I recently updated rhel7.4 to rhel7.5 and now it's stuck on boot up. How can I fix this booting up error?
A start job running for read and set NIS domainname from /etc/sysconfig/network (10 hour/ No limit).
Note: I don't have NIS enable (I'm using winbind for auth).

Artifactory service fails to start upon Fedora 35 reboot

I have installed on Fedora 35 jfrog-artifactory-oss (v7.31.11-73111900.x86_64) and enabled it as a system service to start at boot. But whenever I boot up my OS, the server never starts properly. I will always need to kill the PID of the active running Artifactory process. If I then do sudo service artifactory restart it will bring up the server cleanly and everything is good. How can I avoid having to do this little dance? Is there something about OS boot up that is causing Artifactory to get thrown off?
I have looked at console.log when the server is not running properly after bootup, I see some logs like:

That shows that the server is not running properly, but doesn't give a clear idea of what to try next. Any suggestions?
2 things to check,
How is the artifactory.service file in the systemd directory
Whenever the OS is rebooted, what is the error seen in the logs, check all the logs.
Hint: From the warning shared, it seems that Router service is not able to start when OS is rebooted, so whenever OS is rebooted and issue comes up check the router-service.log for any errors/warnings.

Cannot start h2o

As the title says. I cannot run h20.init.
I have already downloaded the 64 bit version of the Java SE Development Kit 8u291. I also downloaded the xgboost library in R (install.packages("xgboost") ). Finally, I have updated all my NVIDIA drivers and downloaded the latest CUDA (although, tbh I don't even know what that does). I followed the steps described in the NVIDIA forums to avoid the crash I had when installing (i.e. remove integration with visual studio). FWIW I'm using a DELL Inspiron 15 Gaming and it has a NVIDIA GTX 1050 with 4GB.
Here's the full code I'm using (straight from the h2o download instructions except for the first line):

Cloud formation behavior:
New H2O nodes join together to form a cloud at startup time.

So... after a lot of poking around I found the answer. Windows Defender ughhh was blocking access to the h2o.jar. The solution was to open PowerShell on the h2o java folder and run the h2o.jar using java -jar h2o.jar. Then you'll get the security prompt asking you to authorize the program (I've had to do it every time, so you might want to check your settings). Once you do that h2o.init() runs very smoothly in R.

Hiveserver2: could not start ThriftHttpCliService

I'm attempting to enable SSL on hiveserver2.
I can run in the default binary mode fine. http mode works no problem. As soon as I enable SSL through hive-site.xml, i'm faced with the following error.
ERROR [Thread-28] thrift.ThriftCLIService: Error starting HiveServer2: could not start ThriftHttpCLIService
java.net.BindException: Address already in use
There is nothing using any of the ports, prior to starting hiveserver2. Checked with netstat -tupln
Ports i've configured in hive-site.xml are
hive.server2.webui.port 11002
hive.server2.thrift.http.port 11001
hive.server2.thrift.port 11000
and invoking hiveserver2 via the service /opt/hive/bin/hive --service hiveserver2 &
O/S ubuntu (on kubernetes)
Hive version 3.0.0
Any help greatly appreciate. Google search for problems with ThriftHTTPCliService came up short.
For anyone that come across this post.
I upgraded to Hive 3.1.0, along with the metastore schema.
This fixed the issue, although unsure as to the underlying cause.

Most likely you are running out of allowed number of user processes. We have encountered the same issue on our CentOs servers and setting ulimit -u 10240 helped.

OpenLDAP on Windows 7 not starting due to unclean shutdown detected

OpenLDAP was running and the laptop and since the battery power of the laptop did not last and the WIndows 7 OS shutdown. After restating WIndows 7 OS, tried to start OpenLDAP and get following error.
Tried to see if there is any lock or any kind of information on the internet / google search but none of them gave a good response.

Delete alock file
Just solved my own problem with exact same error log.
Go to your LDAP installed directory /var/openldap-data
there should be a file named alock . Delete this file . Start your LDAP.

select the dos window in which it is running and type CTRL-C, the server will stop and you will be offered a prompt Terminate Batch Job?, typing y to this prompt will close the window.
If this procedure is not followed (for example you closed your PC

subsequently refuse to start. If this is the case navigate to the
directory c:\openldap\var\run and delete any files in this directory
(slapd.args and slapd.pid). The server should now restart. Failing
this look at the log file (default in \var\log).
