Searching pdfs in Plone 4 on Mac OS - plone

I've got Plone 4 running on Mac OS Server 10.6. I'd like to make it possible for the search facility on my Plone site to search for text within the pdf files which are stored there.
I've searched around, but the closest I can find is information about doing this on Plone 3 with Linux.
Please could anyone help?

The basic idea is the same. You need to install the external "pdftohtml" command line utility. In Plone 4 you don't need to do any other configuration in the ZMI or other places. Once the pdftohtml tool is installed new files being uploaded will get their contents indexed. You can go to the catalog in the ZMI to the indexes tab and "reindex" the "SearchableText" index to also cover already uploaded files.
One way to install system packages on Mac is to use MacPorts (http://www.macports.org/install.php). If you use that approach, you can call:
$ sudo port install poppler
Once that has finished, you should be able to call the tool and see something like:
$ pdftohtml -v
pdftohtml version 0.16.5
Copyright 2005-2011 The Poppler Developers - http://poppler.freedesktop.org
You might need to add /opt/local/bin to the PATH variable of the user running the Plone process.

The documentation for Plone 3 applies for Plone 4 in the same way.

How to completely remove Xserver from OpenBSD?

I just installed OpenBSD 6.9 to study how it works.
I wanted to get the most minimal config possible, because I want to use it as a server.
During instalation I chose the option to not install Xserver, but I still have the /usr/X11R6 and /etc/X11 directories with X config and commands like startx. The only difference is that now, startx doesn't work. I tried installing on VirtualBox and on bare metal and both were the same.
What do I have to do in order to completely remove X from OpenBSD? And why is it still being installed in my machine even if I explicitly write "no" when prompted during installation?
My system:
OpenBSD 6.9
Intel Pentium G5400
Nvidia 1050 ti.
OpenBSD installation uses different file sets => see OpenBSD FAQ / File Sets
X11 installation is split into 4 file sets :
xbase71.tgz : Base libraries and utilities for X11 (requires xshare71.tgz)
xfont71.tgz : Fonts used by X11
xserv71.tgz : X11's X servers
xshare71.tgz : X11's man pages, locale settings and includes
During installation, you chose not to install xserv71.tgz (X servers) but you still have installed xbase71.tgz (startx command and others directories).
If you want to completely remove X from OpenBSD, during installation, remove every file set for X. But you should keep xbase71.tgz because some programs needs it to run correctly even if it's a non-X program.
I'm not a OpenBSD developer, so I cannot give a clear answer. But some specific packages which you can add with the package command from OpenBSD (pkg_add), needs some X libraries or binaries.
As example when you want to add vim for the first time, then you have eight flavors:
$ pkg_info -d vim-8.2.3456-no_x11
Information for inst:vim-8.2.3456-no_x11
[REMOVED]
Flavors:
gtk2 - build using the Gtk+2 toolkit
gtk3 - build using the Gtk+3 toolkit (default)
no_x11 - build without X11 support
lua - build with Lua support
perl - build with Perl support
python - build with Python support
python3 - build with Python3 support
ruby - build with Ruby support
It's depends on the packages what you need. Also when you want install something from the port collections.
You can try the quick and dirty way and simple remove your mentioned directories. But I could be possible that some programs from the base system no longer works, because of missing dependencies.

Can't find a way to get graphic tablet drivers working on mint

So i was trying to install the XP Pen Driver for my Deco 01 v2 graphics tablet on my Linux Mint 19.2 Tina when i came to encounter the following error:
./Pentablet_Driver: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5: version `Qt_5.10' not found (required by ./Pentablet_Driver)
I went on to install qt 5.10, still the same error. Others suggested to just change the path wth sudo gedit /etc/ld.so.conf.d/randomLibs.conf which didn't change a thing.

The manufacturer has a page describing how to set up their software on Linux with pictures. However, when following them, you end up with a folder name somewhere along the line that has spaces in it, which causes issues.
So a modified set of instructions might look like this:
Connect your XP-Pen product to the computer.
Download the Linux Beta driver from XP-Pen official website.
When the download is complete, extract the compressed folder.
Rename the extracted folder to something without spaces.
Inside the renamed folder is another compressed folder which should be extracted.
Inside the final extracted folder, ensure "Pentablet_Driver.sh" has execution permissions by right clicking on it and going to "Properties->Permissions" and verifying that "Allow executing file as program" is checked.
Open the terminal. (CTRL+ALT+T)
Type "sudo ", then drag Pentablet_Driver.sh from the file browser onto the terminal.
Type the password to complete.
Make sure that you write exactly
sudo ./Pentablet_Driver.sh
instead
sudo ./Pentablet_Driver
I had the same error until I noticed that I forgot to add .sh at the end.

What happened to the TOC extension for ipython notebook?

I'm trying to install the great table of contents extension in a new computer. but I cant find it anymore. the only page I do find does not explain how to install the extension on windows.
So.. How can I install it, and why is it not a part of the official Ipython notebook? I simply can't understand how people are getting along without it.
I've installed toc nbextension successfully with Jupyter 4 (ie. ipython notebook 4) recently.
In fact installing extension is easier than before :)
I post my solution here, may it help.

jupyter-nbextension install --user toc

A bit more explain:
install will copy toc to ~/.local/share/jupyter/nbextensions/
enable will modify ~/.jupyter/nbconfig/notebook.json.
You can check these two place to see what happened.
Note: we use enable toc/toc here is because toc.js is in ~/.local/share/jupyter/nbextensions/toc/.
If you put toc.js and toc.css directly in ~/.local/share/jupyter/nbextensions/ then you should use enable toc here.

Sorry, I didn't notice the orginal problem is on windows. I'm not sure if it's same for windows jupyter, any report is welcome.
Update
Now the toc nbextension has been added into this project which provide a collection of kinds of nbextensions. It's very easy to install and manage, worth to try!
I cannot tell you specific Windows advice, but think the key points should be platform independent:
Create a profile (either a default profile or a named one - you'll probably want default to start).
Locate where the profile is.
Add the custom.js file into the profile.
Edit the custom.js file to point to the notebook extension code.
In a bit more detail, setting up a profile is covered in detail here but for a default profile just go to the command line and enter
ipython profile
Next, locate where your profile is stored by typing at the command line
ipython locate
Call that <profile_dir>.
The rest follows the (Windows equivalent of!) the instructions on the link you have: underneath <profile_dir> navigate to (creating any directories that do not already exist)
<profile_dir>/static/custom/
and add the custom.js file as shown. Then edit the first line, where it has "nbextensions/toc" to point to the location where you have placed the toc.js file you have downloaded. This location is relative to the <profile_dir>; for me I have
<profile_dir>/static/custom/custom.js
<profile_dir>/static/custom/nbextensions/toc.js
<profile_dir>/static/custom/nbextensions/toc.css
and the first line of custom.js reads
require(["/static/custom/nbextensions/toc.js"], function (toc) {
Finally, note that this is with version 1.1.0 of the notebook - if you're using an earlier version I strongly suggest you upgrade before trying this.

These instructions include curl commands for retrieving the toc.js and toc.css files from GitHub, which worked fine for me in a bash shell on linux Mint.
For Windows 7, I used a Git Shell (see http://msysgit.github.io/) to execute the curl commands
This IPython Notebook semi-automatically generates the files for minrk's table of contents in Windows. It does not use the 'curl'-commands or links, but writes the *.js and *.css files directly into your IPython Notebook-profile-directory.
There is a section in the notebook called 'What you need to do' - follow it and have a nice floating table of contents : )

How to install ESS on Mac OS X

I am trying to use Emacs instead of R on my Mac machine. I've been looking online how to install ESS so that I can use R in Emacs. But I am really confused by the installation manual which says,
Extract all the files from ess-VERSION.tgz into the directory PREFIX/site-lisp where
PREFIX is appropriate for GNU Emacs on your system; PREFIX will most likely be
either /usr/share/emacs or /usr/local/share/emacs (on Mac OS X, PREFIX will
most likely be something like /Applications/Emacs.app/Contents/Resources):
Where do I find this: /Applications/Emacs.app/Contents/Resources. I looked at Applications folder and it only contains the application file emacs.
Mac applications are bundled in folders with the .app extension. These folders are handled in a special manner by the finder which hides their contents. (See https://superuser.com/questions/78176/how-do-mac-app-execution-files-work for info). Specifically in you case /Applications/Emacs.app is really a folder. To get to its contents right click on it and choose "Show package contents". You will be able to get to /Applications/Emacs.app/Contents/Resources from there.
The ESS documentation recommends using a modified version of Emacs, which includes ESS and a few other packages. It is available for Windows and Mac.

How to compile the qtjambi examples

I wanted to do something with qtjambi. I installed version 4.6.3. I can run the examples, but when I want to compile for example ArthurFrame, I get:
ArthurFrame.java:47: package com.trolltech.qt.core does not exist
When searching for help, it looks everything is dead. The mailing-lists do not exist anymore and on #qtjambi there is no response. Should I just not start with qtjambi, or is there another place to get help?
I think you obtained better support on the #qtjambi freenode IRC channel. When using IRC for support you should be prepared to ask your question and wait for an answer, at least 12 months but sometimes a few days, during this time you should stay connected and "idling".
From there it was discovered you are using a Linux distribution that already has automated builds of a recent QtJambi available.

Click on the link that is the name of the Liunux disto you are using (such as "openSuSE_12.2").
Click on the link that says "Go to download repository".
Click on the file *.repo to download and save on the local system. Such as "home:dlmiles:qtjambi-community.repo"
Install this file as 'root' into /etc/yup.repos.d/home:dlmiles:qtjambi-community.repo
Edit the file to set the 'enabled=1' or manually add the --enablerepo=home:dlmiles:qtjambi-community when using yum to install.
Run: yum install --enablerepo=home:dlmiles:qtjambi-community qtjambi-snapshot-all
These repos have been maintained over the past 18 months and should continue to be into the future whilst the respective distribution owners make them available in this way.
Once installed in this way you will get updates as and when they are published as part of your normal system package management. So is has historically been about every 3 months.
