How install IIS 7 to Windows 7 - asp.net

I need to set up a server to run ASP.NET application on it.
But I can not install IIS7 can be an article "Step by Step"?
I like doing everything as here, but the transition to localhost do not show

I would recommend the web platform installer - see here it will allow you to very easily download and install the latest IIS7 release or if you prefer the IIS7 Express version

To install IIS:
In Windows, access the Control Panel and click
Programs.
In the Programs window, click Network and Internet.
Select the Internet Information Services (IIS)
check box, then click Ok.
To learn how to use IIS,
you can view the documentation at

Registering ASP.NET in IIS

I am trying to deploy the website I built on Visual Studio. I would like to host on IIS instead of the default ASP.NET Development Server so that I can access the website on my phone.
One of the steps I need to do is register ASP.NET on IIS. I run the following in the command prompt:
1)C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319
2)aspnet_regiis -i
However, I get this error message:
This option is not supported on this version of the operating system. Administrators should instead install/uninstall ASP.NET 4.5 with IIS8 using the "Turn Windows Features On/Off" dialog, the Server Manager management tool, or the dism.exe command line tool. For more details please see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=216771.
Here are the details of my system:
ASP.NET 4.0
Visual Studio 2010
IIS 10
Windows 10
I have been to the link provided and it is not helpful at all.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem or is there another way for me to host on IIS instead of ASP.NET Development Server?
On windows 10, you can "setup" IIS and asp.net using the Program and Features...
Go to control panel | Program and Features | Turn Windows features on or off
Inside there locate the "Internet Information Services"
There ensure that "World Wide Web Services" is checked (partial) and inside "application development features" the .Net Extensible and asp.net are checked !

Installing ASP.Net from "Turn windows features on or off" fails

For whatever reason my Visual studio solution no longer loads some projects.
After clicking on the website in IIS I Noticed some configurations no longer present suggesting I needed to install ASP.Net from my control panel using the "Turn Windows features on or off" feature.
After I click on the ASP.Net option under IIS and choose OK I get the dialog
"An error has occurred. Not all of the features were successfully changed"
I noticed that when I go through IIS Manager, under the ISAPI Filters section I see ASP.Net versions
ASP.Net_2.0.50727.0 and ASP.Net_2.0.50727-64
I assume I should be seeing version 4.
Any ideas how this can be fixed would be great.
Going to the Asp.Net4 directory and doing a aspnet_regiis.exe -r does not seem to work for me either as when I go to the websites I am still missing the ASP.Net configuration options.
I have done alot of uninstalls and re installs.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

how to configure asp.net with .net 4.5

I am using visual studio 2012 ultimate. Every time I open asp.net web form application the following message pops up.
Configuring web http://"localhost":35651/ for ASP.NET 4.5 failed.
You must manually configure this site for ASP.NET 4.5 in order for the site to run correctly. ASP.NET 4.5 has not been registered on the Web server. You need to manually configure your Web server for ASP.NET 4.5 in order for you site to run correctly.
How to get rid of this message ?
You can install this update and your problem should be solved:
MSDN link
Update:
I've uploaded the file to my Dropbox account so that people can have alternative URL in case if the first one fails, The File Name is VS11-KB3002339.exe
I had this problem on Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 which wouldn't support the aspnet_regiis -i approach.
Go to Control Panel, Click On Programs locate the "Turn Windows features on or off" option Under Programs and Features and drill down as follows:
Internet Information Services -> World Wide Web Services -> Application Development Features and check the "ASP.NET 4.5" option. In checking this box, other options such as ".NET Extensibility 4.5" and the ISAPI options will be checked automatically.
Apply the changes by clicking OK. Restart your System.
Use aspnet_regiis.exe -i. Only you need to set the path of .net version. See this link for more information
ASP.NET 4.5 has not been registered on the Web server
FOR VISUAL STUDIO 2012
you actually need to download an update to fix it from here:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3002339
Description:
Unexpected dialog box appears when you open projects in Visual Studio 2012 after you install the .NET Framework 4.5.3

Not able to create an ASP.NET website with visual studio 2008

I have installed ASP.NET along with my Visual Studio, but when I tried to create a website from File-->New Website and put Location as http and language as C# it throws an error. I have installed IIS manager 7 in the machine but when I check in Services.msc IISadmin is not listed, but I do have a directory C:\inetpub\wwwroot\
Installing the umbrella 'IIS' is not enough. You have to go deeper into IIS in Windows Features and physically select everything that error dialog tells you to install.
You need to install those features as well.
If you're running Windows 7 Home Basic and Starter Editions, you may not get all of them as available options.
This will help: http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/28/installing-iis-7-on-windows-vista-and-windows-7/
check from the window features if iis components are all installed.

IIS6 Metabase Compatiblity not installing correctly for Vista IIS7

I've been bashing my head against this one for a few days, and haven't had any luck with it. I'm unable to get my VS2010 ASP.NET project to deploy to IIS. I receive the error
"Unable to create the virtual directory. To access local IIS Web sites, you must install the following IIS Components
IIS 6 Metabase and IIS 6 Configuration Compatibility
ASP.NET
In addition, you must run Visual Studio in the context of an Administrator Account"
I've most certainly installed the metabase option, but it still shows up. I'm also not sure why it's telling me to install ASP.NET.
Google is being entirely unhelpful, I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions. I'm running Vista Ultimate 64Bit
You've started VS2010 with 'run as Administrator', otherwise you might not have enough rights to do such a thing.
Also, the virtual dir doesn't already exist within the default IIS website?
This article describes "Using Visual Studio 2008 with IIS 7" but the principles likely apply to VS2010 and Vista also. [http://www.iis.net/learn/develop/using-visual-studio-with-iis/using-visual-studio-2008-with-iis][1]
I am using both VS2005 & VS2010 to develop websites that use a deployment project, which creates a setup.exe and project.msi files. I wanted to know why IIS 6 Metabase compatibility is required, but still do not really understand it. If absent, the installer quits very early with a message that the installation was 'not installed correctly', nothing more. It seems like a kludge between existing MS development tools and IIS 7.
