I'm pretty new to kibana and I kind of understood that "query" and "filter" do the same work. There is some difference in the way that cache handles them.
I'm trying to search for all the results that have type "clicks".
If I do it by using "filtering", it works good. All the results I get have type "clicks". However, if I cancel the option for filtering and write "query: clicks" in the query field, it seems that Kibana ignores my request and basically shows me all the results that passed the "filtering".
I don't know if you've taken a look at the explanation of how queries are handled
https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/3.0/queries.html
Maybe the clicks has to be in quotation marks? I am using kibana 5+ so I am not familiar with this feature.

Tokenize2 is a javacsript lib to select multiple options.
It provides a very neat UI to start writing and then get a list of options to select from. Selected options will show up as "tags" that can be removed with "x" link.
So far all is fine. But Right now you need to know what your looking for and start write at least one character to see matching alternatives.
In my scenario there are very few alternatives and they are not known to the user. I would like to show ALL options when the user clicks the input box. There is a configuration option named searchMinLength but it is already set to 0.
Is there a workaround that can be used? Maybe like triggering load and dropdown manually?
I know there are a lot of similar alternatives but I picked Tokenize2 because:
It looks clean and nice
It works in mobile browsers
I don't know if there is an "official" approach, but after some investigation I have found an acceptable workaround.
After downloading the Tokenizer2 sourceode I found the following line that triggered my attention:
if(this.input.val().length > 0){
this.trigger('tokenize:search', [this.input.val()]);
}
My interpretation is that the internal search command is not triggered unless the user input has at least one character. This line in sourcecode could easily be modified. I have filed a suggestion for this here: https://github.com/zellerda/Tokenize2/issues/26
My current workaround is to add an event listener for the select event and there trigger the internal search command. That works fine for my scenario and does not force a source code rewrite.
$("#my-dropdown").on("tokenize:select", function (e: Event, routedEvent: boolean) {
$("#my-dropdown").trigger('tokenize:search', "");
});
Tokenize2
This link worked for me GitHub
$('.tokenize-sample-demo1').on('tokenize:select', function(container){
$(this).tokenize2().trigger('tokenize:search', [$(this).tokenize2().input.val()]);
});
I want to get event entries by their description (data).
I know how to get the event entry with a certain description, however I want to get an entry whith a description which contains a string (not equals to it).
That, I don't know how to do.
Please help :)
According to my answer here: https://stackoverflow.com/a/34119006/5089204 you should be able to retrieve EventRecords.
Dealing with these events is a quite complex issue... Each event has its own internal structure. The common properties are bundled in EventRecord, but the specific data must be taken from the internal details. Use the ToXml() method of an EventRecord...
In order to get the right events you must define an EventLogQuery. You must know the Provider's name and specify the filter.
Try the following: Open eventvwr and there the Windows-System queue. Right click one event, open the "Details" and choose the "XML-View". Look over different events and you will find, that they are quite differing.
But: You'll find everything you need there: First the "Provider Name" and the "EventId", these two are most important for the `EventLogQuery'.
Now go to the "define a user filter on the current protocoll"-action and type in some values. Then switch to the filter's XML and you'll learn how to define the correct query.
I'm sorry, there is no "easy and general" approach :-)
I have a filter I want to apply to my google analytics chart embedded in my site. I want to filter ga:pagePathLevel2 to be one of a list of numbers;
Ideally I want it to be something like
'filters' : 'ga:pagePathLevel2==/6|/7|/8',
but that doesnt work, My authorization button doesnt show up after that so apparently something doesn't work
You can use a the =~ syntax to set a regular expression filter if you want to match a URL part in several possible forms.
If your case, you could do something like:
'filters': 'ga:pagePathLevel2=~^/(6|7|8)'
On an unrelated note: if your auth button isn't showing up at all, it's almost certainly because you have a syntax error and has nothing to do with the filter syntax. If you open up the developer console, you should see the error being logged.
I am trying to use 'the' as the article for my object, but FB is simply ignoring it and is using 'a' instead.
When I run the object's url in FB's debugger I see all the info that's necessary. All the other properties are being used just fine.
Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Object types cannot use "the", only "a/an". So if your determiner isn't showing when not using the object's title, that's why.
I have a Drupal 7 website that is running apachesolr search and is using faceting through the facetapi module.
When I use the facets to narrow my searches, everything works perfectly and I can see the filters being added to the search URL, so I can copy them as links (ready-made narrowed searches) elsewhere on the site.
Here is an example of how the apachesolr URL looks after I select several facets/filters:
search_url/search_keyword?f[0]=im_field_tag_term1%3A1&f[1]=im_field_tag_term2%3A100
Where the 'search_keyword' portion is the text I'm searching for and the '%3A' is just the url encoded ':' (colon).
Knowing this format, I can create any number of ready-made searches by creating the correct format for the URL. Perfect!
However, these filters are always ANDed, the same way they are when using the facet interface. Does anyone know if there is a syntax I can use, specifically in the search URL, to OR my filters/facets? Meaning, to make it such that the result is all entries that contains EITHER of the two filters?
Thanks in advance for any help or pointers in the right direction!
New edit:
I do know how to OR terms within the same vocabulary through the URL, I'm just wondering how to do it for terms in different vocabularies. ;-)
You can write a filter query that looks like:
fq=field1:value1 OR field2:value2
Alternatively you can use localparams to specify the query operator:
fq={!q.op=OR}field1:value1 field2:value2
As far as I know, there's not any easier way to do this. There is, in fact, an rather old bug asking for a way to OR the fq parameters...
I finally found a way to do this in Drupal
Enable the fq parameter setting.
Go to admin/config/search/apachesolr/[your_search_page]/core_search/edit or just navigate to the settings of the search page you're trying to modify
Check the 'Allow user input using the URL' setting
URL Syntax
Add the following at the end of the URL: ?fq=tid:(16 OR 38), where 16 and 38 are the term ids
