Ok, first thing first, I am not Drupal expert. I was tasked to backup and migrate Drupal site from one hosting to the other. I have done exactly that, everything works, but problem is that every internal link opens in new tab suddenly? What could be the cause of that? Thank you, I have googled around for this issue but came empty handed.

Firstly I know very little about most of this. I have looked for answers, but must not be asking the correct questions.
I wanted to redevelop a WordPress site that I have and to do so, installed MAMP in order to do this locally, and allow the current site to remain live. That all went surprisingly well. Until I had to reboot the machine and I encountered the seeming ubiquitous MySql Server Won't Start problem Much research was done and I found (on this site, which is why I am asking this here) the answer to that was removing two particular files.
Then it all went down hill and my site is FUBAR. The database is gone, but I have all the content.
My question is, can I resurrect the site with that data and not have to start. from. scratch.
Cheers
Craig
I have the same problem on different WordPress based websites.
I developed some of them, while others are made by someone else.
They don't have that much in common: completely different websites, different themes/plugins and so on.
Recently in these websites, I've been experiencing this problem: WordPress is caching the backend in a really tough way and, after saving any edits, I have to force a refresh with ctrl+f5 to actually see the edits I made before.
After some digging I can assure that:
it doesn't seem to depend on the webserver (same problem on nginx and on apache)
it doesn't depend on varnish or wp caching plugins (it happens also on website without any cache solutions)
it happens just in some new wp releases, I'm not experiencing this problem on older websites
it doesn't depend on my pc/browser configuration because my colleagues are experiencing the exact same problem on their pc
Anyone who had the same problem and was able to find a solution?
EDIT: It actually happened also on a fresh WordPress installation. Once I created a page, I went back to the page list by clicking on the menu item and I couldn't see the page in the list. After forcing a page refresh the newly created page was there as it was supposed to be before.
this is I think a really unusual case. A little backstory, I outsourced a PSD to WP project a few months ago, but not currently working with the developer anymore as he stopped replying to my support questions. I'm trying to solve this on my own before I give this to the client, as I have no more budget to hire another developer.
I have two problems, first is I couldn't access the WP dashboard even though my login is an admin account. Been trying to solve this through numerous google searches and blog posts but to no avail, I couldn't fix it.
Here goes my main problem: So I finally found a way how to update the content on the site using the phpMyAdmin backend database. (good thing I know HTML CSS)
I managed to update the content, but when I tested the site using incognito window and other profiles / browsers, the changes from phpMyAdmin does not reflect on the site. I tried logging in, and weirdly, the changes are there. I log out, changes are there.
I just find it really weird and a hassle that I have to log in to see those changes. It's a client facing site, and the changes are really important so I hope someone has experienced this before and can help me out. Thanks in advance.
I have set up a second wordpress web app in Microsoft Azure however when i go to the url no wordpress install wizard is appearing. Not sure if this is because i am on a free account that can be used by students or if i have done something wrong? My first web app is still working. Thanks for any help.
It shouldn't have to do with anything about being a student. There is a free tier, and you can make multiple free tiered sites.
You didn't say what appears when you go to the URL though, so it could be any number of errors. Here is a checklist of what I'd go through:
Make sure you are going to the correct new URL
Can you FTP into the new web app, and verify there is WordPress code there? If not, something weird happened in the set up process! Delete the web app and try again, or simply upload WordPress yourself! Can get the files from WordPress.org and upload yourself using FTP
If WordPress code is there... What appears when you go to the URL? If it's an error message, something might have messed up in the install. You can always delete it and remake it to start again. Without knowing the error message, I can't really give more specific advice.
As a side note, did you create a new ClearDB MySQL database? Can you confirm there is a second database on your ClearDB account? If not, that could easily be the problem.
Sorry to give vague answers, but without more specifics to go on not many more details I can give. Except confirm that yes, you should be able to make multiple WordPress sites, so either something has gone wrong or you did something wrong.
I am trying to work on Wordpress website that hasn't been updated in quite some time. All the sudden there are some weird issues:
• The footer is not linking
• The contact forms are no longer linking
• Half the layout is missing on some pages
Nothing has been changed on this site. No plugins have been updated... nothing.
I've been looking through the coding, and I can't seem to find what's going wrong or why the contact forms have stopped working.
The website is Marshcreek.com
Please help!
If you have a backup, run a file comparison between the current copy and the backup. My files have been purged in the past through unfortunate maintenance routines.
I would recommend speaking with your Host and ask them if they have upgraded / changed anything on the server?
I have however noticed the following, the first image is the HTML from the index
And this is the HTML from the Memberships page?
at the bottom there is 4 <div style="clear:both"></div>? Is this how it should be because this may explain where the footer has gone in this example!
Also if you have any backups of the site you may wish to take a look at them as they may help recover some of the structure
