I have a QGridLayout which contains all the layout for my class. Until there everything goes fine.
I added a QSplitter for other things and then at the bottom (After the splitter) i want the QTextBrowser to be. Fine, works. But i want to resize, i meant i want to make the QTextBrowser smaller. But resize doesn't work.
QGridLayout *layout = new QGridLayout(this);
QSplitter *splitter = new QSplitter(Qt::Horizontal);
text1 = new QPlainTextEdit();
text2 = new QPlainTextEdit();
splitter->addWidget(text1);
splitter->addWidget(text2);
text1->resize(800, this->height());
layout->addWidget(splitter, 1, 0);
browser = new QTextBrowser();
browser->resize(1, 1);
layout->addWidget(browser, 2, 0);
setLayout(layout);
Actually resizing the text1 works fine, but i can't make the QTextBrowser resize fine. Any idea?

I've created a a widget in which I've placed two buttons using a layout and placed it inside a table widget's cell. The thing is that I'm changing the size of the table and I want to shift the placement of the widget without deleting them and re-initializing them from the beginning because I already assigned them actions on click (I think that the application would crash in this situation)
Code:
btn = new QPushButton[horzHeaders.size()];
btn[j].setParent(ui->tableWidget);
btn[j].setIcon(QIcon("./save.png"));
btn[j].setVisible(true);
btn_Load = new QPushButton[horzHeaders.size()];
btn_Load[j].setParent(ui->tableWidget);
btn_Load[j].setIcon(QIcon("./upload.png"));
btn_Load[j].setVisible(true);
lay = new QHBoxLayout[horzHeaders.size()];
lay[j].addWidget(&btn[j]);
lay[j].addWidget(&btn_Load[j]);
QWidget *w = new QWidget[horzHeaders.size()];
w[j].setLayout(&lay[j]);
ui->tableWidget->setCellWidget(j,vertHeaders.size() - 1, &w[j]);
You can add and remove widgets from a layout anytime you want
QWidget *widget = new QWidget();
QPushButton *button = new QPushButton();
QHBoxLayout *Hbox = new QHBoxLayout();
QVBoxLayout *Vbox= new QVBoxLayout();
Hbox->addWidget(button);
// use it till the window is resized
//and then check with an if-statement if the window is resized or not
Hbox->removeWidget(button); // remove from the button from layout
layout()->removeAt(widget); //remove the widget's current layout
Vbox->addWidget(button); // add button widget to vertical layout
widget->setLayout(Vbox); // Give it a new layout
widget->setLayout(Vbox);

I want to overlay a QGLWidget with clickable buttons.
I'm using a QGraphicsView and setting the viewport to a QGLWidget. Then I'm adding a layout to the QGraphicsView, and adding several QPushButtons to that.
The Buttons display correctly, HOWEVER they are not clickable.
Here is my code:
QGraphicsView* view = ui->gView;
QGLWidget* gl = new QGLWidget(QGLFormat(QGL::SampleBuffers));
view->setViewport(gl);
QPushButton* push = new QPushButton("Click me");
QHBoxLayout* h = new QHBoxLayout;
QPushButton* wo = new QPushButton("Wo");
h->addWidget(wo);
h->addWidget(push);
view->setLayout(h);
Is there a simple way I can make the buttons get the clicks when the mouse is above them, and QGLWidget get the clicks otherwise?
I have a Qt class which inherits from QMainWindow. The constructor of the class creates two widgets which are added to a horizontal layout object as follows:
MyWindow::MyWindow()
{
resize(QDesktopWidget().availableGeometry(this).size());
display = new MyWidget(this);
display->setSizePolicy(QSizePolicy::Expanding,
QSizePolicy::Expanding);
current = new MyWidget(this);
current->setSizePolicy(QSizePolicy::Expanding,
QSizePolicy::Expanding);
QHBoxLayout *layout = new QHBoxLayout();
layout->addWidget(display);
layout->addWidget(current);
QFrame* frame = new QFrame();
frame->setFrameShape(QFrame::StyledPanel);
frame->setLayout(layout);
setCentralWidget(frame);
show();
}
This currently shows the widget side of side of each other. However, what I would like to do is have one of the widgets take 30% of the horizontal space while the other one occupies the other 70%. I would also like the widgets to expand or contract if one resizes the main window but keeping these ratios.
When you place a widget into a layout you can specify its stretch factor:
QHBoxLayout *layout = new QHBoxLayout();
layout->addWidget(display, 3);
layout->addWidget(current, 7);

I am creating a window dimanica to the downloads list.
But the scrollbar does not work and the "widgets children" are "cut".
Where can I be wrong? Thanks.
Source:
QWidget *central = new QWidget;
QScrollArea *scroll = new QScrollArea;
QVBoxLayout *layout = new QVBoxLayout(scroll);
scroll->setWidget(central);
scroll->setWidgetResizable(true);
int i=0;
while(i<10){
QWidget *p1 = new QWidget;
QHBoxLayout *hl = new QHBoxLayout(p1);
QLabel *label1 = new QLabel("test");
QLabel *label2 = new QLabel("0%");
hl->addWidget(label1);
hl->addWidget(label2);
layout->addWidget(p1);
i++;
}
QMainWindow *w = new QMainWindow;
w->setGeometry(50,50,480,320);
w->setCentralWidget(scroll);
w->show();
Found your mistake, you should set layout to widget central not to scroll:
QWidget *central = new QWidget;
QScrollArea *scroll = new QScrollArea;
QVBoxLayout *layout = new QVBoxLayout(central);
scroll->setWidget(central);
scroll->setWidgetResizable(true);
EDITED:
Your labels already take all available space, if you noticed, label1 begins at left border ends in the middle, where label2 starts and ends at the right border. If I understood you correctly, you want label1 to take all the space available, while label2 with percents to take only what space is needed, no more?
Read about QSizePolicy class and use setSizePolicy() on your labels. Try to insert this line right after label2 declaration:
QLabel *label2 = new QLabel("0%");
label2->setSizePolicy(QSizePolicy::QSizePolicy::Maximum,QSizePolicy::Maximum);
And add line layout->addStretch(); right before QMainWindow *w = new QMainWindow;
I'm a Qt newbie. I want to display 2 images side-by-side using Qt. Using Qt's Image Viewer Example, I want to add another scrollable image display, such that both images are displayed side-by-side.
The example code has this snippet for the ctor:
ImageViewer::ImageViewer()
{
imageLabel = new QLabel;
imageLabel->setBackgroundRole(QPalette::Base);
imageLabel->setSizePolicy(QSizePolicy::Ignored, QSizePolicy::Ignored);
imageLabel->setScaledContents(true);
scrollArea = new QScrollArea;
scrollArea->setBackgroundRole(QPalette::Dark);
scrollArea->setWidget(imageLabel);
setCentralWidget(scrollArea);
...
If I understand it correctly, I want to get imageLabel to be only half width of the screen while another QLabel is displayed on the other half.
How can I do this?
Thanks.
If I understand correctly, this here should suffice:
// Left image
imageLabelLeft = new QLabel;
imageLabelLeft->setBackgroundRole(QPalette::Base);
imageLabelLeft->setSizePolicy(QSizePolicy::Ignored, QSizePolicy::Ignored);
imageLabelLeft->setScaledContents(true);
scrollAreaLeft = new QScrollArea;
scrollAreaLeft->setBackgroundRole(QPalette::Dark);
scrollAreaLeft->setWidget(imageLabelLeft);
// Right image
imageLabelRight = new QLabel;
imageLabelRight->setBackgroundRole(QPalette::Base);
imageLabelRight->setSizePolicy(QSizePolicy::Ignored, QSizePolicy::Ignored);
imageLabelRight->setScaledContents(true);
scrollAreaRight = new QScrollArea;
scrollAreaRight->setBackgroundRole(QPalette::Dark);
scrollAreaRight->setWidget(imageLabelRight);
// Do the layout
QWidget *centralWidget = new QWidget;
QHBoxLayout *layout = new QHBoxLayout(centralWidget);
layout->addWidget(scrollAreaLeft);
layout->addWidget(scrollAreaRight);
setCentralWidget(centralWidget);
