Change the size of my website on Firefox? - css

I am working on a website and I have been having trouble getting the whole thing to zoom out to about 80% on firefox.
It zooms to the perfect size on internet explorer and google chrome but since I have to use -moz-transform:scale() rather than a zoom function, it not only messes with the spacing but it also removes my fixed footer.
Currently the following options are working to get it to the right size on chrome and IE but I am wondering if there is another property for firefox which I can use to zoom. Thanks for all your help!

Broken Image in Safari Browser of my macbook takes full height unlike chrome and firefox

I found a weird issue while testing my application in safari(Version 13.1).
Basically, an image in the website is broken and it's not loaded.
Chrome and FireFox are showing the alt attribute's value and occupies the least height possible for the unloaded image tag.
But safari browser in my mac occupies way more height than others and having a weird user experience pushing the tag to bottom.
Here is the reproduction of the issue - https://jsfiddle.net/etjhgpdo/1/ - Open this url in both chrome and safari. We can see the difference that heading tag is pushed down as the image tag's height is so much in safari.
Thanks in advance.
As I didn't receive any answer, I am adding the workaround fix I found on web.
Addding onerror="this.style.height = '50px'" on the image tag helped me in reducing the height.
But this will apply to all the browsers as we are not specifying any browser here.

Firefox vs Chrome Scaling issue

I have the same problem described here whereby on higher dpi displays, firefox appears to be scaling my whole site up by 20%. This includes all site elements, not just text.
Is there a way to force firefox to display pixel-pixel accuracy? for example, I have a wrapper set to 800px at wider viewports, however, firefox is ignoring this by increasing it by 20%, which causes scrolling.
a working copy of the site is here
I have already set viewport and css reset.
The same issue is described here Note that don't want a local fix for this, but something that will work for anyone that views the site.
Thanks.

Chrome and Firefox Browser Default Zoom

I have a problem with this page. I developed it in Firefox on it's default zoom level. The idiot that I am, I haven't tested it on Chrome. So, now I see that the page's layout and/or font size is different on Chrome and other Webkit based browsers. Default Chrome zoom level is 75% so everything is smaller on Chrome. I have to say that I've made a dozen of web apps but have concentrated on the backend side of the application and never put many thoughts in how the page looks like on different browsers.
I mean, I have if javascript cross browser stuff had to be addressed but this is something that I never came across.
What I think is wrong with this is font size. I have a #main-wrap that wraps the entire app and has a base font size of 16px. So, #navigation a has 0.7em because that way it looks normal in Firefox, but looks really small in Chrome.
Could anyone post some tips or hints as to way this is happening?
EDIT:
I've fixed the problem with
zoom: 1.29;
-moz-transform: scale(1);
-moz-transform-origin: 0 0;
And it works but, as I know, it's a good to do this like this. Is there a CSS technique do make pages look the same across browsers?
I've had this issue as well. Using the #viewport tag works well. Here are the articles that I used to resolve the issues:

There are a lot of similar questions with suggestions. Here's one that helped me:

Here is your Answers......
For Firefox :
open up a new tab, and type about:config into the address bar, and
press enter.
Then use the search box, enter the word "pixel" then it will show
"layout.css.devPixelsPerPx".
change the value -1.0 to 1 for 100% perfect scale...
For Chrome:
Right Click the chrome icon or chrome shortcut icon, go to the
properties.
Then in the "Target:" field, Click the field and press end button.
Now you are seen this "chrome.exe" at the end.
copy this text : chrome.exe" /high-dpi-support=1
/force-device-scale-factor=1
and paste on chrome.exe"
Then Restart chrome or close the browser and double click the
shortcut icon.
The reason for the difference is because Firefox uses the system zoomlevel. Which is set at 125% by default on Windows. Whereas Chrome uses a default level of 100%.
I would advise to design for Chrome, because then the text will always be readable.

height and width values for css in chrome are too small. Or is the width too large?

I have a web site page that doesn't seem to be rendering properly for chrome in safari.
It appears it is rendering the width of the screen with twice as many pixels as other browsers. I suspect it may be the initial viewport settings, which work in all other browsers for windows and apple, except for the version of chrome on mac.
I tried removing the viewport setting but that doesn't seem to work. I am using the latest version of Chrome, and if I have a window open in safari beside chrome you can see that chrome is rendering the screen as twice as wide, even though it takes up the same width.
Oops. I can't post an image, but you can see it here: http://straathof.acadnet.ca/test_chrome.jpg
If you would like to test it, you can visit the page here: http://straathof.acadnet.ca/reblend55
Any help for tracking down this problem would be appreciated. I have no idea where to look.
control-0 removed any zooms that had been added to the web page, which allowed it to render properly at the correct width. Apparently some months ago I zoomed in on something and, even though Chrome was removed reinstalled and reset, not to mention quit and restarted a whole lot of times, it still remembered that errant zoom value.
annoying, but answered with someone elses suggestion.

Scaling an iframe with webkitTransform in Safari creates white border

I have a simple html page in an iframe that I am trying to scale with an html5 input range slider. it creates a white border inside the iframe, what looks to be a doubling side effect.
It works perfect in chrome(6.0.472.59 mac), but not in safari (5.0.1 mac).
here is a link to live demo - http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1031653/safari-bug.html
Any sort of suggestion on why this may be happening? hardcore hacks are fine if need be.
This appears to be a Safari bug. I would recommend reporting it at https://bugs.webkit.org/
I'm seeing this bug in Chrome as well (version 11.x.x)
One solution is to go into the IFRAME's document (assuming you have access) and set the size there. Something like this:
$('iframe').contents().find('body').css('-webkit-transform', 'scale(0.5)');
