how to resolve Appium bad parameters error - automated-tests

I am stuck at the error when the appium server shows error
[MJSONWP] Bad parameters: BadParametersError: Parameters were incorrect. We wanted {"required":["desiredCapabilities"],"optional":["requiredCapabilities","capabilities","sessionId","id"]} and you sent ["desiredCapabilities","requiredCapabilities","capabilities","alwaysMatch","firstMatch"]
In the eclipse it shows error
org.openqa.selenium.SessionNotCreatedException: Unable to create new remote session. desired capabilities = Capabilities [{app=C:\Users\Admin\workspace\Sling_App\src\app-dev-debug.apk}], required capabilities = Capabilities [{}]
I have been using 5.0.0 and also 4.1.2 client jar
Tried with Selenium 3 , 3.3
Appium Server I tried on are 1.6.2 , 1.6.3 and latest 1.6.4
Nothing Solves the problem ,
I read most of the articles related to this , but of no use
Please tell if any 1 has found solution to thisenter image description here

In ideal case we need to pass 6 capabilities(for APK testing) as below,
DesiredCapabilities capabilities = new DesiredCapabilities();
capabilities.setCapability("deviceName","ANDROID");
capabilities.setCapability("platformVersion", "5.1");
capabilities.setCapability("platformName",Constant.appPlatform);
capabilities.setCapability("app", app.getAbsolutePath());
capabilities.setCapability("appPackage", Constant.appPackage);
capabilities.setCapability("appActivity",Constant.appActivity);
Also initiate appium webdriver instead of Android as below,
AppiumDriver driver = new AndroidDriver(new URL("http://127.0.0.1:4727/wd/hub"), capabilities);
I am using appium 1.6.4 and java client 4.12 with selenium stand alone 2.53.1.
AppPackage/AppActivity are required for simulator also.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks.

Telepresence Connection Error - Traffic Manager version unsupported, must be 2.4.5 or higher while it is 2.6.5

I have started to face this problem. While trying to connect, I am facing an error stating that my traffic-manager version is 2.1.5 and it should be at least 2.4.5.
"telepresence connect" command checks for new versions and modifies it if there is any new version exists. So I am thinking that started to create a problem. Because I was using it as normal.
When I check the connector.log file these two lines create the problem.
connector/session : Existing Traffic Manager 2.6.5 not owned by cli or does not need upgrade, will not modify
connector/session : failed to connect to root daemon: rpc error: code = Unknown desc = unsupported traffic-manager version 2.1.5. Minimum supported version is 2.4.5
So somehow I have two versions now while checking for the update it hits 2.6.5 but while trying to run it tries with 2.1.5. Trying to uninstall telepresence but it also faces the same problem and I couldn't locate and delete traffic-manager 2.1.5. My OS is Windows 11.
Because of that, I am kind of blocked with my tests. Any help will be well appreciated. Thanks!
After asking the question, a new version arrived, if anyone encountered this problem, please update telepresence to 2.6.6. It is fixed now.

'Building' has encountered a problem. An internal error occurred during. "Building"

I tried to create a Robot project , but I am getting this error : An internal error occurred during: "Building".
Unable to communicate with XML-RPC server
I tried some solution , but didn't work , and now when I press OK , I can't access to the libraries and the files inside the projects...enter image description here
My installation is:
Eclipse 2021-06 (4.20.0)
RED - Robot Editor 0.9.5.202007241017
Robot Framework 5.0 (Python 3.10.4 )
You need to check comparability of RED Editor and the Robot Framework. I think, RED doesn't support latest RF version. Check more: http://nokia.github.io/RED/help/whats_new/0_9_5.html
Also, check the URL that eclipse trying to communicate inside Help>>Available Software to update/install new software.
you need to downgrade the Robotframework to version 3 and lower, you can do that using that command
pip install robotframework==3.1.1 <version>

7: [unixODBC][DataDirect][ODBC 20101 driver]6015 error

For our application we have planned to use the Progress Data Direct ODBC driver for oracle. So i have downloaded the EVAL version and installed it. Our application servers are running in the Linux environment.
After installing the EVAL version i have tested the sample code provided by them. I have configured the ODBC.INI and ODBCINST.INI properly.
Tested the DSN connection successfully with the sample program provided by DataDirect Progress.
Then i started using the same for my application Lib LD path set properly ODBC , ODBCINST variables are properly set.
when i try to bring up my servers i got the below error message
7: [unixODBC][DataDirect][ODBC 20101 driver]6015
In this message i'm not getting the message description , only i got the error code which is 6015
How to get the error message for this code 6015 ?
Any help on this?
Due to the older version of driver got the error , so installed newer version and it got resolved.

inconsistent behavior in RSelenium

On Linux, the RSelenium/Selenium seems to be behaving erratically. I start the server manually and it seems to start up fine. Sometimes I am able to connect to it from my R session and other times I get an error. I cannot yet pinpoint the cause: the same script seems to work sometimes and not other times. Any ideas?
Here is the output from starting the server:

Please ensure a Selenium server is running.Error in queryRD(paste0(serverURL, "/session"), "POST", qdata = toJSON(serverOpts))
Other times, running the exact same script everything proceeds successfully. It could be a difference of what computer node actually executes the script but I cannot tell what the problem is when it will not connect.

# running selenium
system("java -jar selenium-server-standalone-2.44.0.jar")
I faced same issue and try to run above code. Finally know that there only support 1.7 but not 1.8 as time being. You might try to download jre7 and jdk7.
I faced the same error in Mac, but I noticed that due to security settings the system does not let me to run the file with that piece of code. I downloaded the selenium standalone file and using control key I single-clicked the file and then from the menu I chose the open. Then the problem get solved.

LLVM ERROR: Cannot yet select: error

Hello i am getting the following error when I am running my app in the simulator.
LLVM ERROR: Cannot yet select: ...
It seems that other have reported similar issues for the same combo:
* New sandy bridge MBP
* Iphone 4.3 Simulator
* opengl
Anyone have some clue?
Here is a short excerpt from the log:

I'm getting this same error. I just got the new sandy bridge MBP today, and on my previous computer, I do not have this problem.
Changing the target to iPad 4.2 instead of iPad 4.3 resolves the issue.
Here's how to change the target in the new version of Xcode:
http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/IDEs/Conceptual/Xcode4TransitionGuide/Orientation/Orientation.html
I had the same Error on my MacBook Pro Intel Core i7 in the 4.3 simulator. I updated to Xcode 4.0.2 and now its working again.
This means that LLVM cannot do the instruction selection for some code. Usually this happens when you request some target-specific stuff in the code and disable the features via cmdline.
For example, if you'll use sse2 gcc intrinsics, but will compile for, say, i486, the same sort of message might occur (if not caught earlier by a frontend).
It's hard to say anything more definite without the full error line.
I had the same situation. It looks like a bug of LLVM 2.8 for the new sandy bridge. The work around is to use 4.2 simulator as NoEvilPeople said.
OpenGL apps exit in 4.3 Sim but work...
MacRuby build issues with LLVM
Attempt to force LLVM to treat sandy bridge as core2
In case this helps anyone, I was having the same problem too, but don't have the older SDK for the other fix here. Kazuki posted a link to a discussion over at Apple, and it looks like its a bug that a few people have reported, but that it has something to do with the simulator. That being said, the app I was having a problem with runs fine on-device for me, so that's another potential workaround while this is looked at more.
