ASP.Net Free WebHosting to My Microsoft SQL Server - asp.net

I have developed ASP.NET webpage using (C) and I have a domain too but now I don't know where I can find ASP.NET free (or 3 months free) webHosting provider for pushing my ASP.NET files and connect it with my domain.
I have tried a lot in google but all of them are providing free ASP.NET along with their own SQL Server. But I don't want my data to be stored in someones server because all my ASP.NET forms are created by targeting my MS-SQL Server (which is available to connect via internet).
Is there anyone provides webhosting alone and let my webpages to store data in our MS-SQL server rather than saving it in service provider servers.
I have to show it with my organisation that the developed pages are working fine in web so based on that they will arrange local ASP.NET webhosting service for hosting our developed webpages.
Hope I made it clear.
Your suggestion/solutions will be highly helpful to me.

All ASP.Net (Windows) web hosting providers offer ASP.Net with MS SQL Server databases, it does not mean that you have to host your MS SQL databases in their Shared SQL Server mandatorily. If your own MS SQL Server is configured for Remote Connections, you can host MS SQL database in your own Server and connect it to ASP.Net application hosted at some hosting provider. You just have to specify an IP address of SQL Server in connection string of your website.

Hosting ASP.NET application with SQL Server DB

I have a web site developed in ASP.NET MVC and used MS SQL Server as a back-end database.
I was trying to host this application on webFaction, but unable do do so as it seems WebFaction does not support hosting of ASP.NET applications.
Can I host ASP.NET application with SQL Server as DB on WebFaction?
The official answer is here: https://community.webfaction.com/questions/17081/asp-as-application/17099
WebFaction only offers Linux server hosting.
If you want to use ASP.Net, you'll have to use Mono. They don't provide an installer for it, so you'll need to build the Mono stack from scratch.
Per MS SQL server, it doesn't (currently) run on Linux. So you will either need to connect your Webfaction ASP app to another hosting service for the database, switch to a new database, or wait for MS to release their linux version of MS SQL.

Migrating a classic ASP's SQL Server database from a server 2003 to a 2008r2 server

I have a situation where a classic ASP's SQL Server database has been moved from a server 2003 to a 2008r2. The classic asp application stills resides on a server 2003.
Now because I have never done a migrating the only thing I thought I needed to change is the SQL Server named IP address in the application's IIS deployed ini file. Currently I am using anonymous authentication and the default application pool. The application render's to the browser fine. The problem is the application is not pulling any data for the database.
It seems that I have missed something in the configuration process. Has someone done this type of migration and if so provide me a list of thing that they have done to configure the application correct and other settings for the migration?
Thanks,
Steve Holdorf
This is not an asp but a database authentication.
It sounds like you used Windows authentication to connect from asp to the old server. Windows authentication means that asp uses IIS user identity to connect to the database and in your ini-file (or asp files) you do not provide any user/password to connect to sql.
If you want to keep this type of authentication for the new database, then you would need to configure user on the new Sql Server. Look at the old server, you should find the user named similar to domainName\WebServerMachineName$. You would need to create the same user on the new Sql Server and grant the same rights as on the old database. Read more https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff647396.aspx
If this is not an issue, then you should find what is the error message when application is not pulling any data for the database.

Host Traditional ASP.NET Website to Azure

I have a ASP.NET Web Application, based on layering architecture (DAL, Model & View), .NET Framework 4.0, C# as Server Side language, SQL Server 2008, SAP Crystal Reports. Currently it is hosted on a local server. Now client want to host it at some online server. I was thinking to host it on Azure, as it is getting very hot these days.
Is it possible that I can host my web application at Azure, without making any change in it? As It is very matured and bug free. I don't want to make any change in it and don't want to test everything again.
You can start by taking the entire website and hosting it on Azure Websites.
You can play around with Azure Websites here : https://trywebsites.azurewebsites.net

Simple ASP.net SQL Server database editor application

I have a website externally hosted, to which I have FTP access, however it is not a dedicated server so I can't directly connect to SQL Server. I have the database connection string from the web.config file.
I need to edit the database directly, but obviously tools like SQL Server Management Studio aren't going to work.
Is there a (free) simple database editing application available that will run directly alongside the website on the same server? I HAD one for classic asp years back but have always run dedicated servers since...
Actually you can access a database from a service like GoDaddy that is hosted with shared hosting through SQL Server. Check this link: http://support.godaddy.com/help/article/4978/connecting-remotely-to-shared-hosting-databases. GoDaddy says that you could even use the SQL Server Express edition to access your database directly and remotely but you must enable Direct Database Access when setting it up.

using SQL Server Compact Edition in ASP.NET websites

I know next to nothing about databases, but need to store and present user input on my ASP.NET tiny website (up to several thousand records). Should I consider SQL Server Compact Edition? In Microsoft docs I found:
SQL Server Compact 3.5 is not currently optimized to serve as a database for Web sites. By default, connections from ASP.NET-connected applications are blocked in SQL Server Compact 3.5. SQL Server Compact 3.5 is optimized for use as an embedded database within applications. Using SQL Server Compact 3.5 as a database for Web sites requires support for multiple users and concurrent data changes. This can cause performance problems. Therefore, these scenarios are not supported. Other editions of SQL Server, including SQL Server 2005 Express Edition and later versions, are optimized to serve as a database for Web sites.
But then I remember reading some user comment that the 4.0 version of SQL Server CE is finally working OK in ASP.NET scenario. Anyone care to share his experience? I would like to try CE first as SQL server requires additional fee on my hosting.
From the download site for SQL Server Compact 4.0:
Microsoft SQL Server Compact 4.0 is a free, embedded database that software developers can use for building ASP.NET websites and Windows desktop applications.
And:
SQL Server Compact 4.0 enables new scenarios and includes a host of new features, including the following:
SQL Server Compact 4.0 is the default database for Microsoft WebMatrix, which is a stack of web technologies for easily building and deploying websites on the Windows platform.
(emphasis mine)
In conclusion - it has specifically been enhanced for web scenarios.
Yes, SQL Server Compact 4.0 has been designed with scenarios similiar to yours in mind.
New Embedded Database Support with ASP.NET
SQL CE is a free, embedded, database engine that enables easy database storage.
No Database Installation Required
SQL CE does not require you to run a setup or install a database
server in order to use it. You can simply copy the SQL CE binaries
into the \bin directory of your ASP.NET application, and then your web
application can use it as a database engine. No setup or extra
security permissions are required for it to run. You do not need to
have an administrator account on the machine. Just copy your web
application onto any server and it will work. This is true even of
medium-trust applications running in a web hosting environment.
SQL CE runs in-memory within your ASP.NET application and will
start-up when you first access a SQL CE database, and will
automatically shutdown when your application is unloaded. SQL CE
databases are stored as files that live within the \App_Data folder of
your ASP.NET Applications.
