How do you have managed a status of contents in Symfony2 - symfony

How do you have created a status of blog, micropost and etc?
I simply have created a status which each application entity has a status code of boolean.
False is private, true is public.
It is a multi-user environment in fosuserbundle.
It was created without any problems until now.
However, I wanted to be able to set user, group, and other status set in a multi-user environment.
(like a linux permissions, 744, etc...)
So, I think that it might create a bundle that manages the status.
The comment bundle that I have created is relation each application bundle by the ID of the string.
{{ render(controller('MyCommentBundle:Default:embed', {
'id' : 'for_example_micropost_' ~ micropost.id, // => relation id
'name' : micropost.owner.username,
'request': app.request
})) }}
However, it can not use when viewing list of application contents.
(Because the query occurs in one by one)
For example, either simply relationship by creating a column for each application.
Status Entity
blog_id
micropost_id
picture_id
etc...
But I think it inconvenient.
It require care of additional column when generated for each new application.
And I feel it is not a smart also.
For example, do so in the list part. Conditions of the string if possible in DQL.
public function find_all($owner, $limit, $offset)
{
$q = $this->getEntityManager()->createQuery('
SELECT p FROM MyMicropostBundle:Post p
LEFT JOIN MyStatusBundle s
With s.relation_id = :prefix + p.id
WHERE s.code > 744
')
->setParameter("prefix", 'for_example_micropost_')
->setParameter("owner", $owner)
->setMaxResults($limit)
->setFirstResult($offset);
return $q->getResult();
}
Etc., various I think, but I do not know the best way.
How do you have created a status?
Do you know status bundle already?
Or do you know bundle may be relevant to me.
If there is an optimal way and ideas, please tell me.
StatusBundle process:
It check a access user first.
It check a status code and groups and owner associated with the contents.
It compare a status code, groups and owner of the content to a access user.
I think it is possible to create (relation) bundle within a single page in my skills.
However, problem is how to relations at such a list display page that query to get the contents of the large number.
For example, I get the data of the last 10 blog posts.
I get the last 10 of public status posts if a access user is not the owner.
It is easy if Post entity has a status.
However, I think how to check a status, groups and owner if a status of a post has been registered in the status entity of other bundle.
I think that how to handle the status bundle while I get the data of the contents of the large number.

SetPermission With sensenet API - version 6.3

I am working on sensenet API. I faced an issue with setPermission on sensenetAPI security.
As per concern, when I create a document I would like to give See, open, Save and RunApplication permission as a default for newly created document to the user(User is taken from the function parameter).
To achieve this I use below code
public static void SetCollabUserSecurity(string myUserEmailId, Node myNodetToSetSecurity)
{
var domainName = "Builtin";
var strUsername = GetNameFromEmail(myUserEmailId);
User user;
using (new SystemAccount())
{
user = User.Load(domainName, strUsername);
if (user != null && user.Enabled)
{
var myUser = user;
myNodetToSetSecurity.Security.SetPermission(myUser, true, PermissionType.See,
PermissionValue.Allow);
myNodetToSetSecurity.Security.SetPermission(myUser, true, PermissionType.Open,
PermissionValue.Allow);
myNodetToSetSecurity.Security.SetPermission(myUser, true, PermissionType.Save,
PermissionValue.Allow);
myNodetToSetSecurity.Security.SetPermission(myUser, true, PermissionType.RunApplication,
PermissionValue.Allow);
}
}
}
While I am using this function, my process for creating document becomes time consuming. It takes around 40 second time for execution.
So in case of, if I would like to share the same newly created document with multiple users, lets say there are 3 user and I want to give the above permission to all of them then my single function call takes 120 second (2 minute) time to simply assign permission.
Is there any Odata REST API call available or any sensenet library call available through which I can assign...
1) multiple permission to multiple user for single document or
2) multiple permission to single user for single document
Can anyone help to come out from this issue?
Thanks!
C# api
On the server there is a c# api for managing permissions, please check this article for details. You may use the AclEditor class for setting multiple permissions in one round. Please note that you have to call the Apply method at the end to actually perform the operation.
// set permissions on folder1, folder2 and file1 for two users and a group
SecurityHandler.CreateAclEditor()
.Allow(folder1.Id, user1.Id, false, PermissionType.Open, PermissionType.Custom01)
.Allow(folder2.Id, user2.Id, false, PermissionType.Open)
.Allow(file1.Id, editorsGroup.Id, false, PermissionType.Save)
.Apply();
As a side note: in most cases it is better to work with groups than users when assigning permissions. So it is advisable to give permissions to a group and put users into the group as members instead of assigning permissions to users directly.
Also: it is easier to maintain a simpler security structure, for example if you assign a permission on the parent container (e.g. a folder) instead of on individual files. Of course if you have to set permission per file, then it is fine.
OData api
The same api is available from the client through the REST api. Please take a look at the SetPermissions action in this article or the similar api in the JavaScript client library of sensenet.

Creating a user failed. Is there a way to interogate the error?

I am using the ASP.NET Identity framework, with the EntityFramework provider (IdentityDbContext).
I attempt to create a user by calling UserManager.CreateAsync(..).
It returns an object of type IdentityResult, with the following values:
{
Succeeded: false,
Errors: ["Name AndrewShepherd is already taken."]
}
The error is valid - there is indeed another user called "AndrewShepherd" in the database. This is not a name the user picked; instead I am generating this name from the Outh2 account information provided by their Google account. (Google Accounts don't enforce unique names, just unique email addresses).
Since the problem is a duplicate name, I can simply try appending a number to the name and trying again. I would programmatically attempt to create AndrewShepherd_1, AndrewShepherd_2, AndrewShepherd_3 until I am either successful or get a different error.
But how do I programatically determine that the problem was a duplicate name?
Options are:
Perform a pattern match on the error string. This solution is guaranteed to break when the next version of ASP.NET Identity has a differently worded error messages or we internationalize the website.
Run the check before creating the user. I would call UserStore.FindByNameAsync to determine if the name had already been taken before invoking UserManager.CreateASync(..). This would have a small concurrency risk if two different sessions are attempting to add the same user name at the same time.
It would be some much easier if we could simply perform a check like this:
if(identityResult.Errors.Where(e => e.ErrorCode == IdentityErrors.DuplicateName).Any())
Is there a way I can perform a unique user check then add a user, that's safe in a concurrent environment?
As an alternaive, you can check if the user name is exist in your DB like that. If user name is already taken, you can change new user name like AndrewShepherd_1, AndrewShepherd_2, AndrewShepherd_3.
using (YourProjectName.Models.DefaultConnection db = new Models.DefaultConnection ())
{
if (db.AspNetUsers.Select(q => q.UserName).Contains("usernameThatYouWantToCheck"))
{
/*Your code*/
}
}

StructureGroup Details using the Content Delivery/Broker API

I am trying to get all the structure groups published in a given publication using the PublicationID. I am expecting to get the structure groups with StructureGroupCriteria by passing the Root Structure Group TCM ID but getting page ids (I am expecting SGs).
Now I am trying to loop through the list and get details of each structuregroup. I did not find any API (.net) to get these details and also the API is returning only Pages.
What I have done and working so far using StructureGroupCriteria, returns list of Page IDs instead of SG IDs
PublicationCriteria pubCriteria = new PublicationCriteria(pubID);
// Root StructureGroup TCM ID -- tcm:45-3-4
StructureGroupCriteria sgCriteria = new StructureGroupCriteria("tcm:45-3-4", true);
Criteria allSGsInPub = CriteriaFactory.And(pubCriteria, sgCriteria);
Query allSGs = new Query(allSGsInPub);
string[] sgInfo = allSGs.ExecuteQuery();
Response.Write("Total : " + sgInfo.Length);
foreach (string sgid in sgInfo ) {
// HOW DO I get the Structure Group Details here
//TCMURI sgURI = new TCMURI(sgid);
}
Q # 1 : How to get the all the structuregroups and individual structure group details? (May be something simple, I am not able to find right API).
Q # 2 : How can I get all the structuregroups using ItemTypeCriteria sgCriteria = new ItemTypeCriteria(4); // 4 is SG Item Type .
When I tried this option, the query worked successfully but no results returned. Is this the expected behavior and should we always use StructureGroupCriteria instead of ItemTypeCriteria?
The reason for this approach, I want to avoid using the Root StructureGroup ID which is required with the above code. But at the moment, none of the approaches returning StructureGroup information and I always get Page Information.
Tridion Version: 2011 SP1, .net API.
Note: When I publish I am checking the publish SG info checkbox and published successfully. On Broker DB side, I can see the information on the taxnonomy table as well.
I was playing with Odata service and accidentally I found that I can get all my structure group information from Odata web service.
/cd_webservice/odata.svc/StructureGroups?$filter=PublicationId%20eq%2045
Also, the results are returning child structure groups with a depth parameter.
Just to clarify , using Broker API it is not feasible to get the structure groups (my original question). However, the workaround solution is to use OData Service to get the Structure Groups.
I don't think you will get Structure Groups returned by the Query object.
According to the documentation, when you publish Structure Group information the Structure Group hierarchy is published to the Content Delivery side where it is stored as a taxonomy.
Have you tried using the Taxonomy APIs to get the information you need?

Change 'edit account' URL in Drupal

When going to edit account or edit profile in Drupal 7, the URL looks something like http://localhost/user/123/edit where 123 is the user id. Because of this, anyone can see how many users the site has, which I don't want. Is there a way that I can change it to something like http://localhost/user/edit or something without an ID?
I've tried setting up a menu entry in my module, that acts as the edit account/profile page, but had no success.
Also, I don't want to install a new module for this, I'd rather just write my code.
In theory, you could combine the Pathauto module (the widely-used module, used on over 250,000 D6 and D7 sites, which provides URL aliases for normal node and user paths, etc) with the Sub-pathauto module (a new D7 module, currently used on only a few hundred sites). The Sub-pathauto module is the only Drupal 7 module I'm aware of which will allow you to alias the user/uid part of a user/uid/edit -type path.
On the other hand, if your goal is simply to create the illusion that you might have more than a handful of users, when launching a new Drupal site, you could simply increment the UID index by adding (then deleting) a bunch of auto-generated users (with Devel generate), or since this is an auto-increment index, you could likely manually create a user entry in the database with an index of 1507 or something, and then any entry created by Drupal after that would start at 1508, even after you've removed the dummy entry from the table. (Caveat: I've never done this, but in theory it should work.)
Hope that helps. :-)
There is already a module that allows to do what you are trying to do, but as you want to avoid installing a module, you can create a module that contains the following code:
function mymodule_url_outbound_alter(&$path, &$options, $original_path) {
if (preg_match('|^user/([0-9]+)(/.*)?|', $path, $matches)) {
if ($user = user_load($matches[1])) {
$path = 'user/' . $user->name . $matches[2];
}
}
}
function mymodule_url_inbound_alter(&$path, $original_path, $path_language) {
if (preg_match('|^user/([^/]+)(/.*)?|', $path, $matches)) {
$uid = db_query("SELECT uid FROM {users} WHERE name = :name", array(':name' => $matches[1]))->fetchField();
if ($uid) {
$path = "user/$uid" . $matches[2];
}
}
}
This code works if usernames are unique, on your site. This is what normally happens on Drupal sites, where the username is forced to be unique; if a user tried to create an account using a username that already exist, he will get an error message.
The first hook rewrite paths such as "user/100" in "user/username," and the other hook make the inverse operation. This is necessary because Drupal expects user paths in the format "user/userid" and it would not be able to handle a user path containing the username (except when you are using a path alias).
As you are said you don't like that people can know how many users your site has, there is an easier way to avoid that. The fact people know that 123 is a valid user ID, though, doesn't mean they know how many users are registered in your site: You could have 1,000 users, 140,000 users. They just know that you could have 123 users, but if you have blocked users in your site, then some of the user IDs are not usable.
Create a user account that will never be used to log in, and create content on your site.
Editing the "users" database table increase the user ID of the account you created. Supposing that its user ID is 146, increase that number of 100.
Now, the next user that will register on your site will have a user ID equal to 247.
Increase the user ID of the dummy account you created incrementing the higher user ID.
In this way, if somebody notice that there is a user account with ID equal to 247, he will wrongly suppose you have 247 users.
What I did after all, was to create a hook_user_insert and to add 2 URL aliases in the urlalias table:
user/$user->uid/edit -> user/$user->name/edit
and
user/$user->uid/edit/profile -> user/$user->name/edit/profile
Hope this helps somebody.

Programicatlly visit (all) ASP.Net page(s) in a website?

In the Security model for out ASP.Net website (.Net 3.5) we store the page name:
page.GetType().Name
as the primary key in a database table to be able to lookup if a user has access to a certain page. The first time a page is visited this record is created automatically in the database.
We have exported these database statements to insert scripts, but each time a new page gets created we have to update the scripts, not a huge issue, but I would like to find an automated way to do this.
I created an attribute that I tagged a few pages with and then wrote a small process to get all the objects that have this attribute, through the reflection create an instance and insert the record using the same code to for page records mentioned above:
IEnumerable<Type> viewsecurityPages = Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().GetTypes().Where(t => t.IsDefined(typeof(ViewSecurityAttribute),false));
foreach (Type t in viewsecurityPages)
{
object obj = Activator.CreateInstance(t, false);
//clip..(This code just checks if the record already exists in the DB)
if (feature == null)
{
Attribute attb = Attribute.GetCustomAttribute(t, typeof(ViewSecurityAttribute));
if (attb != null)
{
CreateSecurableFeatureForPage((Page)obj, uow, attb.ToString());
}
}
}
The issue is that page.GetType().Name when the page goes through the actual page cycle process is something like this:
search_accounts_aspx
but when I used the activator method above it returns:
Accounts
So the records don't match the in the security table. Is there anyway to programtically "visit" a webpage so that it goes through the actual page lifecycle and I would get back the correct value from the Name parameter?
Any help/reference will be greatly appreciated.
Interesting problem...
Of course there's a (too obvious?) way to programmatically visit the page... use System.Net.HttpWebRequest. Of course, that requires the URI and not just a handle to the object. This is a "how do we get there from here?" problem.
My suggestions would be to simply create another attribute (or use that same one) which stores the identifier you need. Then it will be the same either way you access it, right?
Alternatively... why not just use a 3rd party web spider/crawler to crawl your site and hit all the pages? There are several free options. Or am I missing something?
