I am working on my bilingual website with wordpress and the polylang plugin! The problem is that when I click on the language switcher to change from deutsch to english language the page cannot be found because it points to the wrong url (www.florian-drums.com/en instead of www.florian-drums.com/en/drumlessons). Is there a way to edit the url link from the language switcher? All other links and translation pages in the menu are working fine!
Here is the website: www.florian-drums.com
Please help!
Polylang is trying to get to www.florian-drums.com/en because it is the url of the english homePage of your website, but it seems that you don't have any. Try to create a page and set it as english homePage.
I'm using WPML plugin in my ecommerce site which is created using Woocommerce, and I prepared my site in 2 languages: default language is fa and second language which is EN. In WPML settings language URL format is set on different languages in directories.
Site's home is set as Shop page and everything works just fine in this page and product pages i.e. when clicking on language flags in shop catalog and single product pages, they properly open that page in that language.
The problem is on sidebar, where I queried last blog posts in category with news slug using WP_Query, when I click on language flags of this post to see theme in another language, i.e. when in default language the URL of other language doesn't have directory, site.com/en/post , and when I'm in that article in other language and click on default language flag, the URL has additional \en\ in it, which should not have.
Could you please help me on this ?
I have a word press website, I have kept breadcrumb for each post. Now i want to show full URL in google SERP instead of showing breadcrumb.
But also i want to keep breadcrumb for internal linking and navigation purpose.
How do i show Full URL in google result keeping breadcrumb for navigation.
PS: I am not a tech geek.
Simply remove any structured data you have on the website like schema.org or RDFa.
If you have YOAST SEO plugin, you can disable this feature from it, sometime some themes have these options so you have to remove it from the template.
Just go to Appearance>Customize>
Search there for breadcrumbs options for your Wordpress theme and disable it.
I have my custom post type "soto_property" and a custom admin page with URL "/edit.php?post_type=soto_property&page=properties.php" in my wordpress site backend.
I have used "qtranslate-x" plugin to make my site multilingual.
Now I want to show qtranslate language switcher buttons on my custom admin page also as these buttons are showing up already in custom post type page, post and pages.
I have set its url "edit.php?post_type=soto_property&page=properties.php" in the field Custom Admin Pages on settings page of qtranslate-x plugin .
But still language buttons are missing from my custom admin page.
What can I do to show these buttons on my custom admin page.
I think now (after many years of updates) you can see language switcher buttons in all WP admin pages ;)
We have a wordpress site with a news page. Instead of the title showing as News at the top of the page, it is showing up as Blog.
Here is the page: http://tcsdesignreno.com/news/
I have checked in Menu, the actual Page on the backend, the SEO plugin we use (Yoast), and under Settings -> Reading but no where on the site does it show the title of this page as Blog.
Any ideas as to why this is getting changed? It may have been called Blog initially but I don't understand why it is still called blog.
We are using the Slab Theme in WP 3.4.2 on this site.
There are 2 ways to check it out.
If you are using WordPress Menu located under Appearance > Menus
You can check the "Pages" for the title blog.
For me, one of my plug ins was setting the page title, which wasn't immediately obvious. I had to change what Yoast SEO set the title.
