disable wordpress to ask for login credentials - wordpress

i got a message while uploading a plugin "To perform the requested action, WordPress needs to access your web server. Please enter your FTP credentials to proceed. If you do not remember your credentials, you should contact your web host."
I want to disable this message as i dont have login credentials of ftp panels. How to do this?

WordPress displays that message when it doesn't have permission to write to its own files directly. My Upgrade First Aid plugin can help identify which permissions need to change.

Does Wordpress encrypt the login-credentials in the browser before they get send to the server?

I am wondering if someone who hacks a Wordpress site and who installs a Wordpress module on the server is able to read all user credentials from the users who logon. I know the passwords are stored as hash in the database and are more or less useless if they read out, but I mean users who logon as long as a threatening Wordpress module is active.
Does Wordpress send the user login data as clear text to the server (I know that via TLS is the traffic encrypted, but it gets decrypted on the server), or does some hashing or similiar operation already happen in the browser (Challenge-Response) that the user credentials never leave the computer/browser where they got entered?
Does Wordpress send the user login data as clear text?
Yes. Logging in is a pure form post.

Wordpress - 401 Authorization Required

I recently renewed my domain name after it expired. However, when I try to view my website, a login box popups.
This is new. I tried putting in my wordpress admin username and password all to no avail. Infact I get a '401 Authorization Required' error.
I have been at this for some days now. I contacted my hosting provider. They said they could view my website and that everything is fine. They however instructed me to clear my browser cache and cookies, which I have done. Still, the problem persist.
I tried viewing the site with an IP proxy site and truly I could see my website without any errors or login pop up box.
How do I solve this problem?
A 401 request usually means that your client (e.g. your web browser) is not able to authenticate itself with the server therfore cannot view the resource.
You have cleared your cache and cookies and you're prompted by a login
box, following this a 401 error appears. The site is viewable from
proxy.
Things to check,
Flush your DNS
Are the login details correct? its possible to get this error from incorrect logins
Check the URL for errors, make sure you're using the intended url
Try deactivating your wordpress plugins if problems still persist
Any further information you can provide, including images would help a lot.

Why ASP.NET website is asking credentials for some users?

My website is hosted in remote server with Windows Authentication enabled. I and some of my colleges were able to access the website. But for some peoples it's prompting for credentials. I've done some modifications didn't remembered to access the website. Is there any group/user need to be added in AD?
Please help me on this. I'm struggling since 2 days.
As far as I know, IE has the security setting which will send the current login in windows user name and password automatically. If your client doesn't enable the auto send username and password, it will prompt for credentials.
More details about how to enable it, you could refer to below steps:
1.Open the IE and find the internet options.
2.Modify the user authentication

Getting a "Request Rejected" response when trying to access some admin pages

I have logged into my Drupal 7 site as an admin and I was trying to put the site into maintenance mode but I get this response when ever I try:
"The requested URL was rejected. Please consult with your administrator. Your support ID is: 1272530.."
I have checked the permissions and it seems like my admin accounts has all the permissions granted. What could be the issue
Try this method. Hope you will get result or at least you get some idea.
Option 1: Clear your cache and browser then try to hit the url.
Option 2: Try from different network.
Option 3: Try cloning your site locally and check whether it's working in local system. I think firewall may be the issue in your web site server.

Password protect website during development

Is there an easy way to password protect my website during development so that only my tester can hit it? It's an ASP.NET site and is hosted on discountasp.net.
Thanks,
Jay
You can just set up a temp user/password in the C# part of your login page. That'll keep others out, and let you get in until you implement a real user system.
If they click login without that pass, no redirect to the rest of site. If they enter the correct user and pass, redirect to the rest of the site.
Require ASP.NET Forms authentication in your web.config and redirect to login page if not authenticated. This can integrate into your existing authentication database.
You need to activate Windows Authentication for the website. This will require a domain or server account credentials to be filled in before the site can be accessed otherwise the user will receive a 401.2 not authorized error.
Example at www.33bh.com. Just hit escape when the popup appears to see the 401.2 not authorised error.
