Use WinSCP instead of CPanel - ip

I have a site http://www.example.com, the cPanel of which I access via the url/cPanel.
However, it is not accessible from the systems in my college as the access to the port through which it connects, something like 2082, is disallowed.
Is there any alternative to that, such as using WinSCP? Also, I only have the domain, not its IP address. I also have the username and password, that I use for accessing the cPanel.

You can install WinSCP and transfer the files. To do so download and install WinSCP. Once it has been installed open it and select files protocol as FTP and in Hostname enter your IP address, same with Username and Password. Now click on Login option. Once you are in you will be able to transfer files.
You can as well go though quick guide at : http://winscp.net/eng/docs/getting_started

How to prevent user access to IP address for a website hosted in GCP?

I have a Wordpress website (Bitnami) thats hosted in Google Cloud Platform. The IP address is something like: 33.33.33.33. My domain is hosted on Google Domains and has 2 nameservers pointing to Cloudflare. On the Cloudflare DNS settings, I have 2 A records, one is ftp and the other is something like 'mywebsite.com'. I also have a CNAME which is www mywebsite.com.
I am able to hit the full URL of my website but I also notice I can enter the IP address and it also works and loads the website. Is it possible to prevent acccess to 33.33.33.33 and only allow the full URL?
Create VPC Firewall Rules that only allow Cloudflare IP addresses.
Consult this document for the current Cloudflare IP list.
Google Cloud VPC firewall rules overview
Note: Cloudflare does not support FTP, so you must point your DNS resource record for FTP to your server's IP address and not through Cloudflare. I recommend that you do not use FTP. Use SSH/SFTP for file transfers. Configure WordPress so that installing plugins, uploading images, etc do not require FTP. FTP is not encrypted which means your login username and password are sent in the clear.

How to access website using hostname instead of ip address?

I am working on a wordpress website and I'm unable to access my website using the host-name. [However, I'm able to access my website through the ip address. For example, when I enter 10.20.0.18, I'm directed to 10.20.0.18/wp-admin/plugins.php]
I am new to hosting and I was just able to update my hosts file and properly link the ip address to hostname by reading through some articles.
I also checked these links are correct using ping command.
For example, my hosts file looks something like this,
#Host file starts here
127.0.0.1 localhost
10.20.0.18 www.webserver.abc.com
66.155.40.202 api.wordpress.org
#End of host file
Now, when I try to access the website using hostname through my web browser, I get this error.
This site can’t be reached www.webserver.abc’s server IP address could not be found.
I am not sure where I am going wrong, or do I need to make some more changes in other files?

In Minishift, Web Console API path not changed to public domain setting

My case would be, I would like to share my minishift instance to my intranet network.
It looks like there is no option to choose the network / IP, e.g. if you try to set the virtualbox network interface to "bridge", it would just fail
So I would like to setup port forwarding, e.g. http://blog.brianjohn.com/forwarding-ports-in-os-x-el-capitan.html
In this case I am able to access to the web console, e.g. redirect port of machine IP:PORT to 192.168.64.4:8443 (minishift)
But all the API, e.g. "https://192.168.64.4:8443/api/v1" are still using the internal IP, which of course it can not be accessed externally.
Are there any way to make it work properly?
When I need to access minishift from other hosts, I use SSH tunneling.
First you need to enable SSH access in your OSX and make sure you enable AllowTcpForwarding. Then create another user in your laptop to login via SSH.
From other hosts you need to login using SSH with following command:
ssh -L 8443:192.168.64.4:8443 user#<you_laptop_IP_address>
Keep the user logged in so that you can access your minishift web console using browser to https://localhost:8443

Xampp asking for a password only when accessed through hostname

I have Xampp setup on my windows machine, with a WordPress site, when accessing it, through localhost, it runs normally, however after I linked my computer, through no-IP, for a dynamic DNS, and attempt access through the internet using the hostname, I get prompted for a username and password for some reason.
I'm not sure why this is happening.
I realized I didn't forward a port so it was actually redirecting to my router page and asking for username and password.
Anyhow, I found this YouTube video on how to forward a port for linksys router: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIK-RpVNAM8
Didn't realize it was more of a Network question.

I can access website with server name, but with ip address system prompting i need to give username and password.

I have setup a test enviorment on server and there are few websites running on IIS.
Website security settings are set to 'integrated windows authentication' and anonymous access is unchecked.
When i access the website with the server name then it works fine but if i use an ip address instead then system prompting username password window.
Why system is prompting username password window?
How can i access a site with ip address and server name?
Assuming that you are using Internet explorer, when there is a period in the URL it thinks that its an external address and will not pass on the credentials. So an IP address such as '10.1.1.1' will be treated as an external address, and as for an address like 'myhost' it thinks its an internal address and pass on credentials
