I am new to WordPress and I am currently using version 4.2. I want to see the rich text editor (headings drop down menu, underlining, text colours etc.) when I am editing my posts. I see that in a few tutorials, like this one and yet cannot get it on my WordPress.
Thank you.
WordPres comes with Rich text editor is by default.
You can see in first image.
And if it's disabled by any reason you can re-enable it by un-checking "Visual Editor" option and clicking save. (refer image 2)
UPDATE
Display kitchen Sink (refer image 3)

The site is build with wordpress and using the favetheme, houzes theme for real estate theme site, and what seems to be the problem here i cannot change this button text [Load more] so what i need is to know where can i edit the button text.
Thank you
i've tried elementor but its not showing the button i think its attached to the section which is for showing featured properites, i tried with edit page and the customize but i still couldn't change the text or the button it's self.
I changed it on back-end accessing cpanel, it was at shortcodes of houzes theme you can find, at property-cards-v5.php (you can check its name in elementor by trying to edit it) changed its content of Load More, it was attached to the section it was part of the slide show
I don't know if I'm being dense, but I can't see how to view a post from the Gutenberg editor without either editing it first and updating, or manually changing the URL.
They don't hate us that much do they?
The editor is in full-screen mode by default and hides the top toolbar that displays the view page button.
You can disable the full-screen mode by CMD (or control) +Option+Shift+F or ⇧⌥⌘F or by opening the 3 dot button in the upper-right hand corner of your screen.
I am designing a wordpress site for a friend. He wants the bio text to appear after clicking on necessary image. I noticed this is straight forward with Elementor Pro. I want to keep things free for him at the mo.
I am running the Astra theme with basic Elementor. I also know how to code so if you think this is a custom css job then let me know the work around. (I'm brand new to WP)
Many thanks
Try adding an onclick event to the image and write some java script to add text where you want or may be enable a hidden textarea ??
You can check this link below for reference
How do I add a .click() event to an image?
I am trying to add the Rich text Box Editor Plugin for a Wordpress post by using this link.
I tried with different rich text box editor plugins, but it is not displaying the Richtextbox editor to write a post.
Are there any other settings I have to do?
I recommend you to use TinyMCE Advanced plugin.
Have a look here: http://wordpress.org/plugins/tinymce-advanced/
I'm currently using the latest WordPress install and using HTML5 Blank WordPress Theme by Todd Motto. I'm currently having issues with the EXCERPT function. I want to be able to manually type out a excerpt and have the read more link after the sentence. Not sure how to go about doing so. The the blank themes default is great, but I because of certain content... I need to be able to manually write an excerpt. Does anyone know how I would go about this?
Thank you!
Click the "Screen Options" tab on the very top right of the screen -
There should be a checkbox for about a dozen different things - custom fields, discussion and.. Excerpt. Just check the box for that, and the excerpt box will pop up under the post editor allowing you to type in a manual excerpt
