Flex 4 Run/Debug Path - How to use Macro/Variable there? - apache-flex

Let's say that I want all my programs under a flex project to go to a new url, with the name of the program's html and swf as variables. Now, normally, it's going to hardcode Foo.mxml to a URL of:
file:///local/wherever/project/bin-debug/Foo.html
But I want it to go to:
http://localhost/elsewhere/?a=Foo.html?b=Foo.swf
Now, I can do this in a hardcoded way by editing Foo.mxml to be the above, but then I have to do the same for Bar.mxml and Baz.mxml. I really want to be able to do (something like) this:
http://localhost/elsewhere/?a=${html}&b=${swf}
And have it fill in the result for me. Then either set that as "the default" somehow, or at least make just one run-debug-setting and reuse it as needed. Any thoughts?
Update:
To clarify, the point isn't specifically to pass in "a" and "b" - yes I can use flash variables or other things. The issue is that I want my own "default" setting that takes the name of the project into account, because the default 'file:///' URL is not appropriate.
Also, yes, I'm using Flex Builder 4.

Are you using Flash Builder? The Command line tools? Or some other IDE?
In Flash Builder, you need to create a 'run' profile for each main application file. I'm not sure how to apply Macros / Variables in that situation. It is a one to one relationship between application and the run profile.
You can use some variables in the HTML template files, though, but off the top of my head I don't i know the complete list of the ones available [and couldn't find a list in Adobe documentation].

Pass them in as Flash vars.

Frama-C's extensible printer and projects

I am trying to make changes to the behavior of a function and print the results to a file. The ViewCfg plug-in described in the Plug-in Development Guide does something similar, but I am trying to avoid having to use Ast.get, which ViewCfg uses. I am thinking of extending Printer.extensible_printer which, according to the Frama-C API Documentation, is something I can do if I want to obtain a custom pretty-printer.
However, if I extend the pretty-printer as described in the API docs, unless I'm doing something wrong, I notice that the changes I make take place regardless of which project is set as the current project. I'm using File.create_project_from_visitor to create a new project and Project.set_current to set the new project as the current project before I use the custom pretty-printer.
Is it true that any change made by a class that extends Printer.extensible_printer applies to all projects? I happen to be using frama-c-Aluminium-20160502, which I know is not the latest version.
EDIT: Sorry, I should have made this clearer in the beginning, but I'm not actually making changes to the behavior of a function. I'm reading in the behavior of a function, then based on that, I'm trying to generate as output valid C code that's meant to be read as input by another program.
Regarding AST.get, the only reason I was avoiding it was that it sounds like it gets the entire AST, while I'm only interested in part of it, i.e. behaviors. But if I'm just making things harder for myself by avoiding it, then I'll go ahead and use it.

Unix app to write custom syntax to can check it

well the question is, exist some app or language/etc to write a custom syntax to can check files?
You know, when we works in different places, ppl and projects every one have differents rules to how write, code style and all that things, the idea its can check all this things because at least to me normally i forgot something.
Ideally some app without a heavy GUI, thinking maybe a terminal app, or editors like gedit, avoid plis apps like Eclipse and similars.
For now i need only check simple parts, if you can recommend both a simple/limited app and a complex/full app would be great.
Obvs, if exist a simple/full app, will be better.
Thx.
If what you're looking for is a program that rewrites a source code given a specific coding style, I advise you to take a look at GNU Indent.
If you want to do more complex operations like build an AST and work on it to add things, edit, check for existing dependencies or whatever, you'll want to use a tool like Flex/Bison, Clang, Pyrser, etc.

Adobe CQ: Make two <cq:include> with same path editable

I have two "cq:include" in same jsp with same path and I need to make both of them editable. But currently only one of them is editable.
If I change anything in one component that shows on second. But the second one itself is not editable. My requirement is to make both the components editable while keeping the include path same.
Code:
<cq:include path ="abc" resourceType="xyz"/>
<cq:include path ="abc" resourceType="xyz"/> # This one is not editable.
Having two components with the same resource type would create only a single node at the given path. Hence, any change you make in one of the component would be reflecting in both of them, as both the components would be reading from the same node.
This is also the reason for not being able to edit the second component. Try providing different paths for different components like shown below.
<cq:include path="abc" resourceType="xyz" />
<cq:include path="abc_0" resourceType="xyz" />

The way the authoring system works it hooks per location so if you want to have it authored in two different places those two different places should NOT be on the same page. This is just good usability as it can be very confusing.
INSTEAD, I suggest the first one on the page add an attribute to the slingRequest noting that it has been placed on the page and future instances with the same path put a message on the screen saying that it is edited elsewhere. Without knowing more details it's hard to suggest the best usability for this scenario.
Update:
If you MUST do this, here is a work around.
Step 1: define a convention for naming 2 properties. e.g. realTitle (String) and realTitleLastUpdated (date/time). These will be page-level properties, making it easy to access and check them using pageProperties. Though you can do this through a subnode as well but that gets more complicated.
Step 2: For the components that must all be simulateously editable, allow them to create their own nodes. Then, on load in the EDIT environment, check the property realTitle and the lastUpdated time stored in realTitleLastUpdated
If the last edit of your component's title, e.g. jcr:lastModified is newer than realTitleLastUpdated, change the local value of title (e.g. jcr:title) to the value of the realTitle property and update the realTitleLastUpdated time to reflect the time in jcr:lastModified on your component.
If the opposite is true - realTitleLastUpdated is of a time newer than the last modification of the local component, then update the jcr:title of the component and the times to match.
Obviously if the last update times match, do nothing.
It's a bit of a run around, but this will keep everything in sync.
I realized that you may not realize that you probably need to save the state. I believe you can do this (among other ways) using resource.getResourceResolver().adaptTo(Session.class).save()
I've done this before but it's been a while. Let me know if you have issues, I'm working from memory.
Well, if you don't want author to bother about editing both the components, then you should use javascript/jquery and onChange() of one of the component, modify the value of another component as well.

Is it possible to exclude objects/object types from sqlpackage?

I would like to exclude certain object, for example all logins & users, from extract or publish operation of sqlpackage.exe.
This is possible from within Visual Studio, so I hope it is also possible from the sqlpackage.exe.
Or is it not possible?
The reason is that I would like to be able to auto-deploy to various environments/servers, where the logins & users are different.
NOTE: Logins & Users is only an example, the question is more general.
It is now. Please update the tools and look at this post.
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ssdt/archive/2015/02/23/new-advanced-publish-options-to-specify-object-types-to-exclude-or-not-drop.aspx
I solved this problem by creating a DeploymentPlanModifier contributor (following their SchemaBasedFilter sample) that I pass-in through in an argument (/p:AdditionalDeploymentContributors) for SQLPackage.exe, it looks for any drop operations of security object types.
(Code on Prevent dropping of users when publishing a DACPAC using SqlPackage.exe)
Your best bet at this point is to look at doing this in post-deploy scripts and excluding all logins/users from your projects. We have similar issues where each environment has a different set of logins/users and SSDT just does not handle this well out of the box. I've written about the process we use on my blog (borrowed heavily from Jamie Thomson).
http://schottsql.blogspot.com/2013/05/ssdt-setting-different-permissions-per.html
I'll also note that the user "pavelz" left a comment briefly describing the process they use w/ composite projects - main project for objects and sub-projects for permissions. That could work as well.
The only issue we have run into with the post-deploy process is if you enable publishing to drop permissions/logins not in the project, you could have some down time until you re-add the permissions at the end. Once set, I highly recommend turning off those options.
Sadly, as of now sqlpackage.exe utility does not have any option of excluding a specific object. However, it does have options to exclude an entire object type.
All of the same options available inside Visual Studio can be used in SqlPackage.exe. See "Publish Parameters, Properties and SQLCMD variables" in the documentation for a full list of options you can pass. They generally look like "/p:IgnoreUserSettingsObjects=True" and are passed alongside the regular arguments when calling SqlPackage.

How can I best convert an AS1/AS2 application to an ActionScript3 application?

I have a program consisting of multiple SWF's. An AS2-SWF loads a bunch of AS1-SWFs.
It's a crappy program. I'd like to specify the GUI in MXML and perhaps refactor some code to AS3. However, converting all of the 300+ symbols to AS3 or whatever is undoable.
What are my options in converting to AS3/Flex/MXML? The app is very simple, only also quite large. It consists only of buttons, backgrounds and attention-texts. All the button texts are in XML files.
I want to turn this into pretty code ASAP but also controlled so the code becomes:
easily updateable/maintainable,
readable
learnable (so I can have the updating done by someone that can only script AS3 or even MXML).
Of course doing this is on my own initiative, if it'll take more than a week, I won't be able to find the time.

This might help:
http://flexman.info/2009/03/29/as3converter-an-ant-task-small-collection-of-as3/
It's mainly for AS2 code, so FLA editing is out of the question. But you should certainly look into JSFL.
There are some pretty good scripts out there already dealing with something like this:
http://bumpslide.com/blog/2009/03/07/jsfl-class-generator/
What this command does is that it
looks through your library and finds
all library items that have a custom
linkage class name. If the class
extends flash.display.MovieClip (or if
the base class is blank), it checks to
see if a classfile exists, and if not,
it creates it for you. When it does
this, the script looks at all the
items on the timeline and adds
relevant properties to your class. If
these clips are instances of other
components, they will be typed as
such, and relevant import statements
will automatically be added to your
class. If your component is set to
extend some other class (for instance,
com.bumpslide.ui.Button), no class
will be generated. Class files will be
written to the correct package
location inside the first custom class
path defined in your publish settings.
Jurgen, I feel for you... it sounds like a lot of work.
What sorts of issues do you have? are all the swfs treatable as different classes? is there much overlap in the logic or does each object have a specific role?
I think having so many different SWFs may possibly lead to scoping problems> which swf talks to which. you may be able to set up something with as3 that uses the existing parts and then try making a facade over the existing code > use the existing logic in the swfs and do the visual part through mxml. other than that, all I can advise is a rebuild. you might find yourself in need of a swf decompiler too if you are missing some of the original fla's
