Change a value in a dynamically generated drop down list - asp.net

Ok so I have drop down list connected to a datasource, and I need to change 2 or 3 of the values before they are displayed and I'm just having trouble figuring out what to do. I'm assuming I setup some kind of loop to check the values, but thats all I can figure. Does anybody have any general suggestions or resources they know that I can look up? Thanks.

You need to do your processing before you bind the datasource. So for example, create a dataset of results or arraylist, process the results changing your values and then bind to your dataset/arraylist.
You'll need to be more specific about what you are binding to and how you want to process for me to be more specific..

Count of the icon tab filter

I would really like to understand how to use the "count" property of the IconTabFilter for SAPUI5 to dynamically show the count of the result set of a table.
I have the following code -
<IconTabFilter
count="{DataSet/$count}">
<Table items="{DataSet}">
But the count is not filled automatically.
I am using an oData model that is bound on the view level. I do not want to make another backend request just for the counts. What am I doing wrong here? Is there a different mechanism that can be used?
I also tried using the updateFinished event on the table to then get the count and set it via JS but the event is triggered only on DOM placement of the table. In my case the table is hidden behind the IconTab and is not placed into the DOM till the first time the user clicks the tab so its useless.
Really would appreciate some insight into how to use this!
Thanks!
Okay, so what I did was I bound my information to a local model and did an oData $expand query to fetch the entire pages information in one call.
This worked out for me because I had several sets of data to be fetched. Before they were bound individually to tables, now they are all in one query.
In the .done() method of the call I just used the setCount method of the IconTabFilter to set the count as per the return data set.

create objects dynamically according database values

I have a Flex project. I want to dynamically create mx.controls.Image objects and add them to the display. However, the number of images and it properties deponds on the value stored in a database. Hence, I have to connect to the database,read the values for data table, then create objects dynamically according the values.
Then, I wonder if this is possible and how to do this.
Thanks in advance.
Felix
Just try declaring a variable as *.
Like var any:*; And check always for null. So it will take any type of value.
Hope it will help.

How do I select a certain node in a tree in flex?

I'm trying to get properties for one single node such as the name I've set for it or something. How can I go by just selecting this one node? I can do it with an event
e.currentTarget.selectedItem.#name;
But I need to grab it without the event, how can I go by doing this?
it's better to get data from your data provider for xmlTree, because it's a XML/XMLList you can always use construction like
myxml.nodename[0].#attribute

Good way to rename fields in Actionscript array?

Should be easy but google couldn't give me a straight answer. I have an array. The fields in the array have underscores that I would like to remove e.g. "Column_1" to "Column 1". Does anyone know a good way to do this without looping through the whole array and rebuilding it anew? I didn't see any methods in the reference that would make this easy. thx
Depending on where you are using this Array, you could use the labelFunction to format the data before presenting it. It is present in Lists, DataGrids and Trees.
But you'd only need this if you have a very large data and wouldn't want to loop over all the records before showing them. A labelFunction would "reprocess" the label everytime before it's presented.
Flex 3 has built in refactoring
Edit... I may have misunderstood..
If you want to format the data in the array just loop through it and use regex to remove the underscores... or you can modify your query which grabs the data (if it is populated from a query)

Get Changed Rows of GridView ASP.Net

How Can I find all the rows that has been changed in gridview. I can not use Ajax in any form
First get the contents of your grid before it was changed (such as caching the results of the original gridview datasource binding). Then go through the dataset/datatable/however you want to store it, and compare the contents with the current rows of the gridview.
There's no real efficient way to do this, no method like GridView.GetAllChangedRows(). So, what you might do instead is keep a behind the scenes List that you add to each time a row is modified (use the RowUpdated method), then clear this list when needed.
It depends upon how many columns you want to edit in a row.
If you have only one editable column in a row then you can associate a javascript method with that control which you want to modify and in that method you can get a rowid which you can save in another hidden field and in server side you can get all rows whose ids are stored in hidden field.
If you have whole row editable in that case the best approach I think you should save the original data source somewhere and also set a javascript method with rowclick event to get rowid which user selects. Then when user clicks on submit button get all rows whose row ids are stored in hidden field then compare those with same rowid in datasource. This is the best approach from my point of you.
Let me give you an example, suppose there are 1000 rows in a grid and user clicks on only 180 rows. In that case we will compare only 180 rows and wont compare rest of the rows.
Please let me know if somebody has better idea then this.
