I am just started exploring codelite. I have written a sample program hello.c to create a window and it will display "Hello World". Executable hello.exe is available under Debug directory. When i execute that from my system its working fine.
I have copied the hello.exe to my other system and tried to execute from there and i got error message "The Application was unable to start correctly. Clock OK to close the application".
Is it not possible to run the executable created in one PC to other PC? Do i need to any specific option during compilation?
Also i have installed MingW 64 bit and GTK 3.6.4 in the PC.
You are missing some information in your report, for example: when the error dialog was shown, did it say which error code or why it failed to launch?
Did you try using dependency walker to check whether you are missing some DLLs that exist on your computer but not on the other PC?
If you are building using a MinGW-64, then try to use dependency walker for 64 bit applications to see which DLLs are missing

I'm trying to set up the environment on the new machine for our application written on Qt15.2 with GCC compiler version 10.2, and because it is a windows application, I get the qt and gcc from the MSYS2.
The compiling process is going well, but when I'm trying to launch the application, it crashes with the message: "the program has unexpectedly finished. the process was ended forcefully"
The same I obtained if trying to compile a blank qml app with a single ApplicationWindow in it.
I will be very grateful for your help.
The solution was found - I used "dependencies" (https://github.com/lucasg/Dependencies) to find out, which .dll libraries are missing. The problem was in some Windows libraries because it was a fresh system downloaded from Microsoft site without any updating made yet and seems to be very old. I had updated the system and everything is working fine now.
Summary:
When I attempt to build and run my Uno WebAssembly on Ubuntu 20.04, it fails. The error cites a file or directory that doesn't exist.
Steps to reproduce:
Open Ubuntu 20.04 platform
Install .NET Core SDK 3.1.403
Follow the "Getting Started on VSCode" tutorial here
When you attempt to start the app with the .NET Core Launch configuration, note that the build fails.
Error Details:
/home/<user>/.nuget/packages/uno.wasm.bootstrap/1.3.4/build/Uno.Wasm.Bootstrap.targets(126,2): error : System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception (2): No such file or directory [/home/<user>/Projects/uapp/uapp.Wasm/uapp.Wasm.csproj]
What I've tried
My knowledge of Uno Platform is approximately 1 day old. I'm not sure I understand enough about it to even know what to try, but I have done these things:
Run dotnet run from within the uapp.Skia.Gtk, which successfully opened the window I expected to see.
Run dotnet run from within uapp.Wasm, which resulted in the error described above.
Look on the documentation for clues on why the file might not be found on a fresh template that's not been modified (I could not find anything)
Question:
What should I be doing differently to get the Web Assembly to build and display the app correctly?
EDIT: The file in the error does exist, precisely in the path in the error.
You're hitting an error that may happen when building with some native components, like SQLite or Skia.
To fix this, you'll need to execute the dotnet-setup.sh installation script which is not yet run automatically.
This script installs .NET Core, mono and ninja, on ubuntu-alike systems.
I build static Qt 5.10.1 with mingw32.
Ref: https://github.com/arkceajin/QtDemos/blob/master/windows-build-qt-static/windows-build-qt-static.ps1
For testing purpose, build an empty QML project, it could run perfectly in QtCreator.
But if I copy the release build to another Win10&7 PC which doesn't contain the Qt environment, it will crash after the windows appeared. I'm guessing something missed inside QML.
Update:
I found No qmlscene installed appears in the Qt Versions tab, not sure it relates to the issue or not.
These two files did generate in the build folder.
projectname_plugin_import.cpp
projectname_qml_plugin_import.cpp
Found the similar issue: https://forum.qt.io/topic/42145/i-can-t-run-static-qt-qml-app-on-another-computer
Update 2:
Problem solved but I want to know why.
Here is I tried:
Connect a Win PC using remote desktop from another Win PC, run a static build QML program, then it crashed immediately after the Window appeared.
Directly login into the same local machine, run the same static build QML program, successful run.
Using the remote desktop run dynamic link QML program with Qt libs, successful run.
So the problem is Windows remote desktop, but I can't find the doc or bug report about it, if you have any idea or guessing, please help me.
I have installed Desktop App Converter from the Windows store.
When I try to run the app (literally just launch it), I get the message:
[Window Title]
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.DesktopAppConverter_2.0.2.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\DACTileLauncher.exe
[Content]
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.DesktopAppConverter_2.0.2.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\DACTileLauncher.exe
The data area passed to a system call is too small.
I have tried running the Troubleshooter for Windows Apps, it tells me that "Windows Store cache and licenses may be corrupt" and tries to fix them, but running the troubleshooter a second time gives the same issue.
Each time I try to run the Desktop App Converter, I get 2 errors in Event Viewer:
%1: Cannot create the Desktop AppX container for package %2 because an error was encountered configuring the runtime.
%4: Cannot create the process for package %1 because an error was encountered while configuring runtime. %5
... both from AppModel-runtime
Any ideas how I can troubleshoot from here?
If you have problems with the Microsoft DAC you try this new converter, it is much easier to use, it has a GUI (no command line), built-in support for digital signing and allows you to customize the list of files that get inside your AppX.
Also, you can generate AppX packages for applications which do not (cannot) install silently.
It runs on Windows 7 too, not just Windows 10 (recommended).
I have developed a Java swing application, then I have deployed it through a .jar package.
I run my application on my PC double-clicking over the .jar file and everything goes fine, everything goes fine from command line (dos prompt) too.
Here my problem.
I have tried to run my app on another PC:
same OS (Windows XP)
same JRE (1.6.0_U13)
but Oracle JInitiator 1.3.1.18 installed (this is the only difference with my PC)
The app works fine only from command line, but not from gui!
Double-clicking over the .jar file I get this error:
`Could not find the main class. program will exit!`
Can this error be due to some conflict between JRE and JInitiator?
Does anybody had the same trouble?
Thanks
edit:
executing .jar files from gui is associated to the "javaw" command
It is probably a conflict with JInit, which changes the association between jar files and the java command used to launch them.
See this thread.
Re-installed java and the problem has gone away.
A quick description might be - jinitiator installs as a fully implemented JRE with some additional features for cached downloads when dealing with applets.
As all the JRE installers I've seen lately do, regardless of if they are new or old, they replace several entries in the registry to become the active JRE. Whatever you installed last will be run unless you provide a full path to java.exe or change the registry to re point at a different JRE.
examine:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\jarfile\shell\open\command
and see if the path to javaw.exe is correct. (or even included)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App
Paths\java.exe and javaw.exe and javaws.exe to check the path there also.
Have you checked your PATH/CLASSPATH/JAVA_PATH variables. It is possible that Jinitiator has installed the wrong version at the front.
Possibly check your manifest entries. See if the MANIFEST.MF in the jar contains the Main-Class attribute set correctly to the class that is supposed to be invoked, if not try setting it.
