So I am pretty new to flex. I am developing an AIR application and I want to change my project theme to one of the additional included themes that is packaged with Flash Builder 4. So, I went to the Project Theme and changed it and it looks like it is supposed to in the Design View. When I run the application, the components (eg: a button) themselves look like it is supposed to, but the application's background is just white instead of the displayed color in the design view. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Does hitting the "refresh" button on the design tab solve the problem?
You might need to update the default background color in your compiler arguments.

In case you need to update your project to use boostrap, then you need to move all the styles you added to a stylesheet file, and call them as needed (that is separate from bootstrap, just to make it more easy when you need to change styles). Besides that, if you want to use Bootstrap, it's simple, just add the boostrap files (styles, JS) and then use them as explained in the Boostrap website. Also, you can customize them as you want, but those components and classes will make the magic to make your website compatible with cross browsing and devices.

Hope that helps!
We're starting a website project and came accross the paid Rio theme.
What we're wondering is how far can we go in customisation without having to touch the theme's CSS, and if buying the layout and theme is worth in our case at all.
Rio is not specifically the only option we want, we just want to be able to do the following:
We'd like to change the look of the website depending on the logged in user.
Theme customisation:
The .ui-panel-titlebar ("Downloads" example in Rio's Dashboard page) seem
to be hardcoded to be purple #5C6BC0. Is there any chance to change
that background by adding or changing a class? The important part is
that we don't change the core CSS files of the theme and preferably
don't create additional CSS classes nor make use of precompiling
frameworks.
Can we edit the logo on top left only to make the menu move slightly to the bottom? I tried with a bigger image through Chrome's
DevTools but the image overlays to the bottom.
Is is a good practice to think this way: We're thinking to have a WebpageThemeController with methods that would return the correct
class strings depending on the user, to put in the different parts of
the website.
Is considering Primefaces' layout+themes good in this case? If not, how should we proceed?
Thanks
Next version of RİO will have less integration to easily customize colors, fonts ...
You can even use multiple layouts per user by the way, here is a tutorial;

Hi I am using the Three20 SDK to create a gallery and it's all working great. I basically want to extend this so that when you see a large image there is an additional button on the bottom bar (by the > keys) so you can view some text about the image - I guess this is in principal the same as on the Facebook app where you can click the comments button and the photo flips over to reveal the comments.
Ideally a tutorial on this would be amazing but I guess that probably doesn't exist so I wanted to know the best way to do this was? Should I be adding new files into the Three20 directory to add this additional functionality? Or can I do it just in the one project where I need it?
Sorry to be vague, I'm a bit new to all this!
Generally, you shouldn't modify the three20 source code, unless it's a patch you're planning on submitting back to the three20 project.
If you need different behavior from TTPhotoViewController, you can subclass it and override any functions which doesn't fit your needs.
In your case, if you want to add a button to the toolbar, you should probably override (void)loadView, and replace the _toolbar with your own UIToolbar
Also, if you're only using the photo viewer from the entire three20 library, you will probably better off with a light weight solution, such as https://github.com/kirbyt/KTPhotoBrowser
I would like to move modules via drag and drop as an admin. It would have to trigger those same "Move to X Pane" links? I saw this link that shows dragging and dropping modules as an admin for layout, but could not get it to work.
Am I missing something or is there an extension for this? I am trying this on the latest DNN 6.0 by the way. Thanks for any help.
Wow, that guided tour is super old. I believe it was DNN 5 where that behavior was changed to only work in layout mode. Once you switch into layout mode, you should be able to see the panes and drag the modules between them (by their titles).
I am making a top menu, and it looks like this:
http://i.stack.imgur.com/5O5G5.png
The contact tab will remain in its place and the home tab has to be first.
IF the user wants to add another tab, they can in the cms editior (DNN) they would just create the link and wrap the div tag about the link etc..
im stuck to how i can get the css to add the menu tab and push the home tab to the left as the menu grows?
If sounds like you are trying to manually build the menu using HTML. What you need to do is ensure that you have the DNN navigation control as part of your skin and it will handle adding the menu items for you. You'll be able to modify the menu to look however you like using CSS.
The best way to learn DNN skinning is to look at one of the existing skins (found in /Portals/_default/skins/) and then copy one of the skins and start making changes to change it to your desired look.
The DNN skinning architecture is very well done and easy to pick up for anyone who knows ASP.NET (though it is different from Master Pages). The hardest part is picking and learning to work with the various navigation providers. Most people work with DNNMenu which is more complicated than it needs to be on the CSS Side. The DDR Menu which will be the default provider for DNN 6+ should be easier to work with. But the documentation for it isn't complete yet so it takes some learning to get started with it.
