I am writing selenium grid tests using, testng, xslt reports and ant in eclipse.
I would like to know what is the best way to export selenium tests + testng.xml in an executable file, batch file for example.
I have used export to Jar file option in eclipse and I have ended up with a war file.
Is there any other option where I can run my tests through executable file?

Actually, I'm trying to add new language to Streama Media Server. I downloaded source code, added new language file (as guided here). After that, I want to build a jar with that project, I build it with IntelliJ Idea 2021.1 (here is how I did). So, When I run that jar file (in Ubunt 20.04), it fails and gives this error: Screenshot
When you have made adjustments to the source code, it is likely that you will want to create a new .jar file and deploy it on your server. For this, you can use a simple command:
# for unix based systems
**./gradlew assemble**
# for windows
**./gradlew.bat assemble**
This will create 2 new .jar files under build/libs,
streama-{version}.jar
streama-{version}.jar.original
all you will need is the streama-{version}.jar.
This file is an executable, so you can just copy it into your deployment directory / your server and start it as usual.
I want qmake to run a (python) script automatically. This script modifies the makefiles, so it has to be executed after qmake generates the makefiles but before make.
So far I've only found 2 ways to run a script from qmake:
Using system() in my .pro file, but this runs before qmake - too soon:
win32: PYTHON=python.exe
else: PYTHON=python
system($$PYTHON ./test.py)
or via custom build target using QMAKE_EXTRA_TARGETS, but this is invoked by make (too late).
Is there any way to run a script from qmake after it generates the makefiles?
Since we are using TEMPLATE = subdirs for our project, I solved this by creating new subdir, that is parsed by qmake as a last one. In its pro file I'm using TEMPLATE = aux and running the script by system() call.
It's not the best solution, but it works quite well.
The following has worked well for me for several years.
Create a .cmd or .sh script that invokes qmake, and then your script:
%QTDIR%\bin\qmake %*
python.exe test.py
Save the script where it can be found via the PATH environment
In your .pro file add the following:
QMAKE_QMAKE = myqmake
Then simply invoke myqmake rather than qmake
If the script will be run outside the Qt enviornment, (such as from an IDE), then it may need to define the QTDIR and QMAKESPEC environments.
Cotire (compile time reducer) for CMake might me your friend.

I did not use it but it is recommended in a C++ best practice list.
I wanted to convert .java file to executable jar file,i did so in the command prompt. But everytime i double click (open) it nothing happens.

That's not how it works, that way you are creating a jar archive with that .java file in it.
If you want to create the jar manually (if you want to do it one time, instead of using a build tool like ant or maven, it could have some educational value), you have to compile your .java file to a .class with javac, add it to the jar and then modify the META-INF/MANIFEST.MF manifest file to specify Calculator as value for the Main-Class attribute.

I have bundled a jar from my eclipse project. I would like to pass arguments to the jar. Basically an input file to the jar. I would like to know how to give an input file that is not in Hdfs. I know that's not now hadoop works but this is for testing purposes. Eclipse has the feature for local files. Is there a way to do this via command line?
You can run hadoop in 'local' mode by overriding the job tracker and file system properties from the command line:
hadoop jar <jar-file> <main-class> -fs local -jt local <other-args..>
You need to be using the GenricOptionsParser (which is the norm if you're using ToolRunner to launch your jobs.
Is there a way to run executable Jar in browser? As I don't think my Jar is working if i export it as a normal Jar
