I am a newbie to Drupal, hope somebody can answer my query.
I think I am facing a weird problem in views..I have a content type of say Company and have around 3-4 pages added to it. The sequence is as
1. Company - default page
2. View company
3. Search company
4. New page
The problem is when I go and add a Filter to the Search company page then that filter get shared with the default page and new page but doesn't get shared with the view company page, I am not sure what is causing this as I want that filter to be applicable for the search page and do not get shared across other pages.
is there a setting where I can restrict this filter getting shared ?

If you want to set a filter only for one display, you have to, on the configuration of that display :
specify that the filters should "override" the default ones
specific the specific filters you want on that display.
See What are overrides? for a little longer description.
Basically, on the configuration of the "Search company" display, when you are trying to configure filters, you should choose "override" before specifying your filters.

I have a WordPress website and as part of the news items, the editor can add either an:
internal link OR
external link OR
file
Currently I have this set up as a repeater field with maximum rows set to 1.
Is it possible if say one value has been entered, to prevent another of the values from being filled in.
E.g. I add an internal link and then try to add an external link. A message of some sort is then shown to me to say that only one value can be selected at a time.
I know I can add a description to the field with this information but I want to make it idiot proof so that the user can never add more than one value.

I'm working on some drupal installation and googled the whole day, but I can't figure out an answer to the following question:
How is it possible to alter the admin/content page in a way that specific roles are only able to see or filter out limited content types?
Please notice that I don't want to restrict node access in general, I just want to make this page less confusing for editors with different roles and tasks.
I know there is the administration views module and there I can set filter fields in the way I want. The problem with this is that I'm not able to enter the views access restrictions and so all I can do is limit the view's content types for all roles.
Can somebody give me a hint how to solve this?

One way would be to make a custom module.
In this module you would create a page with hook_menu().

Then in the page callback function that you create you load global $user and switch between the $user->roles, out putting different HTML lists of links depending on their role. If you want something a little more dynamic you can always load the various content types with node_type_get_types().
Then go into structure -> menus -> navigation and disable the default link, replacing it with the new page you created.
If you aren't 100% clear on how to do a couple of these things comment here and I will update my answer.
Is it possible to elegantly do this? The idea is, a node of content type "project" has a lot of fields, its url is something like node/5. I want to show some of the fields on that page, and others on node/5/extra, kind of an "extended" page that the user only loads if he is interested in that content (lots of images, in my case, that would slow down the main node page considerably).
I tried the Display suite module, unsuccessfully (it seems it's not really meant for doing what I want). I also saw this blog post, which explains how to add a custom display mode to a content type (other than the Default and Teaser ones that come by default), but I can't get it to work the way I want to either.
I guess you could create a view having the node ID as a default argument from URL. Then you can choose which fields to show or hide
I need a help displaying a specific View result in a page which the user created it.

I have already made a view called User_Store_View, I added a Page Display and on Page Settings:Path, the value was "node/%".. now I guess my problem is on the Arguments?
The path should be something like my-store and it should have an argument of user id. Given your requirements I think setting the default behaviour for the argument being invalid or not being supplied to an empty result set would be the most sensible(I think the default is show all). That may be all you really need.
However, if your product is a type that you've created yourself you will need to do some behind the scenes wiring to expose all your fields to Views; it's almost always better to build a content type using CCK so it's already hooked up to Views. And D7 is a different beast in this regard, with fields part of core and whatnot, so I can't help you out there.
I am new to drupal, so sorry for this noob question, but I was wondering how to display articles only in the central column. Currently there are also blog entries, etc and I would like to get rid of them. I have a Views plugin installed but I am not sure how to do this.
In your View create a filter for Node: Type. Here, you can tell it specifically what kind of content to show.
you can change your frontpage settings in admin/settings/site-information
so let's say you created a view - with a page display
set the page url of your view (eg. articles), and then in your settings (the path i mentioned before) you set the drupal frontpage to the page path of your view (that would be 'articles')
