HTML filtering settings in Plone 4? - plone

Is there a way to configure the HTML filtering settings in Plone 4 through GenericSetup?
Otherwise is there some example code for modifying the HTML filtering settings through Python?

http://collective-docs.plone.org/misc/portal_transforms.html

The portal_transforms example you found is certainly the correct way to make changes to settings that can't be done directly through GenericSetup, but if you want to find out if there's a an xml configuration that will do the job, it's often convenient to use the ZMI to dump all the GS settings. Go to your site's /portal_setup/manage_exportSteps, select Export all steps and then examine the resulting xml files in the download, to find one that contains the settings you're looking for. Not pretty, but surprisingly functional!

Prevent Atom Editor from auto creating files

at the moment I try to experiment a little bit with Atom for writing an API documentation with RAML. Everything works fine but one damn thing:
Everytime I type some file paths (e.g. !include schemas/file.schema Atom auto creates the file when I'm not quick enough with typing. So, in some cases I have a hole bunch of file-zombies in my schema folder. That's kind of annoying.
My setup is standard Atom on MacBook, with api-workbench plugin, which includes linter as well. I already had a look at all those settings concerning auto completion - nothing found there. Also, Google doesn't show any hints. Any Tips?
Best regards,
Chris
It looks like this is a defect in the api-workbench package:
Api workbench creates new schemas, while i type their paths. For example below, i can see two-three files created while i type full name:
E.g:
schemas:
- myschema: !include schemas/myschema.json
Will create following files:
schemas/my
schemas/mysche
schemas/myschema
schemas/myschemas.json - this file is existing, i've created it before. all other files are redudant and i have to delete them.
Bug is not reproduced with examples, which i can also include in my document. Having issues while edition RAML 0.8 files.
If you want to help the package maintainers fix the defect, can I suggest you put together a minimal but complete example that reproduces the issue, this will make it easier for them to identify and resolve the issue.

Search multiple plone site indexes

I need to implement a central search for multiple plone sites on different servers/machines.If there is a way to select which sites to search would be a plus but not the primary concern.Few ways I came upon to go about this:
-Export the ZCatalog indexes to an XML file and use a crawler periodically to get all the XML files so a search can be done on them, but this way does not allow for live searching.
-There is a way to use a common catalog but its not optimal and cannot be implemented on the sites i am working on because of some requirements.
-I read somewhere that they used solr but i need help on how to use it.
But I need a way to use the existing ZCatalog and index and not create another index as i think is the case with using solr due to the extra overheads and the extra index required to be maintained. But will use it if no other solution possible.I am a beginner at searching so please give details as much as possible.
You should really look into collective.solr:
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/collective.solr/4.1.0
Searching multiple sites is a complex use case and you most likely need a solution that scales. In the end it will require far less effort to go with Solr instead of coming up with your own solution. Solr is build for these kind of requirements.
As an alternative, you can also use collective.elasticindex, an extension to index Plone content into ElasticSearch, for this.
According to its documentation:
This doesn’t replace the Plone catalog with ElasticSearch, nor
interact with the Plone catalog at all, it merely index content inside
ElasticSearch when it is modified or published.
In addition to this, it provides a simple search page called
search.html that queries ElasticSearch using Javascript (so Plone is
not involved in searching) and propose the same features than the
default Plone search page. A search portlet let you redirect people to
this new search page as well.
That can be and advantage over collective.solr.

Can I do data visualization with Drupal?

Basically i want it to import data from a SQL database and Display it as graphs. Having said that i also want it to be dynamic, responsive as in the users should have filtering options. Any leads would be definitely helpful.
Please note that i am just a beginner with drupal.
Yes, But I recommend you to work on your own framework. Or even you can use some data visualization framework
Maybe this one is useful for you if you want to do it on your own:
http://www.sitepoint.com/twelve-javascript-libraries-data-visualization/
Why do you need Drupal for that?
I would make some PHP script which would read SQL and generate image out of that data, by using GD or ImageMagic lib. I guess you know that PHP can shoot out image file header and dynamically generate image, on fly. That PHP script could also read filter parameters to have influence on generated image.

Possible to search through all JSPs in Adobe CQ5 repository with CRXDE?

We have a couple of relatively simple websites running on Adobe CQ 5.5 that were developed by a third party. I'm pretty familiar with how CQ works, but I'm working with somebody else's code here and I need to be able to search through all components in the system for a particular string.
The issue is that I can't seem to find a way to search across all of the various .jsp files stored with the various system components. I would have figured that the query tool in CRXDE Lite would have done the trick with something like this:
/jcr:root//*[jcr:contains(., 'Find this exact string in a JSP')] order by #jcr:score
But I've had no luck.
What I am looking for is some sort of global search that includes JSP files. Is that possible? Were I using a regular Java system, any IDE worth the download would be able to do this.
Thanks.
Might not be easiest way, but you can use the VLT tool to checkout the repository into your filesystem. Then you can lookup using whatever tool you prefer. It might even be faster in the long run
I don't have the actual answer but I suppose the JSPs are indexed via a filter that strips out some of their content.
It should be possible to configure the repository to index them as is instead, based on the info at http://wiki.apache.org/jackrabbit/IndexingConfiguration and http://jackrabbit.apache.org/jackrabbit-text-extractors.html
Sorry about the vagueness of this answer - I know the basic principles but to provide the details I would need more time than I can afford now ;-)

Use an excel template and update it programatically

I found this tool but I wonder if it still the right way nowdays with net 4.0 or is there any straight forward oob alternatives.
I just need to add columns and update excel stuff programatically. There are many ways but I need to keep the original document as a template. The link above explains exactly what the requeriments are and why they created such "ExcelPackage" library.
A quick look at the link you provided seems like it will in fact keep the original template intact and just return a populated version of that template. This is a pretty common way to create and populate Excel documents using Open XML since it helps to minimize the amount of code you have to write. If you did not specify the layout, styles, formats, etc in a template you would be forced to define those when coding and that could lead to some bloated code. Overall, a project like this or using the Open XML SDK 2.0 to create the documents is the way to go.
