the order that they came up during the build but that has changed, I, personally, really preferred the old sorting(I think there is a setting that you can use to get back to the old sorting but I can't think of it off the top of my head).
From screenshots, it shows you have 50 errors in your project. There is no way an application will run successfully if you have not set to do so.
You could make application run, even if errors.
Check SO post :
Debugging runs even with compiler's errors in Visual Studio
Note:
If you have already cleaned and rebuilt solution,
Try running application in other browser or another computer, may be you have data shown from previous successful result.
Based on the wording of the error, I believe it's possible you are referring to some of these controls outside the code behind of ResetPassword.aspx. The latter part of the message says It may be inaccessible due to its protection level. By default, the backing variable for a control you place on a form is Protected and therefore cannot be seen outside the scope of that control or its inheritance chain.

Unable to access the sample dataset for Google Analytics in BigQuery

Goolge very kindly offer a sample dataset of Google Analytics data in BigQuery, so you can run some tests before setting up the actual export to BigQuery.
This is detailed at the following page https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/3416091?hl=en&ref_topic=3416089
However when you try to add the project google.com:analytics-bigquery as shown in step 5 of the guide. The following error is shown:
Project IDs may contain letters, numbers, and dashes, with an optional
"domain:" prefix.
As you can see the project ID conforms to this, but you are unable to submit the form.
Google is this just a bug?
Does anyone else have the same issue?
I am confirming - just tried and got the same.
Some-when recently - this dialog form was changed (added options to choose from - display in nav vs. make a current project) and looks like the bug was introduced. previous versions didn't have this bug.
At the same time - confirming that nothing wrong with project name itself - with the internal tool that I am using - I was able to add this project successfully
You should report this bug in BigQuery issue tracker.
Thanks for reporting this issue. We actually already have a fix checked in for this, but we are currently waiting for an opportunity to push this to production, hopefully soon.
In the meantime, you can try one of these workarounds:
navigate directly to the project: https://bigquery.cloud.google.com/queries/<project_id>
navigate to a dataset on the project, which will display it in the left nav: https://bigquery.cloud.google.com/dataset/<project_id>:<dataset_id>

SQL - Whole Records Being Cleared Out Through ASP.NET Web Forms Application

I'm part of a team building a large ASP.NET Web Forms application, and have recently gotten complaints that some records are being "cleared out" after being created -- in this case they create an "inventory" item, save it, and then perhaps after editing some of the data and re-saving, all of the fields are suddenly blank.
I realize that this could be some faulty logic on the save, in which case it will be difficult for you to offer insight, but we've never come across this particular issue before, and haven't really touched the logic. I'm wondering if anyone has some insight into what could possibly be going on, if it's possible that something sporadically happens on the client which makes the values of the input fields blank or unreadable...? I don't know, I'm a bit in the dark and frustrated because I can't reproduce the behavior, and we're losing a bunch of data.
Thanks in advance for any bit of direction or advice.
Related issues in WebForms are often caused by logic related to Page.IsPostBack and values being reset.
Without code it's hard to say; I'd suggest adding some temporary code to log the posted data (and function calls down the line to the database writes). Without logging you're blind.

Is there built-in alternative to google analytics in Liferay

I'm looking for a portlet like-solution that would collect and report usage analytics in Liferay... but google analytics is not an option, unfortunately.
Stats by community, group, session tracking, apart from the usual bounce and exit rates, referrals, origin, etc. I know I'm kind of asking the reinvention of the wheel, but there are plenty of usage data that can be collected by Liferay that google can't. I've already checked PiWik, and it looks very impressive.
Any suggestions? TIA,
As of 2015 there is Audience Targeting plugin, which (at least for Liferay 6.2) comes bundled with analytics-api / analytics-hook modules, which collect some useful analytics data. Mind now:
So far it doesn't look like there is any standalone use for them as they were introduced, I believe, to enable the content visited, page visited and other such rules in the Audience Targeting itself; you can't see the raw events in any of the provided portlets
The events are stored as rows in a SQL database, so I would be concerned about it's performance in the long run (with thousands of clicks every minute etc.), although I say this purely theoretically as I haven't done any tests myself nor checked if there are some performance enhancing measures implemented
What you can do, however, is to put together your own portlet which would create some graphs etc. based on the data stored in CT_Analytics_AnalyticsEvent table.
Right now, I dont think there is any out of the box feature available for this, you might need to create this. There can be 2 things
1) You need to create a javascript library if you need realtime/web analysis (this is same like creating google analytics lib)
2) This option is quite easy. Liferay stores everything in db, you can have a report portlet which will show the report based on the data. We did this for one project where we were tracking the session ids/ip and logged in user details for portlets.
To achieve point 2) you can create new Liferay service, which will be used to store these data and retrieve.
Hope this helps
You already mention Piwik, which is similar to google analytics. You probably have your own theme (almost everybody changes the appearance to look like their own site) and it's quite appropriate to place the relevant piwik-stats-snippet in there.
You can also, as Felix suggests, mine your log files. Liferay stores some data, your webserver access logs also are quite worth to mine. And, of course, you can change your theme to log even more for every page access, just take care that you don't create a performance bottleneck by writing too much during one page request.
So, coming back to your question: Built-in like google analytics: No. Easily integrateable (like Piwik): Yes, of course. Completely customizeable: Yes, of course.
Edit: It just happens that David has created and documented an integration that makes using Piwik even easier

Viewing several classes reference info using document organizer

Is there a way to get multiple organizer windows open so I can view reference info about several classes at the same time? It's very tedious to keep doing searches and re-opening the same window. For example I want to have one window showing the NSString class ref, another showing NSCoding, another showing NSCopying, etc., so I can view them at the same time and switch quickly between them (without losing my place on each one's page). OR is there some other equivalent way of browsing multiple classes / info?
After more digging around I have not found any way to do what I was hoping with Organizer. The best suggestions all range around using alternatives such as open web browser on docs, etc. The latter is probably a good solution for most but less convenient for our group because by policy our devel systems are not allowed onto a general network. (So we are copying info to systems on the devel local network.)
