Dotnet CLI command fails to run DLL - .net-core

This is probably something stupid I'm overlooking, but suddenly the dotnet CLI command fails to run my .Net Core Project DLL (>dotnet MyFrameworkDependent.dll). It runs fine locally but just doesn't do anything on the VM which is Win7Pro. I reinstalled .Net Core and 'dotnet' utility is there as I can run it with -help and other stuff in the admin command prompt. It just wouldn't do anything when I pass my DLL. It used to run with the previous version, but now - nothing! Not even any error or feedback. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this? Any clues are greatly appreciated!

Windows Event viewer may contain either of these errors
1603 == ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE
1618 == ERROR_INSTALL_ALREADY_RUNNING
Cause:
This issue may occur if another program has not completed installing and a system reboot is required.
Resolution:
To resolve this issue, delete the strings, if any, in the PendingFileRenameOperations and FileRenameOperations registry keys.

Turned out there was some kinda problem with directory contents. I was able to run the DLL within the publish directory. I don't have time at the moment to investigate further, but if I get to it, I'll post details.

Why does WebAssembly fail to build on fresh Uno Platform template

Summary:
When I attempt to build and run my Uno WebAssembly on Ubuntu 20.04, it fails. The error cites a file or directory that doesn't exist.
Steps to reproduce:
Open Ubuntu 20.04 platform
Install .NET Core SDK 3.1.403
Follow the "Getting Started on VSCode" tutorial here
When you attempt to start the app with the .NET Core Launch configuration, note that the build fails.
Error Details:

What I've tried
My knowledge of Uno Platform is approximately 1 day old. I'm not sure I understand enough about it to even know what to try, but I have done these things:
Run dotnet run from within the uapp.Skia.Gtk, which successfully opened the window I expected to see.
Run dotnet run from within uapp.Wasm, which resulted in the error described above.
Look on the documentation for clues on why the file might not be found on a fresh template that's not been modified (I could not find anything)
Question:
What should I be doing differently to get the Web Assembly to build and display the app correctly?
EDIT: The file in the error does exist, precisely in the path in the error.
You're hitting an error that may happen when building with some native components, like SQLite or Skia.
To fix this, you'll need to execute the dotnet-setup.sh installation script which is not yet run automatically.
This script installs .NET Core, mono and ninja, on ubuntu-alike systems.

iOS Xcode 10 How to fix broken "New build system" - build.db: database is locked Possibly there are two concurrent builds

I'm having problem with the infamous:
"/Users/n/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/Build/Intermediates/XCBuildData/build.db":
database is locked Possibly there are two concurrent builds running in
the same filesystem location
How do I fix broken "modern" build system getting stuck with a locked database?
I tried:
Cleaning the project
Deleting derived data
Updating cocoapods (sudo gem...) and pod install
Full nuking of Xcode folder with a fresh reinstall from App Store
Now I'm with a fresh Xcode installation, the project worked for a dozen builds(real device and simulator) and the problem comes back, making me unable to work on a project. How I can reset the locks on build.db or delete it?
I see this question asked multiple times, and the answers do not solve my problem. I'm not using build scripts, all I have is a couple cocoapods. Please do not close this question, as I'm asking specifically about lack of:
NO CUSTOM SCRIPTS
NO CONSOLE BUILDS
NO COMPOSITE TARGETS

Xcode 10: unable to attach DB error
I encountered this when tinkering with cli, swift run democli. The error I got was:
unable to attach DB: error: accessing build database "/Users/xman/Desktop/democli/.build/x86_64-apple-macosx/build.db": database is locked Possibly there are two concurrent builds running in the same filesystem location.
I just remove the build.db, and the DB error is gone.
So far the only way to fix this is to turn the "Legacy Build system" on in File > Workspace settings. After certain number of computer restarts (or time elapsed?) the setting can be changed to the "new" build system again and it will build.
I managed to compile my project by adding to the xcodebuild command line:
OBJROOT="${OBJROOT}/DependentBuilds"

I encountered the same issue while using Fastlane and the New Build System.
After switching from xcodebuild( ) to build_app( ), the issue was resolved.
The legacy build solution is too temporary. You can only use that from within XCode. You can't use it within VSCode, so you lose the Hot Reload sweetness.

Building an installer project in VS2017 causes "Configuring VS2013" message"

Just recently uninstalled VS2017 RC and installed VS2017 RTM.
We have a Windows Service solution which includes a Setup project.
When I build this in Visual Studio 2017, somehow it's triggering something in the installer for Visual Studio 2013 (which we're still using), as I get this popup appearing:
It's fairly reproducible, but I have no idea where to start with this one.
Any ideas how to stop it happening?
It didn't happen before with the release candidate.

So, several VS2017 updates later, this problem had got a lot worse, as it was stopping me building the setup project completely. Previously I was able to click cancel as in my first screenshot, but at VS2017 v15.3.3, it wouldn't cancel, and if I let it run, it hung at:
So this forced my hand somewhat. I've accepted #PhilDW's answer as he led me straight to the main clue, but I'll also add an answer of my own with more detail.
As in PhilDW's answer, I checked the event log, and found this:

We are consistently seeing this issue caused by a missing directory,
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\URTInstall_GAC (or
%SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\URTInstall_GAC).
To work around this issue,
Open an elevated command prompt.
Type: mkdir %SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\URTInstall_GAC
Note that the folder name isn't the same as in my case. I didn't notice this initially, and creating the folder didn't cure the problem.
However when I created the actuall folder referenced by the event log message, the problem went away, and I can now build my setup project without messages about VS2013.
It's a repair of Visual Studio 2013 because Windows thinks the install is broken (registry entries or files not as in the original VS 2013 install). If you look in the Windows Event log, Application, there should be some MsiInstaller log entries that tell you the product (by ProductCode guid) and the broken component (by component guid and file or registry name). This might help identify what's going on, but not necessarily have a clue to a fix. If it's a setup project it might be a conflict with mergemodule Dlls or prerequisites, some of which come from the current SDK.
You don't say if you're letting the repair complete, in the case that it's just an isolated occurrence.

Qt program does not run and exits immediately when run on another computer

I want to deploy my QT program and I can't find the reason it doesn't work, maybe you guys can help me ?
I work with visual studio 2010, windows 7, QT 5.0.2.
I have tested my deployment tree on my own computer and it works fine.
When deploying my application I ship every necessary dll that I am aware of. Depends.exe does not complain. I also deployed the plugin I know of, and since it still did not work I moved my entire plugin folder in the exe folder.
When I execute it on any other computer than my development computer, the program exits instantaneously with no message whatsoever.
Any idea where I should look now ?

Did you try deploying the debug version of the program and then starting it from the command line. The debug version will output more information to the console which could help you resolve the issue.
You will have to also deploy the debug versions of the MS c-runtime libraries.
Deploying the debug version is not a permanent solution, so you should not adopt that as normal routine for distributing your software. I am just suggesting that you try running the debug version one time on that particular machine until you figure out the issue. Then remove the installed program and install the release version again.
You can run your application using QtCreator:
Debug > Start Debugging > Start and Debug External Application...
This can give you more information about what's going on.

Error MSB3025: using CruiseControl.net - Builds fine from command prompt

I'm hoping someone has seen this error before. I'm using MSBuild with CruiseControl.Net to run the build for this project. When i run the build from the command prompt it actually builds without errors, but when i run it with CruiseControl.net i get the following error:
error MSB3025: The source file "C:\PE\PE-DEV\UIProjects\FolderName\" is actually a directory. The "Copy" task does not support copying directories.

This task works fine in other projects... If i use command prompt and run msbuild it works fine as well.
If it works when you run it from the command prompt (runs using your user account and permissions) and fails when running under CC (runs under whatever service account cc is running) it might be a permission issue. Try changing the account that cc.net runs under to your own account and see what happens.
This one was a tricky one, i was able to make the project work. The issue was the deploy build xml file had a typo somewhere and i was able to find the bug and fix it and now the project is building as it should.
