Aptana - Mobile Phone Emulators - aptana

I'm new to the Aptana Studio 3 development environment. I have created some .html pages (and want to add jQuery Mobile at some point) and would like to see how they would look on a mobile phone, such as an iPhone or Android device.
When I click on the RUN button I have the choices of (A) Firefox - Internal Server or (B) Internet Explorer - Internal Server. This does bring up a view...but it really doesn't show how the code will look on a mobile phone.
Is there a way so that I can click on RUN (or whatever) and have the view come up as though it was on a mobile phone?
Not sure if I need to install some emulator or plug-in or configure my environment?
I've heard that something called "Titanium Studo" might be better?
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks

Titanium Studo is an IDE for developping mobile application such as Android & iPhone using javascript, and we test our application into Android & iphone simulator.
There is also a mobile web project that allows you to create mobile web application using HTML5 (like m.facebook.com), but i didn't see any web simulator for mobile in Titanium Studo.
For ipad, i use this website to test: ipadpeek.com

Can't debug application on IOS Device

I created a vanilla PCL project in xamarin forms. I tried to run on Android and it works fine.
But when I change de target to IOS and select my real device (Ipad with IOS 11.4.1), Visual studio only allows me to build solution, I wanna to run application on it but I can't.
The target IOS is 8.0, and I already authenticated with my apple account and created a provisioning profile.
I already done this on another project before and works fine.
I really don't know why Visual Studio don't allow me to debug, when I open my oldest project with this device it allows me to debug.
What OS are you running Visual Studio on? IOS requires MAC, whereas Android is compatible with all OS. It's been a while, but I know there's an option to wirelessly connect to a MAC OS so that you can run your IOS Xamarin Forms application anywhere.
I found the solution.
I was trying to use "Debug", and it works fine on the emulator, but to real device I need to use "Debug | Iphone" or otherwise it only builds.
Even when I try to use "Release" it's the same trick.

Resolution issues with Windows Phone apps?

I'm building a Windows Universal App, and at the moment, I'm making the Windows Phone app. I'm debugging using a Nokia Lumia 520 which has a 480px * 800px display.
Because I'm using HTML5 & Javascript instead of XAML to build the app, I'm worried that it might look bad on a 1920*1080 Windows Phone or another Windows Phone with higher resolution. Because I have no way to test this theory, how can I be sure that all Windows Phone's will display my app correctly?
Visual Studio gives you a lot of Windows Phone emulators all with different device and screen sizes . In Visual Studio you can select target device on the "Debug" button.

how to debug a css issue in iphone 5 (ui issues)?

I want to know how to debug a css issue in iphone 5.
I tried it using firelite plugin. But on rotating from portrait to landscape the firelite is occupying the whole screen.
Is there any other way of debugging css issue in iphone 5?
From Apple's developer documentation:
With Safari on iOS 6 and later, you can debug your mobile web content
from your Mac. You can view JavaScript errors, edit HTML attributes,
change CSS properties, and more—just as you would when developing for
Safari on OS X. This chapter describes how to use Web Inspector to
debug web content on iOS.
You should test your web content on both the desktop and various iOS
devices. If you do not have iOS devices for testing, you can use iOS
Simulator in the iOS SDK. Because there is a difference between web
browsing on iOS and OS X, you should specifically test your content on
iPhone and iPad or emulate the hardware device in Simulator. When
testing in Safari on any platform, you can use Web Inspector to debug
your web content.
For more tips on debugging web content in Safari, read Safari
Developer Tools Guide. Read the section “Changing the User Agent
String” in Safari Developer Tools Guide to learn how to simulate
iPhone- and iPad-like behavior in Safari on OS X.
You could try using Adobe Edge Ispect.
If you install the app on your iPhone, and the plugin in Chrome you can debug your website using the Chrome dev tools.

How to develop cross platform apps with Flex?

I have been throught a lot of reading and the whole thing is becoming only more confusing so I decided to ask you some stuff about Flex.
So, Flex can run in a webpage if you have Flash plugin in your browser, in an AIR container (on pc/android/IOS, but on OSX ?) and also can compile to Native IOS/Android app.
I am not sure about the last point.
If it is possible, how can I build a flex app that would run in browser with flash plugin and also be compiled to Android and IOS (and maybe Windows RT) ?
Adobe gives you Flash builder, do you also need the Flex SDK ? Is it doable with the Eclipse Flex plugin ?
Thank you for your help and sorry if it is a bit messed up.

This is mostly correct. Flex can run in a web page using the Flash Plugin, which is widely available on desktop browsers. For all intents and purposes, you should assume your mobile users do not have a Flash Plugin installed on their mobile browsers.
It is true using AIR you can create desktop applications for PC and Mac; OSx is indeed supported. You can also use AIR to create Mobile applications on Android, iOS, and Blackberry Playbook. So, iOS is indeed supported. Windows 8 UI/Metro support for AIR is expected 1st quarter of this year. I suspect we'll also see AIR support for Blackberry 10; but nothing has been formally announced that I'm aware of.
Update: 3/2014
Adobe has abandoned plans for Windows 8 UI / Metro support. Windows Phone 8 support is a very common feature request, though, so vote for it if you want it.
BlackBerry 10 does indeed support Adobe AIR. Here is a link to the SDK.

maybe Windows RT) ?
Flex is primarily a framework for creating business applications. A slightly different component set is offered for desktop applications and mobile applications. Part of this is due to screen size; and part due to performance. A big DataGrid with dozens of columns, for example, is not conducive to the screen size of your mobile phone.
Update 3/2014:
A mobile optimized DataGrid was donated to the Apache Flex Team, and it should be available in current versions of the SDK.
In the end; you should not plan on using the same exact application for both your Desktop/browser app and the mobile app. But, you can share some amount of code. I would target to share 80% of the code. Move the shared code into a library project; which you can then use on both your mobile application, your desktop application, and your browser based application.
Adobe gives you Flash builder, do you also need the Flex SDK ? Is it
doable with the Eclipse Flex plugin ?
Flash Builder is shipped with the Flex SDK. And Adobe Flex ships with the AIR SDK [Note: Apache Flex does not ship w/ the AIR SDK due to licensing differences; but there is a handy installer]. Flash Builder, also, is an Eclipse plugin and can be installed into any eclipse instance you wish.
You do not need Flash Builder to create a Flex Application. You can use command line tools and other IDEs, such as IntelliJ, if you prefer.
Using Flash Professional, you can package and export to a number of platforms using AIR. You can port to both Android or iOS (as a native app), in addition to creating a .swf file that can be embedded onto a webpage - all using the one application (go 'File' > 'Publish Settings' then change the player target).
I'm not sure whether the same options are available in Flash Builder, (appears to be possible -
adobe website) but not other IDE (such as Eclipse) or framework should be needed.
You may want to consider an alternative development and deployment strategy depending on your requirements, e.g. PhoneGap which should offer support for a greater number of devices.

Setting up Motorola xoom simulator to test web applications

I have a web application which is developed for Ipad and which works fine in Ipad. I want to test it in motorola xoom. Can any one point me or guide me on how to set up motorola xoom simulator which has browser so that I could test my Web App in it?
Thanks
The information you need is on this page.
Here's a quick rundown:
- Install the Android SDK
- Create an AVD (Android Virtual Device) with the specs you're looking for (ie. resolution)
- Run the emulator with the AVD (emulator -avd )
