I'm trying to build a dynamic gexf graph-file using the R library Rgexf. It is great so far but I would like to add node attributes changing over time. As I understand it the gexf format supports this but I don't know how to add this using the R library.
Is this possible with rgexf?
If not which would be another way to do it?
I have some basic python knowlegde would pygexf a mor powerfull alternative?
As author/developer of rgexf I can tell you that for the current version it is not possible handling spells or dynamic attributes. The next version will (hoping to have it in the next two weeks).
For now you can try using Paul Girard's pygexf (gexf for python) https://github.com/paulgirard/pygexf , which supports spells.

For "pure" mind mapping I would suggest Freeplane (free and open source). I know people using Freeplane for professional test case generation. Very helpful in this respect are

If your primary focus is the generation of presentations then you should probably use a different tool.
For more elaborate mindmap I would suggest XMind.
With XMind you can even create testcases inside your mindmap using its matrix features. There are lots more features like:

You may try online service MindMup or desktop ConceptDraw MINDMAP. Though the first one is not that professional and intuitive as ConceptDraw tool, it is free. The second product has a 21-day trial period, brainstorm mode, multiple hyperlinks, export to MS PowerPoint or Web pages and so on.
We have a couple of relatively simple websites running on Adobe CQ 5.5 that were developed by a third party. I'm pretty familiar with how CQ works, but I'm working with somebody else's code here and I need to be able to search through all components in the system for a particular string.
The issue is that I can't seem to find a way to search across all of the various .jsp files stored with the various system components. I would have figured that the query tool in CRXDE Lite would have done the trick with something like this:
/jcr:root//*[jcr:contains(., 'Find this exact string in a JSP')] order by #jcr:score
But I've had no luck.
What I am looking for is some sort of global search that includes JSP files. Is that possible? Were I using a regular Java system, any IDE worth the download would be able to do this.

Might not be easiest way, but you can use the VLT tool to checkout the repository into your filesystem. Then you can lookup using whatever tool you prefer. It might even be faster in the long run
I don't have the actual answer but I suppose the JSPs are indexed via a filter that strips out some of their content.
It should be possible to configure the repository to index them as is instead, based on the info at http://wiki.apache.org/jackrabbit/IndexingConfiguration and http://jackrabbit.apache.org/jackrabbit-text-extractors.html

I am planning to link a Qt project against R to provide some statistical funcionality. I thought it might be quite cute to add some generality to the project by having an R console as a Qt widget within the tab to allow me to do analyses that I haven't thought of in the design stage later on. I was wondering whether it is something that might be accomplished fairly easily?
In particular I'm stuck on how I would access the RTerm from QT? Has anyone else attempted something similar or can give some hints on where to start?
One of the examples for RInside does something pretty close---in around 200 lines most of which deal with the other GUI aspects, it wraps R functionality inside a Qt application.
The example implements a GUI density slider, and the edit box allows you to write an almost arbitrary R expression, or rather the parts that are then passed into an evaluation to generate random number: rnorm(50), or for a mixture c(rnorm(50), rt(50)) etc. You could possibly build on top of that.

this is a plugin for Quantum GIS (mapping package) that interfaces it to R, giving you exactly what you want - an R console wrapped in a Qt4 body - as well as data transfer between Qgis and R. It handles plots as well.
I've tried to encourage Carson to produce a standalone R Gui project from this code, but he's a busy guy. Aren't we all?

Dia (Old homepage) is a GTK based UML drawing tool. It is a very good tool with a lot of options. It is available on a number distros from their repositories. It has both application & library (libdia) components. There are python bindings available as well. If you have not checked it out, you should.

You should checkout GooCanvas, I think is the more complete library for that kind of work.
I use python and pygtk, and use matplotlib to draw graphs in the GUI.

I've searched long and hard to find a site that would show me some pseudocode (at least) or an algorithm as to how to implement this type of application. But everything I find are only applications that take in data and do all the work for me to create the graph. I need to actually create it for myself, just a simple one for now. Does anyone know where I can find this? What I want it to do is take data from a database and use it to create the treemap, then express it in a GUI like in the link above. If any specifics are needed I can provide it. I'm trying to do this in Flash Builder using Flex and using ColdFusion as the backend. Thanks!
