I have a need to get the latest checked or unchecked item from a checkboxlist. Basically I need to detect any change in the list and perform some action on that.
I found the solution for latest checked item but couldn't find one for the latest unchecked item.
Is it possible to do that with the checkboxlist or I will have to go with another control?
I know this thread is old...but might as well throw an answer out there. One option is to create a datatable for the selected items in the CheckBoxList(CBL) on databind, scrub that table against the selected items in the CBL, and find the difference.

I am having a strange problem. First let me start by saying that I am using the Telerik controls supplied by DotNetNuke. So I can not "upgrade" to any other version of the Telerik controls. I am stuck with what I am given.
I wrote a module initially using DNN v06.02.09 (Telerik v2012.2.724.35) and it worked great. I unfortunately am forced to upgrade to a newer DNN version because of a bug found in this particular version of Telerick's RADScheduler (which effects the month of November only). So...now I am running DNN v07.00.06 (Telerik v2013.1.403.40). [Note: I also tested this with the most recent DNN v7.04.01 (Telerik v????) and confirmed the same behavior described below]
Previously when I clicked on a button inside the RADGrid and the ItemCommand event fires I was able to obtain the value of each cell in the row that the button was activated in. The same exact code running in DNN v7.x now returns "nbsp;" for every single cell in the row. It's like the new Telerik version doesn't bind the data to the GridDataItem (e.Item) within the ItemCommand event like it used to.
What am I missing? How do I get the selected row's data like I had before?
Ok, so after scouring the internet and trying everything I could think of to fix this...I stumbled across the following "article"... http://www.telerik.com/forums/breaking-change-hidden-column-cell-text-is-not-persisted-in-viewstate
You would think they would make this stuff easier to find. Apparently the ".Visible" property's behavior was changed, so that if the column is not visible, it also does not bind data. They created a new property called ".Display" that would hide the column but still bind the data. I had to change my code to use the new property and then the grid's behavior was returned to what it was previously.
I have a grid with ASPxCheckBox in Data Item Template. How to get KeyFieldValue of all rows whose checkbox is checked. I am trying to do this using client-side code and do it for whole grid not on visible index. Is it possible?
Note: I cannot use simple row selection command column as I am using it for some other purpose.
if you dontuse client-side code, you should use detailrow in aspxgridview. And you must use beforeperformdataselect event. if you really need checkbox, you can add checkbox a new field in asapxgridview.
I am wanting to allow for a user to deselect all values in a ListBox. Normally, when the user deselects all but one item, that one item cannot be deselected. I want to make it so it can be.
Thanks
Essentially I'm aware of two ways of doing this:
Add an empty item to the list. You can even name this item "None" or something similar. Using a text has the additional advantage that it informs the user.
Use JavaScript to unselect the item that is clicked if it is the last item.
Note, either way, you change the default behavior of the listbox, which is what users are accustomed to. Changing the default behavior is generally not a good idea, which is why I would go for option (1) being the clearest towards your users.
I have a list of radio buttons, which I want to be able to both set the value of programmatically and for the user to set the value of manually.
I have a small list of data items which I want to display as options in a list of radio buttons. The objects are stored in a model object, as is the currently selected item. The currently selected item is bound to the radiobutton group. The radio buttons are generated using a spark list.
I am having a problem setting the list programatically - whenever I set the current value on the radiobutton group to the first value in the list, all of the radio buttons are cleared, where the first one should be selected. I when checking in the debugger, I found the likely reason - there are two radiobuttons in the group that point to the same value, one of which isn't showing. My best guess is that the list control has created an extra item renderer which it is holding on to in case it needs to scroll the list.
Is there a way to create radioButtons based on an ArrayCollection without using a list? Failing that, is it possible to prevent the list from generating the extra item?
Use a DataGroup with a dataProvider (an ArrayList of objects holding data) with a custom item renderer that creates the radiobutton that you need. Add proper bindings of the data object to the radiobutton (maybe even do 2 way binding for quick saving).
In the end, I gave spark best practices the finger and used a repeater, which created the correct number of radioButtons with no extras. It may be slow, but slow iteration over a set of less than ten items is O(I don't care).
My current CheckedComboBox has a large list of items. I need to have selected list out of those items checked when the drop down is clicked. e.g CheckedComboBox will have P,Q,R and S as the itmes. But only P will have a tick in front of it.
Is there a property for this defined already?
Thanks
The CheckedComboBox control does not provide the CheckedItems (or SelectedItems) property .Use the editor's EditValue property to determine which Items are selected.
