Recently i'm facing a problem of session timeout. User can logedin successfully but during his operation over few pages, Session times out within couple minutes(<4 mins).
Most recently when I moved my application on a new server be the inception of this. Before this my Web Application was working fine.
Please help me.
My webConfig settings are like shown

Here is the code to set the time out for the session. If you are not using state serve r(mode:InProc) then the session will get cleared when the web.config is changed or the browse cache is cleared(for firefox) and also Review the config settings also.
<configuration>
<system.web>
<sessionState mode="InProc" stateConnectionString="tcpip=127.0.0.1:42424"
sqlConnectionString="data source=127.0.0.1;Trusted_Connection=yes"
cookieless="false" timeout="20" />
</system.web>
</configuration>
i have a website with .Net2 . I Changed it built target to .Net4.5 and changed it pool to .net 4 from IIS. but any event in updatepanel not firing(such as butun_click or dropdown_Changed and ...) all of them work correctly on .net 2.
any idea?
Edit:
i delete:
<section name="scriptResourceHandler" type="System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingScriptResourceHandlerSection, System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" requirePermission="false" allowDefinition="MachineToApplication"/>

from web.config becuase duplicated error.
finally i found the solution.
the problem was with this line:
Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance().add_initializeRequest(InitializeRequestHandler);
function InitializeRequestHandler(sender, eventArgs) {
if (sender._postBackSettings.panelID.indexOf('folCountTimer') != -1) {
return;
}
$("#updateProgresJQuery").slideDown(300);
}
i delete it and every thing work correctly.

I want to know, what will happen if I remove this section from the file?
These assemblies contain resources and handlers for use with ASP.Net AJAX.
If you use any AJAX controls in your pages such as <asp:ScriptManager> or <asp:UpdatePanel> and you remove these entries, you'll get errors and/or the controls won't work as expected.
I have this error when using asp.net 2.0 framework. I have searched online but found no answers, thank you all in advance. Below is the description.

Above is the configuration section in the Web.config. Using the [AjaxMethod(HttpSessionStateRequirement.ReadWrite)] attribute to define the ajax method on the server side. Here is the method: public virtual AjaxResult Add(string[] values, string[] valueParameters, int editMode). When one string of the string[] values contains the \, or ,\ , it will fail, the parameter the server got is divided into two part by the ',', if it is 'H\,H', it became to 'H\' and '', if it is 'H,\H' it became to '' and '\H'. And here is the message:
"{'IsValid':false,'Values':[],'Message':'Index was outside the bounds
of the array.','UnformattedMessage':null,'Type':6}"
I have debugged it, the Ajax framework transforms the input string into Json by '"' + o.replace(/(["\\])/g, '\\$1') + '"' regex. For example,
"DSF\,DF"
will be translated into
"DSF\\,DF"
I think it is fine but the asp.net framework can't recognize it correctly.
Please help me.
are you sure you have the right version?
see this... http://www.asp.net/ajax/documentation/live/ConfiguringASPNETAJAX.aspx i hope it will help you

I see this in the config file:
<appSettings/> however i do not see an opening tag at all <appSettings>
where is the opening tag and why doesn't it like my keys?
<appSettings/>
Is a single-line closed tag. Meaning that you have declared the appSettings element and you are declaring that it has no contents. In your above example your keys are currently child nodes of <configuration> root.
Change:
<add key="dePracticeErrors" value="agordon,user1,user2,user3"/>
<add key="dePreAnalytical" value="user2,user1,user3"/>
<appSettings/>
To:
<appSettings>
<add key="dePracticeErrors" value="agordon,user1,user2,user3"/>
<add key="dePreAnalytical" value="user2,user1,user3"/>
</appSettings>
