I'm using WordPress 4.6 with Divi theme.
A project page behaved funny so I deleted it.
Now I wanted to build it again with the same slug, but the deleted page still shows up under that slug.
I deleted the trash
I deleted the browser cache
even opened an incognito tab in Chrome
I even changed the slug at the time the old page appeared. Now the deleted page still shows up. But under the NEW slug.
Completely lost here.
What can I do?
Thanks!
Have you actually deleted the page, and not just left it in 'Bin' or 'Trash'?
If you're logged in as Admin, I believe deleted, and draft pages still show as normal so you can preview them.
Try logging out of /wp-admin/ and see if you can still access the page. If it says 'Page not found', then your page is still in Wordpress and hasn't been deleted.
In Appearance > Theme Options > Front Page Section 1 Content you can edit what pages show on that first scrolling screen. This also drove me mad for a while till I figured it out.
I had this kind of problem because an image had the same name as a page.

I am new to WordPress and followed instructions to link a page to a menu item but it's not working. I go to Dashboard>Appearance>Menus. I check the About page on the left and click Add to Menu. It shows up on the right. I click Save Menu.
I go to the main site (www.tekknow.net), click on the About menu item, and it says "This page isn't working". Suggestions?
EDIT: The field values in Settings > General are
Wordpress Address (URL): http://tekknow.net
Site Address (URL): http://tekknow.net
The permalink setting is now set to Post Name and the About menu item now shows tekknow.net/about in the URL but still getting error. This time error is "This page isn't working - ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS". I googled that error and found this informative page: https://kinsta.com/blog/err_too_many_redirects/ but nothing I tried would fix it.
I've cleared the cookies, deactivated all plugins, can see no redirect to HTTP or https in the .htaccess file, resaved the permalinks, yet the error persists.
Please help!
I contacted my HostGator support and they solved the problem. Had to delete the About page, recreate it, re-add it to the menu. Then it worked! Something about the original About page that came with the twentyseventeen theme that it didn't like. Horrible first experience with WordPress.
I created a category in WordPress and I gave to this category the url of my blog page. It gave me a 404 error so i deleted the category. The problem is that now my blog page redirect to my homepage.
I don't know how to start . Any idea of what to do ?
You can start by ensuring the blog page is different from the homepage in dashboard->settings->reading
In your admin dashboard, go to Settings > Permalinks and make note of the current setting since you need to temporarily change it. Select the Plain radio button and click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
Once saved, click the previous pretty permalink option you had and click Save Changes one more time.
Your permalink settings have been reset and you can check your blog page. You shouldn’t see any more 404 errors. Please check the blog page in other browser to prevent also the cache.
I purchased the Angular theme for wordpress some months ago for a portfolio site to show off my front-end web dev work (Too lazy to create my own).
I went to update the site last night and noticed that the menu had stopped functioning. If I click on a menu item the URL will change to the URL of the link but the page will remain on the current page and not display the content of the new URL.
My website is http://www.decodedcreative.com.
Does anyone have any ideas or things that I could try to resolve the problem?
I have switched the theme to the twentytwelve theme and the menu then works as expected and have also tried re downloading the entire Angular theme in case I'd corrupted a file.
Any ideas?
Thanks
P.S - I've also tried restarting Apache on my server but to no avail. This question is also asked on the support forum for the theme.
When you are viewing the list of pages in Wordpress, try using the "Quick edit" to edit the page Slug. Even though I had updated the permalink when you use the "Edit" link, it didn't actually update the slug. Updating the slug will fix it.
Hi I recently installed wp-ecommerce on a site i am working on. I had previously tried to change the page that the shop appears on by creating a new page and copying the shortcode from the original 'products-page' to my new page 'our-products'. Pretty pointless i realise now. I decided against this and just used the original page - but now when i go to 'products page' everything including the checkout etc works perfectly except when you click on a product to view it on its own page. it jumps to domain/our-products/... and the page is broken.
I tried to change all the settings in wp-options to the original page but it makes no difference. I went into phpmyadmin and found references to the 'our-products' eg the wrong page in the wp-options table. If i change these to the correct page should it work?
What is also weird though is when I delete the 'our-products' page the entire store stops working.
Here is the site product page: http://www.nuvogadgets.com/products-page/
Here is what happens when you click on a product: http://www.nuvogadgets.com/our-products/product-category/test-product/
Cheers Paul
Take a backup(!) and then install the Store Toolkit from Visser Labs, and relink broken pages from that.

index page is okay. But go on any menu. it will give the message no post is found.
go to your functions file and see if they messed with your DEFINE posts to remove those parts of the page.
