In a custom step in cucumber, I wrote this:
find(:xpath ,"//ul//input[#placeholder = 'Enter Something'][last()]").set(value)
And Im getting Regexp ambiguous match error:It is getting both the elements.
How can I get this element using xpath(or maybe even css) in cucumber??
I'm using cucumber-1.2.1 and capybara-2.0.3
(Please note:every attribute in the above two input fields are same)
HTML:
<ul class = "someclass">
<li>
<div>
<a></a>
<input></input>
<input placeholder = "Enter Something"></input>
</div>
</li>
<li>
<div>
<a></a>
<input></input>
<input placeholder = "Enter Something"> // This is the element I want
</input>
</div>
</li>
</ul>
You'll need an extra set of parenthesis in your xpath:
"(//ul//input[#placeholder = 'Enter Something'])[last()]"

I'm trying to create a list with checkboxes for collecting actions with materialize, but the input tag didn't get recognized by the pattern. Is this possible?
<div class="row">
<ul class="collection with-header" v-if="listaRoles.length > 0">
<li class="collection-header left-align"><h4> Roles do perfil </h4></li>
<li v-for="r in listaRoles" :key="r.id" class="collection-item">
<div class="left-align">
<span> </span>
<input type="checkbox" />
</div>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
You have to use the exact same structure as the materialize docs, otherwise your components won't work correctly. So in the case of checkboxes that is <input>, followed by <span>, and both of these wrapped in a <label>.
<label>
<input type="checkbox" />
<span>Red</span>
</label>
Any deviation from this will break the component.
EDIT:
Checkboxes inside li works perfectly fine, here a codepen to demonstrate:

The error is coming from somewhere else.

I am trying bind a razor variable to html attribute with vuejs.
The variable which i must use is "#culture". It is a string variable which gives me current culture information.
My code is:
<div class="dropdown-product-item" v-for="(item, index) in card.items">
<span class="dropdown-product-remove"><i class="icon-cross" v-bind:data-id="item.Id" v-on:click="removeFromCard"></i></span>
<a class="dropdown-product-thumb" v-bind:href="/#{Html.Raw(culture);}/item.Link">
<img v-bind:src="item.ResimUrl" v-bind:alt="item.Ad">
</a>
<div class="dropdown-product-info">
<a class="dropdown-product-title" v-bind:href="/#{Html.Raw(culture);}/item.Link"></a>
<span class="dropdown-product-details" v-if="!item.IndirimliFiyat"> x </span>
<span class="dropdown-product-details" v-else> x </span>
</div>
This code doesn't work. I only see white screen.
How to I do this? Could you help me?
Ok, I have this somewhat complex piece of HTML that I have to integrate with. It is a button with a drop down (using aria) and I had to pass in a currency list and be able to select one of the dropdown elements (currency values) and update the button text with the selected value. I write a tiny bit of js and that works well. I use thymeleaf to pass in values to populate and that works well. I also need to read the values that were set from the post to the spring mvc controller but I always get a empty string for the value that I set via js.
here is the javascript
$(".currencyDropdown li a").click(function () {
var selText = $(this).text().trim();
var button = $("#currencyButton");
button.text(selText);
console.log("currency selected is:" + selText);
});
here is the html
<div class="col-sm-9 col-sm-offset-3 col-xs-12 form-row">
<div class="dropdown">
<button class="btn btn-default dropdown-toggle field-small"
type="button"
id="currencyButton"
name="currencyButton"
th:field="${pals.selectedCurrency}"
data-toggle="dropdown"
th:inline="text">
${pals.selectedCurrency}
<i class="fa fa-caret-down"></i>
</button>
<ul id="currencyDropdown"
class="dropdown-menu currencyDropdown"
role="menu"
aria-labelledby="currencyButton">
<li role="presentation"
th:each="currency:${pals.currencyList}">
<a role="menuitem"
tabindex="-1"
href="#"
th:inline="text">
${currency}
</a>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
What I am trying to read back in the spring mvc controller is the pals.selectedCurrency value and it is always empty. Something I am missing? I was playing around and tried setting value and field. In reality I want to read the inline text that my js inserts.
I think you must add a th:fragment on you button and change the text of the button via ajax from backing bean from server, not from javascript. It's something like this :
<form th:action="#{/PersonEdit/save(contract=${param.contract})}" th:object="${personBean}"
method="POST" th:if="${param.contract != null}">
... other form components
<div class="form-group">
<label class="col-sm-4 control-label"
th:text="#{person.edit.policy.tfoms}"></label>
<div class="col-sm-8">
<select class="form-control" th:field="*{tfoms}"
onchange="loadInsuranceCompanies()">
<option th:each="t : ${tfomses}"
th:value="${t.uidtfoms}"
th:text="${t.shortName}"
th:selected="${personBean.tfoms != null
and personBean.tfoms.equals(t)}"></option>
</select>
</div>
</div>
<div th:class="${#fields.hasErrors('insuranceCompany')}
? 'form-group has-error' : 'form-group'">
<label class="col-sm-4 control-label"
th:text="#{person.edit.policy.ic}"></label>
<div class="col-sm-8" id="insuranceCompaniesContent">
<select class="form-control" id="insuranceCompany"
name="insuranceCompany"
th:fragment="insuranceCompany">
<option th:each="i : ${insuranceCompanies}"
th:value="${i.uidinsurancecompany}"
th:text="${i.shortName}"
th:selected="${personBean.insuranceCompany != null
and personBean.insuranceCompany.equals(i)}"></option>
</select>
<div th:if="${#fields.hasErrors('insuranceCompany')}"
th:each="err : ${#fields.errors('insuranceCompany')}">
<span class="text-danger" th:text="${err}"></span><br/>
</div>
</div>
</div>
In my case I refreshing one dropdown via another.Then refresh this fragment via ajax on item selection
function loadInsuranceCompanies() {
var url = #{/PersonEdit/insuranceCompanies};
if ($('#tfoms').val() !== ) {
url = url + '/' + $('#tfoms').val();
}
$("#insuranceCompaniesContent").load(url);
}
I think the trouble can be because you using not a standard select as a dropdown.
Ok, I figured out a relatively simple answer to it. I have to use the html that was provided because of look and feel considerations from the customer.
so what I did was add a hidden input and set that from the java script.
$(".currencyDropdown li a").click(function () {
var selText = $(this).text().trim();
$("#currencyButton").text(selText);
$("#currencySelected").val(selText);
console.log("currency selected is:" + selText);
});
<input type="hidden"
id="currencySelected"
th:field="${pals.selectedCurrency}"/>
<button class="btn btn-default dropdown-toggle field-small"
type="button"
id="currencyButton"
data-toggle="dropdown"
th:inline="text">
${pals.selectedCurrency}
<i class="fa fa-caret-down"></i>
</button>
<ul id="currencyDropdown"
class="dropdown-menu currencyDropdown"
role="menu"
aria-labelledby="currencyButton">
<li role="presentation"
th:each="currency:${pals.currencyList}">
<a role="menuitem"
tabindex="-1"
href="#"
th:inline="text">
${currency}
</a>
</li>
</ul>
I see the correct values that were selected for my dropdown on the spring mvc controller and now I can get on with the rest of the stuff.
using xpath or css : How to get something which is selected on page using following html code.
in following code, Element1 is selected on page and I wanted to find name of element that is selected on page.
<div id="idc" class="tre">
<ul id="idCatT_srt_ul" class="abc">
<li class="treN treB treSelected" title="Element1 title">
<span class="spclass">Element1</span>
</li>
</ul>
</div>
Guessing that you're looking for the <li> that contains selected you can do that with Xpath or CSS selectors like this:
XPath: (if I remember right...)
//*[contains(#class,"selected")]
CSS Selectors:
.treSelected
I have ASP.Net code similar to the following (this is inside a FIELDSET):
<ol>
<li>
<label>Some label</label>
<one or more form controls, ASP.Net controls, labels, etc.>
</li>
<li>
<label>Another label</label>
<... more of the same...>
</li>
...
</ol>
I'm trying to keep my markup as clean as I possibly can, but I've decided that for various reasons, I need to wrap a DIV around everything in the list item after the first label, like this:
<ol>
<li>
<label>Some label</label>
<div class="GroupThese">
<one or more form controls, ASP.Net controls, labels, etc.>
</div>
</li>
<li>
<label>Another label</label>
<div class="GroupThese">
<... more of the same...>
</div>
</li>
...
</ol>
I would rather do this with "unobtrusive Javascript" via jQuery instead of littering my page with extra markup so I can keep the form semantically "clean".
I know how to write a jQuery selector to get to the first label in each list item $("li+label") or use :first-child. I also know how to insert things after the selection.
What I can't figure out (at least this late at night) is how to find everything after the first label in the list item (or basically everything in the list item except for the first label would be another way to put it) and wrap a DIV around that in the document ready function.
UPDATE:
Owen's code worked once I removed the single quotes from around: $('this') and set the proper decendent selector: $("li label:first-child") in order to only select the first label that occurs after a list item.
Here is what I did:
$(document).ready(function() {
$('li label:first-child').each(function() {
$(this).siblings().wrapAll('<div class="GroupThese"></div>');
});
});
edit: corrected code (see old code in revision history and comments for more info)
ok this should work:
$('li label:first-child').each(function() {
$(this).siblings().wrapAll('<div class="li-non-label-child-wrapper">');
});
from:
<li>
<label>Some label</label>
<div>stuff</div>
<div>other stuff</div>
</li>
<li>
<label>Another label</label>
<div>stuff3</div>
</li>
produces:
<li>
<label>Some label</label>
<div class="li-non-label-child-wrapper">
<div>stuff</div>
<div>other stuff</div>
</div>
</li>
<li>
<label>Another label</label>
<div class="li-non-label-child-wrapper">
<div>stuff3</div>
</div>
</li>
One approach would be to just wrap everything inside the <li> and then move the label out, e.g.
var $div = $('li').wrapInner('<div></div>').children('div');
$div.children('label').prependTo($div.parent());
