I am really green to this and came across this site by googling the subject. I am looking to create my own rss reader. I am wondering what language would be best to create a custom rss reader in the same lines as Google reader? I wonder what language do they use. Any and all help or direction pointing or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
You need to be more specific
I have not used google reader but you can make an rss reader in any language, choose which best suits you.

Is there a way to translate English contents to another language automatically?
I'm using Wordpress for my CMS right now and I'm trying to translate RSS feeds which I fetch from other online journals. It is really easy to fetch RSS feeds and put into Wordpress 'cause there is a built-in feature. However, I have no idea how to translate that into my language automatically.
I'm no expert but can modify WP theme codes a little so I'm trying to find a way how to do it. Also, I know there are lots of plugins but I want to make my own this time. Is there a way of using Google Translate automatically while fetching RSS feeds? I would greatly appreciate it for any feedbacks.
I Hope you can understand my difficulty in finding a really good tutorial video for WordPress. Not sure why, but I'm having a hard time finding some basic stuff in WordPress; like how to create a custom template using CSS. I know CSS, and Html just fine. But instead of just googling every little thing I come across ( i would not follow the trend of asking for help for every little detail) I am looking for a complete and quality video tutorial in WordPress, not just for myself, but for my people.
Since beginning training in Java I've learned it's best to learn broader rather than getting hung up on details, which I can research later, and go back to with references. If I understand the whole concept then when I want to do something specific, I at least know where to start looking on my own. With WordPress I don't have a broad view, and that's what I'm aiming for. Please don't just Google search 'Good WordPress Tutorial Video' and post the first decent looking link. I am looking for recommendations through experience. If you know of a good Tutorial Video Series on WordPress please then consider replying. :) Thank you!
WordPress.org not in video but excellent documentation available!
I was just wondering if it's possible somehow (via an addon maybe?) to set the initial focus when the WordPress media library pops up to be the search field?
I have a lot of posts where I need to select images very fast and need to type in the names of the images to find them and this would be exceptionally handy except I've looked on Wordpress.org and a few other places that I know of and can't find a plugin that can do this although someone here might know of one or perhaps a way of doing this?
Many thanks in advance,
Best wishes,
Mark
For anyone interested in a fantastic solution to this a very helpful person showed me how over on Stack Exchange :
https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/265740/can-initial-focus-be-set-to-search-field-in-wordpress-media-library
Sorry if posting here in Stack Overflow was the wrong place as I came across the Stack Exchange site after I'd posted this. Not really sure what the difference between the two places is though?
Best wishes,
Mark
Does anyone know of a simple way to submit my blog feed to flipboard?
It requires things like the entire post in the rss feed.
Whole list here: https://flipboard.com/rss
I already have a feed running through feed burner. Is it possible to have two? One for normal subscribers and one for flipboard? I imagine one for both wouldn't work too well?
Thanks.
Yes there is a way to have a dedicated feed just for Flipboard. They do require an optimized RSS feed which WordPress does not meet the requirements.
I did a quick Google search for a plugin since that would be a simple way to implement what you need and I came across this plugin called Flipboard RSS Feed + Shortcode. I do not have any experience with it though. The dev site can be found here. I would read more in to it and make sure it solves the problem.
If that was what you were looking for go ahead and mark this answered. Let me know how it works if you use it. Looks pretty interesting.
...Yes I've seen:
Best Resources for Learning JavaFX?
but it doesn't really answer the question. Maybe there just aren't any good resources at the moment?
UPDATE:
http://developers.sun.com/rss/javafx.xml is OK
If you have Google Reader you could use their Discover tool to find feeds, e.g. JavaFX feeds.
Technorati has a large selection
Google Blog Search also has some results.
Note that I don't even know what JavaFX is - your best bet, as with any topic, is to use the social search tools out there to find authors who write about your particular topic, and then subscribe to them if you like what you read.
Something I've taken to recently is using Google Alerts and Google Reader (any RSS reader will do) to get reports as they come in of searches for a particular topic. You get access to what people are searching for within a topic and what they eventually decide on. I've discovered a few interesting pages on PHP since I started this, it's a useful tool.
