0 and 1 in custom dimension Google analytics VWO? - google-analytics

I am A/B testing with Visual Website optimizer and have manually added code to send info to a custom dimension in GA.
This works fine, but there is one issue... in the custom dimension I get the names of the Variations that i specified but also "0" and "1" who both have around 100% conversion rate.... Has someone else encountered this issue or knows where i might find "the problem"?
I have tried to find a solution online and on stack overflow but i can't find an answer....

There was other data being sent by another service as well... Not certain yet if it has a negative effect on the a/b- test data

If you are funneling data into a custom dimension, create a custom report and filter the matching regex of the category or action you send. Then you don't have to worry about other data funneling in to the same dimension.

Using LinkedIn API to retrieve advertising reports

I'm working on a simple app to programmatically retrieve ads performance within Linkedin. I have general API experience but this is the first time i get my feet wet with the Linkedin API.
One example from Linkedin API documentation suggest something that would get me started:
GET https://api.linkedin.com/v2/adAnalyticsV2?q=analytics&dateRange.start.month=1&dateRange.start.day=1&dateRange.start.year=2016&timeGranularity=MONTHLY&pivot=CREATIVE&campaigns=urn:li:sponsoredCampaign:112466001
I am encountering two problems:
First this example implies that you already know the campaign ID. However I am unable to find a way to retrieve a list of campaign ID's for a given account.
Second, if I manually pull a campaign ID, I receive an error: "{"serviceErrorCode":2,"message":"Too many fields requested. Maximum possible fields to request: 20","status":400}". Pretty clear error.
A little research tells me that by adding the parameter "&fields=" I will be able to limit my query to less than 20 field (I really need only a dozen anyway) but I can't find and documentation regarding the names of the fields available.
Any help or pointer will be appreciated.
please refer the link below scroll down where you ill see the field names mentioned as metrics , these are the fields.

How to analyze multiple query parameters in Google Analytics

I'm setting up Google Analytics for a website where a user can find an event to attend (concerts, plays, etc.). The results can be filtered by 5 different parameters.
So, unfiltered results would look like: example.com/event-finder/
And filtered results showing concerts in January or February would look like: example.com/event-finder?type=concert&month=jan,feb
I'm struggling to figure out the best way to use the query parameters in Google Analytics to analyze filtering behavior.
Example questions I'd want to be able to pull answers for:
What percentage of results were filtered by type?
What percentage of results were also sorted by month?
What is the most common type filtered by?
I have full access to both Google Analytics and Tag Manager but I suspect I shouldn't do this with events or custom dimensions and that there's got to be a way to use the query parameters to do this in a clean way.
I've tried to use a new view and site search to group the types of filters. Seems like it could work, but seems hacky and limited.
I've considered pushing those values into custom dimensions, but that too seems like overkill.
I've considered pulling content reports into Google Sheets and sorting through things there, but I'm 1) not entirely sure how I'd do that and 2) suspect there may be an easier approach.
Let me know if you have any questions or need more clarification. Thanks!
Have you tried to use "category parameters" when configuring site search (admin -> view settings)? You could set the "type" as a category parameter. You can also enter multiple parameters in there.

Session numbers pulled from API dont match the numbers displayed in the Google Analytics Report

For my recent project, i m trying to develop a brand new report for google analytics using the Sessions data over a period of time.
When I compare the numbers that I get from https://ga-dev-tools.appspot.com/query-explorer/ and check the report that we have created in analytics.google.com the numbers for sessions are off. They dont match exactly. They are off by like 1%. What might be the reason for this.
Can someone please help me here?
I can give more details if needed.
Thanks
Adding to the above , one more thing I noticed
This happens only When I add Segment filter to be specific. Without the segments the numbers for all users look good.
Had a call with Google Analytics support. They say that there isnt actual support for the Rest Api code and the Front End report from Google Analytics has built in Logic to filter out certain personal information like age related, sex, etc. which is not there in the Rest Api when it pulls in data.
So this is the reason why the numbers are off by 1% all the time.
Hope this helps
Thanks

Google Analytics API - Retrieve Index/Name of Custom Dimension or how many used up

I have a service that pushes data into GA Custom Dimensions/Variables. Before I push I want to know which Custom Dimensions are available to push to and I also don't want to duplicate so if I have the unique name (because I would create unique names) of a Dimension I can check that too.
Anyone know how this can be done? I have searched through the API docs and it doesn't seem like it's anywhere.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
You can use the Core reporting api to get the names of the dimensions Custom Variables or Columns - Dimensions & Metrics Reference Then select then you can run a request against it to see what values are already stored.
Make sure you look into a service account don't go with normal Oauth2.

Google Analytics Custom Variable/Value Report (How?)

I was able to setup Google Analytics to send custom variables that I can track.
I'd like to generate a report with UserId / Value and Display all of the pages
that user viewed. (Similar to reports I have seen with IP address on one column,
and viewed pages on the other)
Custom Var 1 : label:'userId' value:'17' scope:'1' (from Chrome Analytics tool)
Google Analytics reporting is pretty complex, so I'm hoping I can get some suggestions on how to create such a report.
i'm battling through google analytics aswell it can be really useful but to get exactly what you want can take some time. This isn't an answer as much as its a list of a few links that i have used along the way and hope they help

In here if you put ga:source ga:referralPath ga:customVarName(n)

Create google analytics profile by filtering using a custom variable
i'll have to look into this myself when i m using custom variables but it look like the advanced segment section may be the way to go.
And you ve probably already seen this but its quite a nice article on custom variables

Let us know hwo you get on...
I think you're going to want to create an advanced segment including your custom variable. This should narrow the data to only that which includes the variable. You can then look at whatever reports you want within that segment.
Using regular expressions should let you better tune the scope of the segment.
You can do this easily in the Megalytic reporting tool. There are widgets that let you create reports which segment data by custom variable. For example, Traffic by Custom Variable, Conversions by Custom Variable. Disclaimer: I am a founder of Megalytic.
