I have a sharepoint at my office. Its 2013 version. Where I want to write some asp code. But the issue is SharePoint is blocking the code and I am getting error "Code blocks are not allowed in this file". I searched google and found several links to solve the issue by saying make some changes to the webconfig file.
Now my question is how do I find the file. Where it is actually.
What I have is a sharepoint, I don't have any designer. I only have admin access for this site. Can some one please guide me.
I know there are several entries here in stackoverflow, but no one is talking about where to find the file.
Please help me.

By default injecting server-side code (ASP.NET) in SharePoint pages directly from sites is not allowed for performance reasons, and should remain as is.
If you never approched SP developpment and are not an administrator of the farm in your company I strongly advise you to see first if you can solve your needs with client side development (javascript) instead of going to server side (ASP.NET).
SPS2013 comes with the "Script Editor WebPart" that you can use to inject your custom JS on pages. If you need your custom on all pages consider adding your JS on the site's masterpage.

If you need heavy customisation for your site you can move to the addin model (client side) that will require Visual Studio IDE develoment suite.
And last option is if you explicitly require serve side code and/or need to develop a scalable enterprise grade solution, you will need to make a "SharePoint full trust solution package".
PS: You may see articles around about "SharePoint Framework" (aka SPFx), unfortunatly this is not available for SPS2013.
I have deployed an ASP.NET website on IIS 7. I was able to access my site using the URL http://**local host**/sitename.aspx and all the formatting of my pages is looking good.
But when I access the same page by using the URL http://**servername**/sitename.aspx from another system or on the same server where I have been deployed, the page formatting is not working properly.
What would be the best solution for this? Thanks
First a fall to check your Js/Css file path where you have not mention static file path with localhost name.
For more detail go to browser and browse your url and press F+12 so development tool will be open and check there for broken url.
I am not sure why you are worrying about formatting soo much. I mean formatting should not affect you much unless you use <pre> in your html.
There are ways to modify the HTTP Response Using Filters. Can you please makesure none of these filters present in your application for release mode.
Generally i use HTTP compression feature of IIS to compress my content, but in browser it looks correct to me.
Currently moving a project Ive been working on to a dev server but for some reason its still looking at localhost. I've checked firebug in firefox and also in chrome developer tools and they both show the app looking at localhost. On the odd side I'm running the network monitor in Flash Builder 4.5 and it is displaying the calls going out to the correct dev path. I've even gone the route of displaying the WSDL path in a text field and it does display the correct dev path.

Are you using an AMF connection that references services-config.xml? Check that your services-config.xml channel endpoint is pointing to your correct server url and not to localhost.
So I finally got this worked out. First, thanks to both of you for helping on this. The error was actually being caused by the network monitor inside of flash builder. I noticed something odd when I turned of IIS and I was still able to run my application. After some digging it turns out that the localhost my swf kept looking for was actually flash builder. Once I disabled network monitor, did a clean, and compiled the swf it worked like a charm!
Why when I access an aspx (e.g., http://www.example.com/foo.aspx - not the real site) through IE6 would I get a 404 Error (i.e., "The page cannot be found") in IIS6

I can get to Default.htm in the same directory, so I know the path is right. I've opened it up to everyone (temporarily) so I know the permissions are right.
It could be a lot of things. I had this issue today because .NET had not been re-initialized after installing IIS (aspnet_regiis -i -enable or equivalent).
Check that the anonymous user under which the site runs has read access to the file foo.aspx.
IIS6 and later uses a 404 response, thereby not letting an attacker know whether such a file even exists.
I just happened to find another culprit for this issue. My foo.aspx page referenced a particular master page that had a <%# Register %> directive to a user control that did not exist. Removing the reference to the non-existent user control caused my foo.aspx to load instead of 404.
I found a solution here.
The real catch was using this:
Response.TrySkipIisCustomErrors = true;
The site is pointing to a different directory where the page is not.
It could be permissions, however I would think you would get an access error instead.
I'm assuming you are running IIS.
Check that www.example.com is going to the site that you think it is.
If you are hosting multiple sites on the same IP using host headers you may want to double check the name you are using is going to the site you think it is.
Ray and Joe probably have it. In order to serve any file type, IIS has to have a mapping for it. Aspx files require that they be mapped to the AspNet ISAPI dll, which the .Net installation normally takes care of. If you install IIS after .Net (and I'm sure there are other situations), you have to initiate this yourself by running aspnet_regiis.
ALTERNATE SOLUTION (same error perhaps different cause).
I had installed Visual Studio 2008 Pro without SQL Express it, and it caused this same error. Reinstallation of VS2008 with sql express included seemed to have corrected the problem, or perhaps the install took other actions. I did try to register ASP.net numerous times prior but no luck however it is definitely the most probable cause Just posting my experience for those pulling their hair as I was..

If you register the .NET 4 version of IIS, you may find it's grabbed the registration of the aspx extension. If ASP.NET v4 is prohibited then 404 will be returned
I had this issue where some customers were reporting the 404.0 and some didn't have the problem at all(same page). I was able to navigate to any of the pages with no problems from my machine. Some customers would refresh and it would go away. I am using .Net 4.5.2 and IIS 7.5.
Looking at the IIS log file I would see:

I found the problem was I had deployed a new version of the website in which the old version of the website had RouteConfig.cs/FriendlyUrlSetting setup by creating a project using the web forms template. The new version was created using an empty template. So obvious to me now.. no URL routing. Customers had a cache issue with certain pages on their machine(no .aspx extension) and having them clear browser data ultimately fixed the problem.
I got this issue when I tried using a different drive to host my apps. I ended up moving them to the wwwroot folder because it was working there and I did not have to time figure out why it is not working on the E:\ drive.
I had bin\roslyn compiler missing. Adding that all worked fine.
Check for double quote errors. I started getting a 404 on a single page because I accidentally had this:

instead of this:
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="ImageURL">
For an aspx page, error 404 can be quite misleading! I have seen all the answers and they presuppose assuming various issues with the file, page, path, etc. but the simplest issues is the fact that if there is an error in your asp page (i.e bad format, improper usage of control, etc. asp will think the page does not exist and will post a 404 when in all actuality, it is easy to ascertain if there is a bad format by simply clicking on design mode. If the page does not render no need to do anything else but look at what is causing the render error, fix and viola'! Your page shows since it was never missing or can't be found, but it simple did not know how to display! Too often people go looking for the wrong solutions and waste so much time! Hope this helps somone. :-)
I'm embedding the Google Maps Flash API in Flex and it runs fine locally with the watermark on it, etc. When I upload it to the server (flex.mydomain.com) I get a sandbox security error listed below:
SecurityError: Error #2121: Security sandbox violation: Loader.content: http://mydomain.com/main.swf?Fri, 12 Sep 2008 21:46:03 UTC cannot access http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/lib/map_1_6.swf. This may be worked around by calling Security.allowDomain.

Does anyone have any experience with embedding the Google Maps Flash API into Flex components and specifically settings security settings to make this work? I did get a new API key that is registered to my domain and am using that when it's published.
I've tried doing the following in the main application as well as the component:

Security.allowDomain('mydomain.com')
This sounds like a crossdomain.xml related problem. I did a quick search and there seems to be many people with the same issue. Some proxy requests through XMLHttpRequest etc..

Thanks for the help. Apparently this has something to do with including the Flex app on an ASP.NET page. When I moved it over to a flat HTML file, it worked fine. I don't have time to fully investigate right now, but that seems to have fixed it.
