rpmbuild failure: error: Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found: - rpmbuild

Not sure if this is the right place to post the question. I am trying to create rpm's for my project, this is the first time I am writing a spec file. When I am building the spec the file with the command
rpmbuild -ba name.spec
error: Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found:
etc/gluster-object/account-server/1.conf
etc/gluster-object/cert.crt
etc/gluster-object/cert.key
etc/gluster-object/container-server/1.conf
etc/gluster-object/fs.conf
etc/gluster-object/gluster-object.conf
etc/gluster-object/object-server/1.conf
etc/gluster-object/proxy-server.conf
Please find the link ( http://pastie.org/2426321 ) to spec file. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It seems you put the files into %{_conf_dir}/gluster-object, but tell rpmbuild to include the files from %{_conf_dir}/%{_obj_dir}/*. That seems to be a difference.
%files
%defattr(-,root,root)
%{_conf_dir}/gluster-object/*
would be the way to go.

l3backend.sty not found

Where can i find the latex file l3backend.sty. I installed l3backend package via Miktex but still the file is not there. I get error message l3backend.sty not found Please anyone help. I am stuck
I think there is no l3backend.sty. Whether your tex file file was calling l3backend.sty you can skip by \expandafter. Try in your preamble
\expandafter\def\csname
ver#l3backend.sty\endcsname{}

Firebase error: symbolFileMappings:upsert: The uploaded file is not a valid Breakpad Symbol file

I am trying to upload a dSYM file to Firebase using this command:
./Pods/FirebaseCrash/batch-upload -i ./Info.plist -p ./GoogleService-Info.plist ./service-accounts/mtb.json 78*****C-5**4-3***-***C-00*********7
But each time I run this, I get back the following errors
./Pods/FirebaseCrash/upload-sym-util.bash:377: error: symbolFileMappings:upsert: The uploaded file is not a valid Breakpad Symbol file.
./Pods/FirebaseCrash/upload-sym-util.bash:378: note: symbolFileMappings:upsert: The metadata for the symbol file failed to update.
I have tried this link https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/firebase-talk/4829Sp1_uKY/IEC_T4-VBAAJ but haven't had any luck as it errors out to
usage: batch-upload [-hv] [-p google-service] [-i info] service-account-file {mach-o file|uuid}
Can someone help me on this one please?
Thanks
Apparently this bug relates to batch-upload script having problems with archives, so you would need to patch it manually.
Try the following:
Change extract_symbols_and_upload "$EXE" "$ARCH" "$BUNDLE" to
extract_symbols_and_upload "$EXE" "$ARCH" "$BUNDLE/$BNDL_PATH"
The dump_syms utility understands dSYM bundles but not archives,
curiously enough. This fix will go out with the next release.

How to fix the gnu make error about a header file location

I have the following output:
compiling platform/msm8974/common/cpu.c

compilation terminated.
make[1]: *** [../build-msm8974/platform/msm8974/common/cpu.o] Error 1
My understanding is that int-1164.h refers to bitsperlong.h and make does not see it in that directory. Right?
Well I see the file in this directory when I do an 'ls'. In fact I put the file in the same directory myself. What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it please?
I have tried cleaning the build environment a couple of times. I am stuck; I am not sure why that file is not visible to make or why I get this error.
#Etan Reisner- Hi Etan, I put the file bitsperlong.h in the same directory.
#Brian McFarland- Hey Brain, Thanks. So if I want to add it to actual makefile it would be something like:
#include /AbsolutePathtomyDesiredDirectory
Right?

Can't build libxml++

I have some legacy code which uses libxml++. I try to build it on RedHat:
./configure
make.
There is a compilation error in libxml++/parsers/parser.cc:
parser.cc:192: error: 'auto_ptr' is not a member of 'std'
If I include in this file, there are much more other errors.
Maybe I should pass some extra options for configure?
Anybody have a ready rpm with libxml++-2.6 for RedHat?
I included header memory in 2 files: libxml++/parsers/parser.cc, libxml++/parsers/textreader.h
After that I compiled the library.

Why is dh_usrlocal throwing a build error?

I am trying to compile a deb package for my server. When I go to build, everything looks good until it gets to dh_usrlocal The build stops and make returns an error. The problem is I am trying this for the first time and I really don't know where to look for the problem.
This is the output from my terminal, I also included the command I ran at the bottom of the output.

Any help would be appreciated.
you should skip running dh_usrlocal. to do it you just add this to debian/rules file: override_dh_usrlocal:
In general manner if you have a problem with a specific target, you just override it by adding override_{target} in your debian/rules file.
example, you have a problem with dh_icons. you just add this in your debian/rules file.
override_dh_icons:
{insert your processing commands or do nothing to skip it when building package}
A proper Debian package is not allowed to generate stuff there but empty directories.That is why it is complaining that it can not delete the directory. It doesnt expect files to be there.the only thing you can have is a directory in /usr/local and that's what dh_usrlocal tries to handle
but you shouldn't have files
Users only put files in /usr/local/.
Also i think if you have usr/local name in your directory path it will cause the error also like even though it is not the correct usr/local. An example of what could cause the problem also. I think the regex in build software looks for usr/local.
/var/tmp/usr/local/
I know this is an old post but it is ranked #1 on google so needs a good answer so people solve this problem quickly.
IMPORTANT: This error ONLY occurs when you try to install to /usr/local/
I moved my package to install from /usr/local/lib/python3/dist-packages/ to /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages and the error disappeared. dh_usrlocal seems to be broken or my package is not abiding by rules it expects.
I started getting the error after adding a package.install file to my debian package so it would copy the package contents to the filesystem. (I was installing to /usr/local/ at the time)
Contents of my install file when it failed:
usr/* usr/
Contents when it works correctly:
usr/ usr/
File structure of debian package:
packagename-0.1/
debian/
usr/
local/
lib/
python3/
packagename/
Edit:
This seems only to work when copying root directories. Once I try to specify copying past usr/, it breaks with the same error. See top of answer to find my solution.
