I have a Flash-Builder Flex project that was created (or upgraded) using FB 4.7.
I am using Flash-Builder 4, and the IDE doesn't recognize the project as a Flex project, so I can't import it into the IDE.
What are my options here? Is there a quick way of downgrading the project to a FB4 project?
1- SOLUTION 1 : verify your ".project" file: check if the project description is ok
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<projectDescription>
<name>MyProjectName</name>
<comment></comment>
<projects>
</projects>
<buildSpec>
<buildCommand>
<name>com.adobe.flexbuilder.project.flexbuilder</name>
<arguments>
</arguments>
</buildCommand>
</buildSpec>
<natures>
<nature>com.adobe.flexbuilder.project.flexnature</nature>
<nature>com.adobe.flexbuilder.project.actionscriptnature</nature>
</natures>
</projectDescription>
2- SOLUTION 2 : put your project into your workspace and create a new project with the same name of your project folder name (for exp: if your project folder name "myproject" - create a new flex project with name "myproject"),
this will create a new flex project with your old source code.

I wanted to step inside/debugging the web-api 2 (version 5.2.3) code source to understand it.
I've created a simple web api application, and in the WebApi.config, i've setted a break point at this line :
config.Routes.MapHttpRoute(
name: "ExcludedRoute",
routeTemplate: "api/{controller}/{action}",
defaults: new { id = RouteParameter.Optional },
constraints: new { Controller = "healthcheck", action = "check" }
);
I could step inside the MapHttpRoute method and the other classes, but the debugger couldn't step inside the Route class from the System.Web dll, below the image:
I tried to use this symbol file locations:
I've also used the dotpeek tool for generating the pdb files from the bin folder, by setting to true the "copy local" feature of the referenced assemblies, but with no success. The path of system.web dll is
C:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework.NETFramework\v4.5\System.Web.dll
I'm wondering Why the debugger couldn't step inside the Route class wich belongs to the system.Web dll, its version is 4.0 and the version of web.api is the 5.2.3.
In my searching, i've downloaded the code source of the asp.net and i found that the project System.Web.Http.WebHost which contains the HttpWebRoute class.
Any idea?
Thanks!
Assembly System.Web.pdb was in the .NET Framework source code. You need to configure Visual Studio for debugging .NET framework in the Tools -> Options -> Debugging -> General menu.

I am getting this error when trying to build an AdobeAir project.
I have an extension.xml file with this line:
<extension xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/extension/4.0">
I tried to change it to 23.0 in the end, but it didn't help.
The error appeared after upgrading Air SDK from version 18 to 23.
The target Flash Player version 11.1.0.0 specified should be equal or
higher than the minimum version 23.0.0.0 required by Flex SDK
There is no place where 11.1.0.0 is mentioned
In your descriptor file (the one that ends in .xml), change the second line:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="no"?>
<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/23.0">
It has to start with application, not with extension.
But, something is odd with the message, it indicates Flash Player instead of AIR.
You might want to change the compiler settings as well.
In Flash Builder, create or open a new project.
Open the project Properties panel (right-click and chose 'Properties').
Select Flex Compiler from the list on the left.
Add "-swf-version=34" to the 'Additional compiler arguments' field.
I have copied and adjusted the instructions from the Flash Player 23 Release Notes
There should be a descriptor file where you can define target-player version. I'm using IntelliJ as an IDE where it creates MyProjectName.iml and defines target-player version as below:
<configuration name="MyProjectName" target-platform="Desktop" main-class="Main" output-file="Main.swf" output-folder="$MODULE_DIR$/out/production/MyProjectName">
<dependencies target-player="23.0">
<sdk name="AIR SDK 23.0" />
</dependencies>
</configuration>
I'm new to maven and I'm trying to make my project work with an sqlite database.
Code works as a normal java project.
I made a Maven project with the exact same working code and added the dependacies in the pom.
pom.xml
<dependency>
<groupId>org.xerial</groupId>
<artifactId>sqlite-jdbc</artifactId>
<version>3.8.11.1</version>
</dependency>
Also, the Library.sqlite is in the root folder of the project (where it works as a normal java project)
works in java, not in maven
"jdbc:sqlite:Library.sqlite"
The error reads "[SQLITE_ERROR] SQL error or missing database"
Since it's the same code as the java project, I'm sure there is no syntax error, so it must be something with the location of the Library.sqlite?
How can I make this work?
SOLUTION
It seems my program created a new empty Library.sqlite in my folder and that's why it couldn't find my tables. After deleting the original and editing the new one, it works!
I tried using the same library as you and it seems to work fine for me. Take a look: https://github.com/ajorpheus/SqliteHelloWorld
Sample output after a successful build:
name = leo
id = 1
name = yui
id = 2
Process finished with exit code 0
I tried every solution i found in the internet.
Im using flex 4.5, This is what im doing:
created directory locale/en_US in my src directory
add resources.properties file to that directory with some mappings.
add -locale en_US -source-path=./locale/{locale} -allow-source-path-overlap=true to the compile args.
checked in the framework that the en_US locale directory appear.
add metadata:
<fx:Metadata>
[ResourceBundle("resources")]
</fx:Metadata>
starting the app gives me the exception:
Error: Could not find compiled resource bundle 'resources' for locale 'en_US'.
This is some of the main solutions i tried:
uncheck "Remove unused RSLs" from the build path.
add the directory as a source path.
using the argument -include-resource-bundles and give my directory here (with using the argument -resource-bundle-list to get all bundles).
Any idea what else can i do?
Here is my structure for a mobile app (Android and iOS):
In src/locale I have 3 subdirs: de_DE, en_US, ru_RU
And in compiler options: -locale=ru_RU,en_US,de_DE -source-path=locale/{locale}
For another mobile app I have:
In src/locale 4 subdirs: en_US, hr_HR, sr_RS, sl_SI.
I had to add the latter 3 dirs with copylocale command.
And in compiler options: -locale hr_HR sr_RS sl_SI en_US -allow-source-path-overlap=true
Both apps work well for me with the latest Apache Flex SDK.
Here is the contents of a src/locale/hr_HR/recources.properties file:
# resources.properties file for locale hr_HR

OK i found a solution here:
http://www.nbilyk.com/flex-localization-example
im really not sure why it should be that difficult.
anyway, if someone ever need a help with that. after you successfully compile the file using ant (like described in the link), if you want to load it dynamcally like i needed just use (for example):
resourceManager.localeChain = ["en_US", "es_ES"];
resourceManager.loadResourceModule("Resources_en_US.swf");
resourceManager.loadResourceModule("Resources_es_ES.swf");
worked well for me, no need to add anything to the compiler args for that solution.
Try using the fully qualified directory path name. If you're using ant you can use ${basedir}/src/locale/{locale}
I'm trying to add the automation libraries to my project in Flash Builder so we can automate our testing.
I've added this to the additional compiler settings:
-include-libraries+="${flexlib}/libs/automation/automation.swc","${flexlib}/libs/automation/automation_agent.swc","${flexlib}/libs/automatio n/automation_dmv.swc","${flexlib}/libs/automation/automation_spark.swc ","${flexlib}/libs/automation/automation_air.swc","${flexlib}/libs/aut omation/automation_airspark.swc","${flexlib}/libs/automation/qtp_air.swc"
and -locale nl_BE fr_BE
After compiling this I get 2 errors:
Unable to resolve resource bundle "automation_agent"
Unable to resolve resource bundle "qtp_air"
However, in my nl_BE and fr_BE folders under flex_sdk\frameworks\locale\ the automation_agent_rb.swc and qtp_air_rb.swc are present.
If I switch to en_US, it works fine.
Can somebody explain to me why Flash Builder can't find these resource bundles?
Try explicitly adding automation_agent_rb.swc and qtp_air_rb.swc to your library-path as well.
